This story hits so many issues in many romance novels, but surprisingly leads us into reality. The element of true faith is described wonderfully!

This book had so many twists and turns, it will leave you guessing. There are also some glimpses of angels throughout looking out for our main character. Love this book. So glad I decided to read it.

A lovely, uplifting love story set in Wales. The club-footed scullery maid attracts the heart of the poor manor’s lord and then trials and misunderstanding ensue. I was drawn into Faith’s story and her search for faith in the Lord. This is a quick read even with the complication of the Welsh terms and sentence structure. I would read more about this time and couple. Thanks to #netgalley for #faithinabertillery to read and review.

What an interesting story, so many historical moments and places weaved into an unexpected romance. There is intrigue and secrets to keep you interested in what happens next, as well as a satisfying conclusion.

Okay, for the first time, Tracy Traynor owes me a box of tissues! Wow, she just ripped out my heart, stomped all over it, and I didn’t even see it coming! Keep the tissues close by as you are reading FAITH IN ABERTILLERY . She will have your emotions all over the place. I have never read any other books by Tracy Traynor before but I know FAITH IN ABERTILLERY won’t be the last! Wow! What an awesome story. Once I started reading, it was very hard to stop! Tracy makes her readers feel every emotion her characters are feeling to the point where you feel as if you are right there, struggling along with them.

Faith needs to find a job and quickly. Her mother relies on her as well as Bertie. She begins working for Lord Geoffrey Driscoll as a maid. Before that, she was a barmaid. Because everyone in the Wales village where she lives is going through a Welsh Revival, she loses her job. Lord Driscoll is quickly taken with Faith but she does not encourage him. She is a maid after all plus her family is dependant on her. She cannot lose her job again. After a previous relationship turns sour, Faith promises herself to never trust another man with her heart so she keeps pushing Lord Driscoll away.

Faith is also keeping some very big secrets. Secrets that if ever got told, would destroy her and her family. No, she can’t tell anyone about her sinful past. She knows she isn’t worthy of ever having the life she dreams of so she just keeps pushing on. Will she ever be truly happy in her heart? Will she ever accept God in her life?

I don’t want to say too much for fear of giving away all of FAITH IN ABERTILLERY but once I started reading this beautiful and heart breaking story, I could not stop! Everyone should have this unforgettable book on their winter reading list. The dialogue between Faith and her co workers is just hysterical. I was instantly emotionally invested in all of the characters from page one and I can not wait to read more by this wonderful and heart tugging author.

An enjoyable read from a new to me author. Faith knows a lot about pain, trials and hardships. She finds herself in a small town enraptured by a revival movement, which, despite not embracing the same beliefs, is nonetheless drawn to the spirit of the movement. Faith captures the attention and heart of Lord Driscoll. It seems like it would be an easy match, but there is so much more the story than we first realize. Faith is determined to refused Lord Driscoll, just as he is determined to win her heart. A delightful unfolding of a boy meets girl and the friendship that blossoms into more. The only drawback for me was the way Welsh terms were used and defined in the story. One the one hand, the definitions (in parenthesis next to the word) were very helpful and allowed some authenticity to be woven in, it was also distracting and a bit disruptive to the cadence. I am not sure what a better way to approach this would be, just an observation. It was not distracting enough to cause me to not enjoy the story though. If you enjoy clean, inspirational, historical fiction love stories, you will enjoy this book.

I received a complimentary copy of this book and all expressed opinions are solely my own.

Such a beautiful book to read. The characters are genuine and my heart broke and soared. Touching, you will love it!
South Wales, 1905. Faith only believes in the certainty of pain and suffering. Born with a club foot and harboring a dark secret, the barmaid can’t escape her sinful past. But after the country’s religious revival puts her out of a job, hope sparks when a handsome aristocrat gallantly offers her a second chance.
Lord Geoffrey Driscoll fears his estate will run out of money before he can find a suitable bride. However, the devout nobleman can’t keep his mind off the stunning redhead despite her lowly status. As the attraction between them grows, Lord Driscoll is torn between his need for a wife of means and his heart.
As Faith falls for Lord Driscoll’s kindness, she wishes that she could erase the sinful past that stands in the way of their union…
Can the troubled couple trust in God to light the way to true love?
Faith in Abertillery is a touching Christian historical romance. If you like stories of forgiveness, rich backdrops, and charming chemistry, then you’ll adore Tracy Traynor’s moving tale.

"Life is an adventure whether exciting or stagnant depends on the path we choose."
Set in South Wales 1905, "Faith in Abertillery" is the first book I've read about the Welsh Revival and I absolutely loved it.
Faith is a twenty year old girl working and taking care of her mother and younger brother and with the revivalist movement, many places are slow or closing down and she loses her job as a barmaid. Risked being on the streets, she is offered a job as a maid in the household of Lord Driscoll. Faith feels she is unworthy of love or anything good for her.
Will Faith let down her guard and follow her heart?
The author did a beautiful job on this book. It was well written and shows what the love of God and your belief in yourself can create.
The characters I loved them all.

Thank you to author, BooksGoSocial and NetGalley for the eARC.

The book Faith in Abertillery by T N Traynor presents a wonderful insight into the relationship-building of two people from different social standings. The historical novel presents a most interesting background of the social-cultural environment typical of the 1905 timeline. I particularly enjoyed the book because of the Welsh landscape and presentation of the South Wales historical background during the development of the storyline.

The intense relationship developed between Faith, a barmaid who carries a deep secret with her and Lord Driscoll captures the reader's interest and excitement. The well-written and edited book presents a storyline of love, social status and society's expectations.

The book presents an easy reading but informative approach that makes the reader wonder about life and realise that hope still exist. I appreciated the use of different phrases at the start of each chapter. It allows the reader to think about the events and align with one's personal experiences.

The book I give a 5-star rating because of the well-prepared storyline, clear description of the different role players and the ability to keep the reader interested all the time.

This was the first book that I have read about the Welsh Revival and I did learn a lot about it. I enjoyed reading this book because there was a good storyline with the two main characters falling in love. There was lots of heartache in this book but Ian pleased there was a happy ending.

I nearly did not go beyond the first few pages of this book because of the way it is written - all in the present tense! I'm glad that I did however. It is a charming story that reminds me a bit of the TV series Downton Abbey.

I feel that it would have read better if everything was in the past tense like most novels.

I disliked the sometimes compulsive, foolish behaviour that Faith exhibited at times - like walking for miles in wintry weather - twice if I'm not mistaken, But I did like how the romance developed between Faith and Geoffrey, and how he could overlook Faith's physical disabilities and social status.

Thank you Netgalley and BooksgoSocial for this ARC. This is my honest review.

This is the first truly satisfying book I have read in awhile and I read a lot. First, having read the true historical account of the Welsh Revival years ago, I was delighted to have stumbled across this historical/fiction/romance version. It rings with authenticity and proves once again that truth is indeed stranger than fiction. I felt that the writing was well done, the characters well defined and certainly believable, and the plot unpredictable. There is much more substance here than usually found in an ordinary romance novel.

Do I actually believe that the Welsh Revival really happened. I do. I believe it happened just as this fictional account recreates it. Just as I believed the account as related in the book “The Welsh Revival” related the real event. Why do I believe it? Because I am a believer and my own experience coming to Christ actually happened very much like the experiences described here in TN Traynor’s “Faith in Abertillery.”

Powerful, highly recommend! Read it with an open mind and an open heart.
