While I did not like this one quite as much as the duo’s two previous works, I could not put it down. The twist was not nearly as shocking as those I have come to expect from them, but it was still good.

Shay, a young woman trying to make a life in NYC, witnesses a tragic suicide in a Manhattan subway station. Shattered by this experience as well as her crumbling social life, she is serendipitously rescued by a glamorous pair of sisters who take her under their wing. They help her remake her appearance, her career, and her social life. Or so she thinks until she realizes she is being expertly manipulated into taking the fall for a crime she absolutely did not commit. Great twists, great turns, intriguing characters. And Shay is nobody’s fool, after all. Enjoy the ride!

I loved every minute of this book! The characters, the pacing, the switch and bait, the action! There is quite literally not a dull moment in the story. Thank you again Netgalley and St. Martin’s press for this fabulous ARC by this powerhouse duo!

Shay is horrified and dismayed when she witnesses a suicide. A woman jumps onto the tracks as a subway train arrives at the station. She picks up a broken sun charm necklace apparently belonging to the woman. As the days pass, she is unable to get the tragedy out of her mind and even fears riding the subway. She feels compelled to attend the funeral where she meets sisters, Cassandra and Jane who befriend her. Cassandra and Jane know that Shay has the necklace and want to find out why she has it and what she knows. The sisters have organized a mysterious group of 30+ women of whom the suicidal woman, Amanda, had been a part of. Why are the sisters so overly friendly and helpful?

Readers will immediately feel the tension in this story. What are the intentions of this mysterious group of women? Are they dangerous and why are they so intent on getting Amanda's necklace? Will lonely Shay be pulled into something before she knows what is happening? As the story evolves, readers will be hoping that Shay can save herself from this sinister group.

Another blockbuster tale by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen who took readers by storm with their previous novels, The Wife Between Us and An Anonymous Girl. What more can readers want than be beguiled and entertained with a book they are unable to put down? There are some twists and turns to take readers on quite a ride! Shay is an excellent character who has resourcefulness and intelligence. Statistics she brought to light are fascinating and relevant.

I will be looking for the next book by this amazing duo. Thanks to Net Gallery for allowing me to review this terrific tale.

I was so excited to get an ARC of this book, because I read An Anonymous Girl by the same authors and loved it. This book was even better and drew me in from the first page. The characters were all so interesting and the story-well I can't describe it without giving stuff away. The writing was amazing and will keep you turning pages long into the night. (I stayed up until 2am on a work night!)

“I don’t look back. But I swear I can feel her eyes on me.”

Ah, Sarah and Greer are just the kind of authors you know you can turn to when you need to really be wowed by a book. With YOU ARE NOT ALONE, this author duo reminded me why I first fell in love with psychological thrillers.

This was a terrific nail-biter where every page is worth savoring. And I found this book to be even more interesting than the previous two due to the fact that the authors have broadened their cast of female characters throughout a fascinating premise: Shay witnessed something terrible happen right in front of her, to a woman that bears a great resemblance to her.

It's often tricky to keep the readers' interest in most psychological thrillers but the authors got that covered in You Are Not Alone; while the characters *are* well-developed and the story is intriguing enough to keep us turning the pages late into the night, Pekkanen and Hendricks know when it is the right time for us to change atmosphere and, for instance, get a chilling glimpse into their characters' (skin-prickling) backgrounds.

If you are a fan of this author duo’s work, this book will blow your mind!

Wow! I'm not sure how two authors can collaborate on such a seamless, intricate story, yet somehow they've done it again! I was so excited to get an advanced copy of this book from Netgalley and immediately dove right in. I was a huge fan of their previous books, The Wife Between Us and An Anonymous Girl, so my expectations were high, but reserved. This story begins with the main character, Shay, a 30-something New Yorker in-between jobs and boyfriends, witnessing a horrific accident on the subway tracks. Consumed by guilt by not doing more to prevent the accident and haunted by the sight of seeing someone killed, Shay uses her knack for statistics and research to learn more about this anonymous woman, even attending her memorial service. It is here where Shay's life takes a dramatic turn when she's introduced to Cassandra and Jane, two highly influential sisters who are friends of the deceased and come to Shay's rescue just when she needs friendship the most. There's a variety of characters making up this book and each chapter flips between each of the women, carefully divulging a little nugget of information. You soon begin to realize all of these friendships are not by accident, but an orchestrated group pent on revenge and vigilantism. There is so much more to this book and sharing anymore would be too much. I read this book cover to cover in under 2 days and was still thinking about afterward. Add this book to your TBR and mark your calendar for its release date on March 31, 2020. This book is a must read!!

You Are Not Alone is the latest thriller by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen. The authors bring us the story going back and forth in time and from different points of view. Hendricks and Pekkanen make an excellent writing team, giving the reader edge of the seat moments that will keep your heart pounding. I want to thank Net Galley and St. Martin's Press for the early copy to review.

I absolutely love these authors and could not have been excited to read this book! It was an incredibly engaging, suspenseful and fast-paced book. If you are a fan of either of these authors’ other books, you will definitely enjoy it! That being said, I was a little surprised (in a disappointing way) about a “big twist” near the end, as it didn’t quite seem to fit with the rest of the book and made the storyline a little more confusing. However, I still overall loved this book!

I was very excited to read this novel as I am a fan of the authors and it did not disappoint. The pace and writing were perfect. The characters and mysteries were engaging and the final twist left me gasping.

You Are Not Alone is another great suspense thriller by the authors Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen. If you liked The Wife Between Us and An Anonymous Girl, then you are sure to enjoy reading this. It’s a story of lies and deception, murder and revenge. Although I felt it started off a little slow, once I got into it, I couldn’t put it down. I actually think this is probably my favorite of all of their books. I feel these authors must have really vivid imaginations to come up with such great, original storylines. One aspect that I appreciate about their writing is the short chapters that are told from the different characters points of view. It seems to make things move along at a faster pace. I’d like to thank NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for the e-arc to read and review. It was an entertaining story and one I recommend to other readers of this genre. All opinions stated here are my own. I rate this at 4 stars.

Not a bad story. A witness to a suicide suddenly finds herself unable to go back to the train station. She also finds herself being sought out and accepted into a friendship of sorts with the friends of the woman who died. She feels strongly attached to the woman and the life she led before deciding to end it all. Renting her old apartment, tracking down her mother, etc. are how she keeps busy while looking for a job.

I was interested in how it all tied together, but at about the 3/4 mark, I found recaps of what had happened, who said what, to be unnecessary and annoying. It also happened in almost every chapter. I did enjoy the writing and the story line until that started making me think that pay was something earned per word. I also thought the research she put into finding James/Trey's story was a bit out of line!

Overall, a good story, maybe a 3.8 stars Thank you NetGalley for an advance reader copy in exchange for an honest review

Shay Miller's life is about to get worse, much worse. She has lost her job, and her roommate's new girlfriend wants her gone. Not exactly the life she planned and she is struggling to get back on track. One morning, as Shay waits for the subway, she witnesses a suicide, and it hits her like a ton of bricks. Obsessing over the victim, Amanda Evinger, and wondering what she could have done to prevent this tragedy, she attends a memorial service to learn more about Amanda. She meets Amanda's close friends, Cassandra and Jane, and she just can't believe that anyone who had friends like this would take her own life.
To Shay, these women have it all. Looks, money, style, and high powered careers, and she cannot help wishing that these were her friends. But Cassandra and Jane have an agenda, and it might not involve making Shay their new best friend. Chapters alternate between Shay and Cassandra and Jane. Every chapter provides another little piece of the puzzle, but the authors are clever, and those pieces didn't come together as I imagined.
A fast-paced story with a New York city backdrop that kept me guessing until the end. I may have stayed up late to finish, but I just couldn't wait to uncover all the secrets and lies.

If you’re anything like me, you’ll get sucked into this plot just like Cassandra and Jane sucked Shay into their world. Unfortunately, I was waiting for the “Oh my gosh!” moment that The Wife Between Us had, and it never came. Even when we find out the truth about each of the characters, my reaction wasn’t near the surprise I had with TWBU. It’s a good read, but nowhere near the thriller I was expecting.

After losing her job, Shay Miller’s life takes another drastic turn as she’s expected to vacate her rental flat to make room for her roommate and best friend’s new girlfriend. Witnessing a horrible suicide while waiting for the subway sends Shay on the brink of despair. When she encounters the glamorous sisters, Cassandra and Jane Moore, it seems she has finally found the friends she has been looking for all her life. A lovely place to stay, a well-paying job, and a personal makeover make life promising once again, but things are not what they always seem on the surface. The narrative shifts between first and third person alternatively, and ...full review on website

Shay Miller is a lonely, unemployed introvert who spends her days pining after her best friend and platonic roommate, Sean. When she witnesses a woman commit suicide on the subway platform, she mysteriously ends up falling into that woman’s female friend circle, in particular with sisters Jane and Cassandra Moore. The women slowly bring Shay out of her shell, building her self-esteem/confidence while also helping her find a new job and apartment. Unbeknownst to Shay though, this friend group is actually a female vigilante group brought together while plotting elaborate #metoo revenge fantasies on the men who have previously wronged them. Believing Shay has ulterior motives and questioning her involvement in their friend’s suicide, the women aren’t really helping Shay, but rather setting her up as their next “target”.

THOUGHTS: this is YOU with a great #metoo era twist. The book is sharply-written and well-plotted, with at least 5 interesting and flawed female characters. Everyone’s motives are questioned and nothing is quite what it seems. The story is suspenseful and relevant and explores themes such as authenticity, female friendship, and sexism.

Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen, the queens of the psychological suspense thriller, are back with ‘You Are Not Alone,’ which is an intricately plotted novel with surprises aplenty.

Shay Miller feels like she is all alone. Her roommate (and secret crush) has a new girlfriend, she gets laid off from her job, and she is witness to a horrible suicide while waiting for the subway. When she encounters the glamorous sisters, Cassandra and Jane Moore, it seems like her life might finally be back on track. Or has it just become even more derailed?

As one who tends to figure out plot twists way too early in a narrative, I was pleasantly surprised that I did not anticipate all of the surprises in this particular story. I thought that the narrative style (Shay’s chapters are in first person, and the other highlighted characters are in close third person) was particularly effective in slowly ratcheting the suspense of the story as it progressed.

There are many interesting female characters in the story, and while I felt some of them (and their motivations) came across as a little too rote or stereotypical for my taste, I found the core characters of the story to be fascinating.

If you’re already a Hendricks/Pekkanen fan, this novel won’t disappoint. And if you’re new to this writing duo and read this book, you just might find yourself picking up their other two novels, just for good measure.

**Thank you, NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for providing me with an ARC in exchange for my honest review.**

WOW!! Greer Hendricks has done it again with You Are Not Alone! I was glued to the book from start to finish. Shay innocently witnesses something horrible, and the events that follow make her life both wonderful and unbearable. This is a contemporary mystery that I can easily see being made into a movie. I would have given it five stars, but there were a few occasions that I needed to reread events in order to be comfortable with all the characters. Highly recommend!

This book was filled with twists. I really like this writim3g duo. Can't wait to see what they come out with next!

This is my third read from this great duo, and this one did not disappoint. I feel this is a solid 4 stars for the writing, characters and all around "what is going to happen"!

The reason its not 5 stars? I felt the ending became very rushed, where I felt "That's it"?!?

I still believe this is worth the read, and look forward to what they have in store for us next!
