I read couple books by this author, but this was just a simple and not too interesting book for me. It was a fast read but I was glad I finished it fast.

This was... kind of gross... I DNR in the middle. People who turn into animals are very common in fantasy books but the way that the author depicted the cat/person-sex and the thinking of the character that it would be ok to have sex with someone as a cat but not as a man because then it would be cheating... No. Weird. Also, this book is obviously not a stand-alone and I feel that to understand what is happening I would have to read the other books. Overall it could be good, it wasn't.

Lush detail and good prose isn't quite enough to make up for a story that drags along. I always enjoy tales of magic and this one has a lot of potential for good storytelling, unfortunately it doesn't deliver in that way. That being said, the writing was well done and if more time could be spent actually making the story flow and move faster,it might work.

I received an ARC of this no el from the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I can’t seem to get enough of Lucifer Thatch’s story and I constantly find myself rooting for him. The guy did give up 30 years of his life to live as cat just to be with the love of his life. This is another piece of the puzzle solved slowly yet surely. It takes place 2/3 of the way into the Womby series so although it’s not necessary, I found it entertaining to read the situation over again from Lucifer’s perspective. Both him and Abigail are trying to figure out a way to restore him to his human form for good and they may find a temporary reprieve.

This is a short and sweet novel and I’m already well on my way t9 reading the next one.
