An Absolutely Amazing Paranormal Suspense Romance .
I volunteered to read and review an advanced readers copy through Netgalley of Wolf Under Fire . I really enjoyed reading this Fantastic Story . It definitely keeps you on the edge of your seat with pulse pounding suspense and intrigue . The characters are a fabulous collection of individuals each team member has their own unique skills and abilities . This is such a well written story . It kept me captivated from start to finish . Special Agent Jake Huang is lead agent for his FBI/CIA Special Threat Assessment team (STAT ) . Jake is also a werewolf he and his team are sent to London when two Agents had their throats ripped out by an unknown creature . They must help the lone team mate Jestina Ridley on a case of a kidnapping where the security guards also had their throats ripped out . Jake is taken from the moment he sees a picture of Senior Field Agent
and new team member Jestina (Jes) . Little do they know it's gonna get intense very fast . This story is Action packed and absolutely brilliant .
I highly recommend taking the time to read and enjoy .

Having read 5 of the books in Paige Tyler's previous SWAT series, I was already pretty familiar with her world of werewolves, however, I do think this new series can stand alone and that a new reader would have no problem jumping in here. That said, I did find the book a bit more chaotic than her SWAT series. I think that was because there was a lot to establish up front, a whole new team composed of both werewolves and humans, a new agency (the STAT group), new supernatural creatures, and a host of new locations as this series will be more international in scope than the SWAT series which was mainly set in Dallas. The plot also seemed to be filled with action, maybe just a touch too much so, but it was fast-paced and exciting. Jake was wonderful as the alpha and leader of this new team, determined to meld them together into a "pack". Jestina was initially a bit hostile as she was accustomed to fighting rogue werewolves and didn't think much of supernaturals in general, but she softened as she got to know and started to trust the rest of the team. And of course, it turned out that she was Jake"s "one", his soulmate, so she didn't fight her attraction to him for long. I'll be looking forward to more stories in this series.

Action, adventure and love! Wolf Under Fire (STAT: Special Threat Assessment Team #1) by Paige Tyler is a spin-off of her successful SWAT series which is phenomenal. In this new series the STAT team is a hybrid mix of folks that are aware of the supernatural and when necessary take down dangerous supernatural offenders. This is a terrific team and I look forward to future adventures with them all.

This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.

Great start to the spin-off series of STAT, a SWAT type team that deals with the supernatural threats. Jake Huang joins the team (he made an appearance in Wolf Instinct with Zoe and Chloe). You don't need to have read that book but it is always fun to see where these characters started out.

Jes and Jake are immediately attracted to each other but Jes is a bit leery as this is her first time meeting a werewolf and after watching her previous team members torn to pieces, she is not sure what to think. Along with Jake joining the team, we meet Caleb and Harley (also werewolves), Forrest (human) and Misty (a technopath).

This book is filled with lots of action as they try to stop the new threat to the world. Since, the vampires were defeated in the previous book, and Davina mentioned there was a balance in the supernatural world, it is not surprising there is an emergence of another supernatural threat that requires the skills and strength of werewolves! Which means that they will still be finding their "The One"!!

This book was so much fun and I cannot wait for the next one in the series and will really be looking for Caleb's story - wonder what kind of woman will be able to handle him!!? I do have to say that when Caleb went crazy werewolf and would not stop holding the dead guy, it was great that Jes was strong enough to go up to him and get him to back down - loved that part!!

This is a typical Paige Tyler book. :) The action is fast paced and exciting. :) The characters are complex and realistic. The relationships are heart warming and passionate. Totally love it. Can't wait to read more in this series. :)

This is a great continuation of the series with the introduction of a new species. There is good action, intrigue and of course the fate driven romance.

I miss Paige Tyler's X-OPS series but this new series seems to bring touches of that in with the SWAT series. It was exciting and fun and I want more in this series - now, please.

WOLF UNDER FIRE by Paige Tyler is the first book in the STAT: Special Threat Assessment Team series. The book mainly takes place in England with a few scenes elsewhere. In this story, supernatural creatures are known to a few, but not all humans. As with humans, some supernatural beings are criminals and the United States has put together a team of supernatural beings and humans to deal with these criminals domestically as well as internationally. STAT agents Jestina Ridley and former Navy SEAL, alpha werewolf Jake Huang, and new leader of the STAT team are the main characters in this action packed supernatural suspense, police procedural, urban fantasy and romantic suspense story.

The characters felt three-dimensional, with distinct flaws and virtues. Their goals were clear and proactive with believable motivations and appropriate emotions. The world-building was excellent and I felt like I was there with the STAT team. This book was action-packed with high stakes and several plot twists. Romance took a back seat to the action and investigation, but there is one steamy scene about 60 percent of the way through the book. The prose was well-written, descriptive, fluid and captivating. The plot was suspenseful, sinister, intriguing, engrossing, twisty and fast-paced.

Overall, this was irresistible, enjoyable, entertaining, engaging, and a fabulous read. If you enjoy action-packed urban fantasies with great protagonists, sinister antagonists, and some romance, then this a series to be considered. I am looking forward to reading more books in this series as well as more books in the author’s other series.

Thanks to SOURCEBOOKS Casablanca and Paige Tyler for a complimentary ARC of this novel via NetGalley and the opportunity to provide an honest review. Opinions are mine alone and are not biased in any way.

I'm not new to Paige Tyler's books, I did read her X-Ops and SWAT series. I haven't been reading her books for a couple of years now, somehow I find Ms Tyler's writing to be quite repetitive and I got tired of them.

I requested for Wolf Under Fire via NetGalley as this is the first book in her new series. I was quite excited to have received it. My first thoughts upon reading this books is that it failed to capture my attention. This book has so much potential but somehow it felt a bit short for me. Jake was likable as the Hero, unfortunately I couldn't say the same about Jestina, the Heroine. The romance between them just didn't quite add up and there wasn't much chemistry between them either.

Wolf Under Fire is not a failure by any means, not was it a slam dunk for me. I received this copy via NetGalley and the above thoughts are of my own.

Lots of action. Jess and Jake are assigned to the newest FBI, super secret program known as STAT. Jake was recently recruited to the program after fighting Vampires in Los Angeles, with fellow werewolves. Jess watched her previous teammates be killed by creatures she never saw before. Each are cautions about working together. Jess assumes that her previous teammates were killed by werewolves. Jake wants his new "pack" to work together, and trust each other completely. What neither imagine is falling in love ( being the one true person meant to be together). The team must overcome many obstacles in their mission to find out why children are being kidnapped.

The action / love interest was 4 out of 5 stars. I enjoyed reading the story...but truly miss the SWATT team members.

2.5/5 stars!

I was looking forward to this book, but was disappointed at some points of the story. Firstly, the heroine made some comments that irked me near the beginning, even though her tune changed later in the story. A minor point that I wasn't particularly fond of was when the hero didn't feel like a leader until said mission was in progress. Lastly, I didn't feel that the transition from acquaintance to lovers wasn't smooth in my eyes.

The best parts of this book included the comprehensive werewolf pack aspect that Ms. Tyler is known for. I also liked the set of characters that encompass as the team or "pack" of this story. Even though some parts were predictable, I found the overall plot enjoyable and the set of supernatural beings intriguing.

Though this particular book was not my favorite of Ms. Tyler's books, I will read future additions from this series because of the general plot and Ms. Tyler's writing. I do think there are some characters that needs their own books in the future.

**Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the review copy.**

Awesome start to this spin-off series! It was full of edge of your seat suspense and also a sexy romance. I am looking forward to more in this series.

Jes and Jake are part of a STAT team investigating an international, and supernatural, terrorism plot. Jake, the head of the four person team is a werewolf and Jes... is not. But she has seen these were-beasts in action. They killed her previous partners. Throw into the mix that Jake and Jes are attracted to one another and the thrills begin.
The characters seemed real, with realistic motives and reactions and emotions. The plot was a fantastic ride with lots of edge of the seat moments.
I would highly recommend this book to my patrons.

This was my first read by Paige Tyler and I liked it but I didn't really love it. Don't get me wrong, this is a good book, well worth the time it takes you to read it, I just didn't fall in love with the characters or the plot as I hoped I would. When I read the blurb for this book I was immediately drawn to it and was slightly let down by the end result. It started good but as story progressed I kept losing interest. It did pick back up towards the end though. What lowered the rating from me also, was Jes, the heroine. I didn't like her. I couldn't warm up to her at all. She just rubbed me the wrong way I guess. I liked Jake, the hero, on the other hand. I also felt like their romance was forced. I didn't feel the chemistry or the attraction between them.
Overall this wasn't a bad book, far from it, and I'd recommend it to my frinds despite the things that bothered me about it. I'm also looking forward to reading more from Ms. Tyler.

I absolutely love Paige Tyler's paranormal worlds. Wolf Under Fire was no different. The book opens with some gory excitement that was witnessed, sort of, by Jestina and pulls in Jake a former Navy Seal and Alpha Werewolf.
The tensions begin the moment these two meet and build until they explode together.

This story had a lot of suspense and even more romance. It drew me in and I couldn't put it down until the last word was read. I read it in one sitting and couldn't stand to let it go. I loved this world and the mysteriousness of the bad guy. This is a must read for romance and paranormal fans who love a good alpha.

Wolf Under Fire is the first book in Paige Tyler's new STAT series and a spin-off of her SWAT series. My first impression? Awesome! I love Jake and Jestina and the rest of the team. I'm usually pretty good at predicting plotlines but the author hit me with a shock near the end that I never saw coming. A winner for lovers of action-packed paranormal romances!

Wolf Under Fire is the first in new series for Paige Tyler - it's a spin-off of her SWAT series which I have always enjoyed. A lot of the world-building is done in that original series and it's also where we first meet Jake our leading man. However, I think Tyler does an admirable job of filling there reader in on the "rules" of this supernatural world through conversations between her characters.

This book is fast-paced and action-filled but also has just the right amount of character interactions and sexy times. It does rely heavily on the trope of "love at first sight," but Tyler has spun that as a part of her werewolf mythology of The One. The sexy times are solidly open door while also being sure to spend time with the tender moments.

There is some suspension of disbelief that has to happen with the whole kidnapping/shape-shifting/climate change plotting. Perhaps containing the action to just one continent could have smoothed out some of the awkward transitions. However, this is a small complaint and it didn't detract from my overall enjoyment of the book.

The cast of characters here are interesting and I definitely look forward to reading the next books in the series to see Caleb and Harley get their happy endings too. I'd never heard of a technopath before and it will be fun to see what other new supernatural powers that Tyler creates with the rest of this series.

I always love these books. I'll feel a little guilty about it--there's a sameness about the series, there's not a lot of diversity, no queer characters, little deviation from traditional gender roles, etc etc. But I still love reading them. They're not deep, they're not earth changing, I don't breathlessly recommend them to my friends. But they're fun, and some days fun is the most important thing. I always enjoy reading them, even if i am never surprised by them.

Jestina Ridley, part of Special Threat Assessment Team (STAT), is investigating a kidnapping with supernatural elements, when her team mates are violently murdered. Even though she is aware of the existence of werewolves, she is stunned to learn that the leader of her new team is an alpha werewolf, Jake Huang. Jestina has to learn to trust Jake and the rest of his team, so they can work together to save millions of lives. I look forward to the next book in this fast-paced paranormal romance series by Paige Tyler.
