An interesting read, a bit of a struggle to get through but overall ok - I appreciate the opportunity to review it!

I thought the first few chapters of this book were really strong and I started off with high expectations - opening with a Steve Irwin quote was gold!

But, the more I read, the more I just couldn't take it anymore.

The author is clearly a talented writer and I was genuinely impressed by the quality of the writing itself. There were also a few very funny lines in here but unfortunately there wasn't enough to hold it together for me.

The characters are written to be extremely unlikable, which would be fine if the overall story was worth investing in. Sadly, I found it far too repetitive and couldn't handle these disgusting characters any longer.

After a painful break up you follow the life of a hateful and angry protagonist. A very convincing character in an otherwise confusing story. Every now and then the book is very funny, however quite often the humour didn't do it for me. Or it went straight over my head.

What didn't help in my personal situation is me not being a native English speaker. I am used to British english and American english, the Australian slang complicated things for me as I'm not that familiar with it. That could have played a large part in my opinion.

For me this was a no.

A dark, intriguing storyline..

It was a decent read. Not my favorite.. but definitely unique.
