Loved this book! Great storyline, an interesting and believable main character and a great location. The story takes place in 1933 which is an era I really like and this author portrayed the time and surroundings with a great deal of realism. I can't wait for more adventures of Kitty in the near future! Thank you NetGalley for the advanced readers copy for review.

Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for this fantastic second installment of the Miss Underhay mystery series. This book lives up to and surpasses the intrigue in the first book. This book takes place in 1933 a few weeks after "Murder at the Dolphin Hotel."

Kitty Underhay has been invited to visit the family of her father Edgar Underhay, who until recently she had not seen since she was 4 years old. Lord and Lady Medford live at Enderley Hall with their daughter Lucy who is keen on getting to know her cousin Kitty.

Kitty is eager to get to know her father's side of the family as she is still searching for clues as to what happened to her mother who disappeared without a trace in 1916. Many at Enderley Hall feel that Kitty is the spitting image of Elowed.

Lord Medford is working on a secret project that relates to the security of the Nation. When the papers go missing from the locked room and locked safe, Kitty suggests calling in Captain Matthew Bryant who assisted her Grandmother, Mrs. Treadwell when they required added security at the Dolphin Hotel. Matt has recently resigned from a government position and has started his own company - Torquay Private Investigation Services. There is a cast of fascinating and well developed characters at Enderley Hall. Besides Lord Medford, Lady Hortense Medford, and Lucy - there is Nanny Thoms, Aubrey Mountford who is Lord Medford's private secretary, Sir Horace Blunt, Mr. Harmon (the butler), Mrs. Jenkinson (the housekeeper), Mr. Thomas Henderson (the landscape designer), Viola Fiser (the art restorer) and Lucy's friends (brother and sister) Rupert and Daisy Banks.

As several bodies turn up in and around the Hall, it becomes evident that the thief and murderer are one and the same. Also that he will stop at nothing to get away with his crime. Inspector Greville and Dr. Carter from Book 1 also have a large role in this book.

There is a lot left to tell in the story of Miss Kitty Underhay, so I'm looking forward to Book 3! Definitely a book worth more than 5 stars.

After reading book one and rating it about 3 stars I was engaged enough to want to find out what was in book two. I think that this one worked out a lot better than book one. Things felt more fleshed out and the characters didn't seem like they all ran together. I really enjoyed this one and can't wait to see what else this author has in store for us readers.

Go Into This One Knowing: So much better!

Excellent read!. I really enjoyed both Kitty and Matt and found that the combination of them working together was wonderful! This book had a great sense of tune and history, you could definitely tell it was set in the 1930s, there were accurate details to indicate this. I'm looking forward to book 3!

I received a copy of this title from the publisher for an honest review; 3 1/3 stars rounded down to 3. Murder at Enderly Hall is the second title in a delightful cozy mystery series featuring Kitty Underhay set during the 1930s. Following the events of the previous book, Kitty travels to Enderly Hall to meet her newly discovered family and joins a house party already in progress. Her cousin Lucy is delighted to meet her and have a cousin; Kitty's aunt, Lady Medford, is less thrilled, but is polite. Kitty meets the rest of the party including, Rupert (a young communist supporter from a good family), Rupert's sister Daisy, Viola (an artist fixing a mural at the house), Mr. Henderson (helping Lady Medford make changes to her gardens), and Nanny Thoms (who assists Lady Medford). Shortly after her arrival, someone steals a formula from Lord Medford's safe; the exact details of what the formula is for isn't fully explained, just that it is of value and could help win a future war for the country that has it. Kitty calls Matt Bryant, a former military man who helped her solve who was behind a series of events/murders a few months previously, to see if he can help determine who the thief is. Once Matt arrives, events begin to move very quickly as the thief is forced to take additional steps to keep his identity a secret as well as leave with the stolen formula.

I thought the mystery was nicely done for a cozy mystery and I really enjoyed getting to learn more about both Matt and Kitty. I love Kitty and her willingness to do whatever it takes to solve who stole the formula. A little more of Matt's backstory is revealed and the potential romance between the two continues to develop at a nice pace. The mystery of Kitty's mother's disappearance back in 1916 is not forgotten in this second title, and a little more information is revealed - I can't wait to see the mystery continue to develop in future books. Overall, this title was a good way to pass an afternoon with wonderful characters and a nicely done mystery.

Having read and enjoyed Murder at the Dolphin Hotel so much, I was thrilled to get an ARC of Murder at Enderley Hall via NetGalley.

I felt right at home the moment I started reading. Helena Dixon is one of those writers who write so well that I immediately feel comfortable and relaxed, and the story just flows. I was really pleased that Matt is in this adventure as well as Kitty, I like them both so much. They are complex, believable characters who seem very real.

The story held my attention throughout, apart from one brief section where there were a lot of “interviewing the suspects/witnesses” scenes in a row. Fortunately, we moved on to other scenes before I got fed up. I was also slightly disappointed that Kitty wasn’t as involved in investigating as much in the first half of the book. This was mostly because she wasn’t in the interview scenes. However, these were both very minor niggles, that wouldn’t even get mentioned if the rest of the book wasn’t so very good!

In conclusion, it was a joy to return to two favourite characters, meet a number of new ones, and solve another fun mystery with them. I can’t wait to read the next one, and see how things develop between Kitty and Matt (as well as enjoy another excellent murder mystery, of course).

Another cozy mystery from Helena Dixon and another adventure with Kitty Underhay! Upon the discovery (through her father Edgar) of relatives she didn’t know existed nearby, Kitty accepts the invitation to visit Enderley Hall. And thus begins this whirlwind tale and murder mystery! When it's clear something sinister is afoot and bodies begin to pile up, Matt and Kitty are paired together again to help solve the case. I love how the characters of Kitty and Matt have developed and look forward to romance blossoming in the future. From beginning to end, it’s a page turner that will keep you guessing. A worthy follow up to the first book, Murder at Enderley Hall leaves you ready for more adventure and mystery in books to come.

A big thank you to Boukouture for providing this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
