The Daughter's Promise by Sarah Clutton was a book with a few twists and turns. fun and quirky characters and enough action to keep me want to keep turning the pages. Willa inherits a house in Australia from an owner that is a mystery woman and as she journeys to the area to look into the inheritance she finds out a little more than she bargained for.
Fun characters and good writing made this book a great read and I thoroughly enjoyed the drama that played out on the pages. Sometimes unpredictable and unexpected the story highlights the beauty of the area and the drama that plays out in a family.
I loved this book and was happy to receive an advance copy from Netgalley for review purposes.

Annabelle will break your heart.

Personally, when I dub the male antagonist a 'schmuck' it signifies a flawed character that still has the capability of redeeming himself. I can't bestow that honor onto Dan. He was not flawed—he was a bastard. I don't believe that he suffered nearly enough. At first I sympathized with Sylvia for being caught between a rock and a hard place, but after all of the secrets and truths were revealed, she deserved nothing—especially Anabelle's love and devotion. She simply was not worthy. Hamish was adorable, as well as Indigo.

It was so easy to fall into this book and in love with this bittersweet story. Even hours after I had finished, my thoughts still lingered on this tale—and Annabelle's indomitable spirit. Wonderful story!!

Thank you to NetGalley, Bookouture, and Sarah Clutton for an ARC of 'The Daughter's Promise' in exchange for an honest and voluntary review.
