This book really does live up to the name cookies are Magic! The recipes are delightfully delicious and fairly easy to follow. I really love many of the drop cookie recipes and I can see my self using this book time and again. As per my usual my criticism comes in the are of pictures. I always say it’s not a deal breaker to not have many photos. However, in this case the use of generic clip art sounds fun but it just really takes away from the recipes because the pics come off hokey. I highly recommend this book as a resource though because it has not only tried and true recipes it has great baking tips to help you take your cookie game up a notch. I received this book from NetGalley for an honest review.

I have always heard great things about Maida Heatter but haven't really read her cookbooks before. I have already bookmarked several drop cookie recipes! The Charleston Chewies look great. I wish the book had a few photographs, the illustrations are darling but I can't quite picture what some of the cookies are supposed to look like--like the big lemon ones.
