-‘“I moved here to find myself, but all I’ve managed to do so far is to become even more lost.”’-

-‘She’d always been mindful of the fact that she was the sidekick or third wheel. This time she had a partner in crime. Someone to lean on, and not just partially.’-

Lincoln and Opal couldn’t be more opposite. She’s an artist-type and very dynamic and positive. He’s ex-military and as sour and surly as they come. A combination of pain from a severe leg injury, nightmares from PTSD, a victim of circumstance, and a genuine emptiness from shutting God out of his life, drive his unhappiness and restlessness. Opal is bound and determined to befriend him. Lincoln finds her incredibly annoying but he just can’t seem to stay away from her. Will Opal help him find joy in life again, with God’s help?

-‘“Finding one of these intact is almost impossible anymore, but look what I found last night...I wish that wherever you end up finding yourself, you’ll remain intact. You’re one rare find, Lincoln Cole, just the way you are.”’-

Oh, so, so, so good! T. I. Lowe sure knows how to weave a beautiful love story! I can’t wait to read the next two books in the series! 😍 (So many quotable quotes! I couldn’t limit myself to just one. Her writing is so inspiring.)

I am always excited when T.I. Lowe releases another book. Beach Haven in the first installment of a fantastic new series about three close friends who navigate the highs and lows of life together. This story encompassed all the components of a perfect contemporary inspirational romance: faith, family, and romance. The author’s writing style is sincere and captivating. She has a distinct skill in creating compelling characters who occupied my heart and mind even after I read the last page. Excited to read Josie’s story next.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley. This review is my honest opinion.

Quirky, artistic Opal meets tough, ex-Marine Lincoln soured by an war injury that ended his career. Opal was a little too quirky and unbelievable for me. So many soldiers have come home to deal with injuries, anger issues and PTSD that Lincoln was more believable. It was hard to imagine Opal and Lincoln working together. I'm glad the author featured a Vet dealing with real issues.

This was my first book by this author and it was a great surprise. The quirky Opal plus the brooding Lincoln made a great story. The characters were well developed and I hope we will get the stories of some of the side characters as well. I loved this story of reconciliation and healing. I highly recommend this book.

Wow! This book pulled me in from the first page & was very difficult to put down! There was depth, but it was also an easy read. Free=spirited Opal appears to be a modern-day hippie, but beyond the surface is a woman with brains & deep convictions. Ex-Marine Lincoln isn't sure what to do with Opal when he meets her. As the two spend time working together, they learn to appreciate each other's strengths. Opal pushes Lincoln to resolve some deep-rooted personal issues as he faces difficult physical challenges and together they discover a special relationship. Great read!

BEACH HAVEN by T.I. LOWE is a really lovely book with a strong theme of restoration, and of turning what is broken into something that can be used.
The story starts with Lincoln Cole and Opal Gilbert in Sunset Cove at her funky furniture shop, Bless This Mess. She is tiny and feisty and has a heart of gold, but her nonstop chatter and quite unusual behaviour has him walking out before she can interview him for a job. He is in pain from a nearly fatal war wound which makes him grumpy and withdrawn, and he is afraid that she can see right into his soul. He is an ex Marine who has come to Sunset Cove after being blown up during his second tour of duty, to get away from everything and try and make sense of the rest of his life.
From the ancient knitting club ladies, to the Sand Queens, to Carter Bradford and his family and August, the hippie artist, there is a wonderful assortment of characters. Add to this, Hurricane Lacy and its aftermath, and the story grows in momentum. I am not going to tell you any more as I do not want to spoil the read for you.
The author has a way of drawing you right into the story, and you really feel what the characters are going through. I cannot recommend this book highly enough and am looking forward to reading the next two novels in the series.
I was given an ARC by Tyndale House Publishers from NetGalley. The opinions in this review are completely my own.
