Four women who met in college try to get together every year but with marriages and children it's been 5 years since they last met. One of the women arranges for them to meet up with their families for a holiday week in Italy.
What could go wrong? When overprotective mothers pretend their children are perfect and women suspect their husbands of cheating, all kinds of things can happen. And they do in this suspenseful story.
This is the third book I've read by T.M. Logan and I've become a top fan. His writing is clever and the characters as well as their stories ring true. The plot is intricate and I'll admit I didn't figure it out until the very end.
I received an advanced copy from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review and I'm glad I had this opportunity. Now, I'll be waiting for Logan's next book. Well done!

Wow. I couldn’t wait to read this. The title, the cover, and the author drew me in. An ending that no one will see coming.

Trouble in paradise? that is just the tip of the iceberg for this novel! The way the author tells the suspicions of the wife is so realistic. Anyone who has ever been suspicious can relate...and then it gets even worse! Definitely pick this up!

Beautifully written! So creepy and I was obsessed with it. I really enjoyed the characters and loved the ending. Go ahead and read this one!

Four women who have been best friends forever decide to go on a vacation with their families together. On the vacation though Kate suspects her husband is having an affair with one of her best friends but finding the truth might be more than she bargained for..
The Vacation is a domestic thriller by T.M. Logan. Unlikable characters, secrets ,lies and betrayals with some twists made it an interesting read for me though I did feel the ending was a little rushed.
I would like to thank St. Martin’s Press & NetGalley for providing an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest and fair review.

I received this book "The Holiday" from NetGalley (although on NetGalley it is called "The Vacation" and all opinions expressed are my own. This book started off slowly. I basically read it to see what happened at the end. Other books by this author were much better - this one was okay.

I didn’t love this one unfortunately. It was fun to read at times and I wanted to know how it ended, but it was also painful. The poor communication among characters is not a theme I particularly enjoy, and it drove me NUTS how the characters spoke in incomplete sentences, without subjects or pronouns. The letter I doesn’t take much space but sure adds a lot more realism to a conversation. I’ll read this author again but think he can do better than he did in this book.

Four college friends now approaching 40 and their families gather at a luxurious and palatial house in France for a vacation. However, a text found on a husband’s phone on the first day of the trip causes one woman to suspect he is having an affair with one of her oldest and dearest friends. With her background in criminology, she attempts to follow clues to discover who the mystery texts are from. The ending had a helluva twist, but I felt the first half or so was a little draggy and repetitive - she talks to a friend, suspects it may be her, then has lunch or goes for a swim or some vacation-y thing and pretends everything is fine. Then onto the same in the next chapter with a different friend. I skimmed until the last third of the book when it picked up with the revelations and twists.

A slow-burn of a mystery involving 4 best friends vacationing together.
I had high expectations for this one after enjoying Lies (2017) by this author. I really wanted this one to be a winner. The beginning was intriguing as one of the wives suspects her husband of having an affair with one of the "friends".
The second half involves the couples teenagers and this story line totally lost my interest. These are not the kind of people I would call friends and certainly not a dream vacation. I was frustrated with the pace and it didn't pick up until the last chapters. I was expecting more tension and thrills throughout the novel.

Another great book by T.M Logan!! I read this book in just 3 days!! Great story teller with lots of twists and turns!! I have also read 29 Seconds by T.M Logan, just great books!! Thanks to @Netgalley for a great opportunity to ready this book early with a ARC!! Make sure you put this book on your "to be read" book list for the summer. Your poolside reads will thank you!!

This was an excellent thriller that really made me think. Impressive character development along with a fascinating storyline make this book a success. Kudos to T.M. Logan!

I received a copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for my honest opinion. TM Logan might just be one of my most favorite new authors to read. I absolutely loved this book and found it to be addictive and thrilling! Keep ‘me coming TM as you are amazing!

I wanted to like this book BUT it seemed nothing happened. I only kept reading because I kept thinking surely something will happen or be revealed. The ending even felt rushed. This book could have been so much more.

I received an advanced readers copy in exchange for an honest review
This book definitely went down some roads I did not expect it to go. Some of it’s very standard vacation “accident” thriller type stuff but in the end it transcended the tropes and still felt fresh. Definitely well worth the read. 3.5 rounded up

This is a fast paced and suspenseful book that will keep you guessing - there were lots of good twists and surprises. It is a quick read that will be a perfect vacation book. I really enjoy T.M. Logan's books and style. I received a digital ARC of this book from NetGalley.

I really enjoyed this book and it really did keep me guessing throughout with all the plot twists.
The book follows four longtime girlfriends; Izzy, Rowan, Jennifer and Kate. They have been friends since childhood and are looking to go on a "family style" vacation with their spouses and children so they can all celebrate their 40th birthdays together. Things in their lives have changed so drastically since the "good old days" so can they really enjoy each other's company like they used to, and put any past issues behind them?!
The book starts out, and is mostly told from, Kate's point of view. As she arrives to the villa with her husband and two children there is already a sense of foreboding in regards to what might happen on this vacation. Then Kate finds something on her husband's phone that threatens their whole life as a family. But things aren't always the way they appear.........
This one is definitely worth the read!

T.M. Logan does a wonderful job of introducing a rather large group gathered for a reunion vacation in France. The backdrop is beautiful, but it turns out most of these friends are hiding not-so-beautiful secrets! As is usual in life, everyone thinks the other families are without problems. The first family problem exposed, helps you discover the secrets with each family. When the murder occurs, you finally get some straight answers!
This book is a great read for any vacation.

Thank you to St. Martin’s Press and NetGalley for the advanced copy of this book. I was immediately drawn into the premise of this book. Three families on one vacation, mystery ensues. Who is Kate’s husband having an affair with? What is going on with the kids? The author does a great job of making you question all of the characters (with the exception of innocent Daniel) throughout the book. They were well developed but not a particularly likable group. It was definitely a slow burn as the real information doesn’t come out until right at the end, but I found myself wanting to keep reading to get all of the answers.

I couldn't wait to finish this book, and not in a good way. There was too much going on but nothing going on at the same time. It's like the author wanted to create suspense and then made up a whole bunch of information to throw you off the trail of what would be the big reveal.

I really enjoyed this book- very unexpected events. Basically 4 college girlfriends and their spouses and kids all get together for a few days. There seems to be a lot of resentment among the girlfriends. Can’t say much more without giving things away. It was well written and Not the typical book.
