I thought the premise of this romance was good. Two competing restauranteurs finding love sounds like it could be interesting but there was really not a lot of excitement in this book.
In the end I thought the story was made more complicated than necessary with the involved family back stories, but the end was wrapped up too simplistically without really resolving anything.
Honestly I didn't really understand the characters motivations. I couldn't understand why if Alexa's family really made her that miserable, did she never call them on it. I especially didn't understand the relationship with her brother Lee. It just seemed odd that she continued to give him so much power in her life. I also didn't see a buildup in her relationship with Ben. The romance is always supposed to be the main focus in a romance novel but I felt like the vast majority of the book was dedicated to Alexa's trust issues and not to her and Ben's romance. In fact I remember looking down at my kindle to see that I was almost 80% in and it felt like Alexa still didn't have any real feelings for Ben, except for a few mentions of physical attraction. It was like the romance was very one sided then boom they live happily ever after.
Overall I don't think this was a bad or poor'ly written book, but I wouldn't say it's a really good one either. I think if it had more focus on the couple it could have been much better.

Alexa was the owner of the elite Infinity restaurant. Benjamin couldn’t help but laugh when Alexa said “It’s you.” Benjamin knew this woman had probably hated him more than anyone else in the world. She added “ You need to stop following me.” Benjamin replied that he wasn't following her. Then Alexa replied” you are here to offer Cherise de Bruyn a job’” Then Benjamin said you’re here to offer her a job too. She responded by ignoring him. He shouldn’t want to smile since he was the reason she had to offer Cherise a job. She hadn’t confirmed that was why she was there but he was pretty sure. Benjamin was chomping at the last bit of Alexa's patience. They had known each other for eight years now. They had gone to the Culinary Institute together. They met on and off in the six years after that and whenever they did they rubbed each other the wrong way. It caused friction so intense Benjamin struggled to figure out how he felt about her. On the other hand she never backed down, said interesting things, and made him laugh. But on the other hand she was his greatest competition who would be friendly with the competition. Infinity was rated highly on all the websites. Her restaurant was the one he heard mentioned most frequently. He was a partner in the restaurant The Roughs. Her brother Lee was Benjamin’s business partner. Then when Lee was there Alexia said she and Benjamin were dating. Her brother had broken her heart too many times to count and Benjamin helped him do it. The last thing Alexia needed was Lee to know was her secret. This soothes her stomach’s queasiness when she reminded her that Lee’s presence in the last four years had generally made her queasy. She was one week from entering her second trimester. Lee was intent on ruining her life. Alexa had done something about her need for a family. Not the broken one she currently had but a whole one. A safe one. A family she could actually trust. Then her brother came up to her. She said she thought he’d get the message that she didn't want to see him. She didn't want him in her life. Benjamin came up and went on the pretense of a relationship in front of Lee. Benjamin’s weakness was helping people and it had been clear Laexa had needed help. Benjamin kissed her in front of Lee. This plunged both him and Alexa into complicated situations. But complicated felt good. When he pulled away he saw current and desire, fierce in her expression , but it was the confusion that Benjamin did. Benjamin passed her after she had unlocked the door. Alexia didn’t give into her impulses any more. They were what got her in trouble in the first place. If she hadn’t pretended Benjamin was her boyfriend now to discuss the way forward.
Alexa had worked with Kenza for four years, and she was hurt when she heard from others Benjamin and Alexa were together. Than Benjamin called and said he was there with his mother and she wanted to meet Alexa.
This was an enemies to lovers romance. I loved it. I loved that Lee and Benjamin were business partners but Benjamin went along with Alexa’s lie to lee. I didn’t like Alexa’s parents as they made her feel like she was never enough or disappointed them. I didn’t like Lee at all not a bit. So sad they could have been close. I loved that Benjamin stuck up for Alexa again against Lee even thought she was suppose to hate him and they were business rivals. I loved how Benjamin took care of his parents. I read this in one setting I didn’t want to put it down. And didn’t until I was done with the book. I loved how strong and independent Alexa was. She even went about creating her own family in that she was pregnant. This was a good book to read. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of the story and I recommend this book.

Her Twin Baby Secret by Therese Beharrie is currently scheduled for release on February 4 2020. Alexa Moore is the definition of independent. She runs her own successful business and she’s decided to start a longed-for family—by herself! But after business rival Benjamin Foster comes to her rescue and pretends to be her boyfriend for a night, their earth-shattering kiss sparks Alexa’s desire to share much more with him. But having Benjamin in her life means she must confide in him—she’s pregnant with twins!

Her Twin Baby Secret is an enemy to lover romance with much more emotional depth than I usually expect from the trope. Alexa's family is less than loving, while Benjamin's is very caring but has their own struggles. The family issues have affected the way both of them relate to others and deal with conflict- which is true of us all. I loved getting to know both of the characters, and could relate to Alexis's need to do everything herself and fear of getting hurt by those she might let in. Ben's protective nature was not unexpected, but I loved how sweet and caring he was. Each of them coming to terms with their own failings was perfectly paced and timed for the overall story, and it was just so well done.I also enjoyed that the secondary characters were so multidimensional, even those that could have been completely bad or oblivious had a moment or two when they were clearly more. I so want to see more of some of them, and plan on getting my hands on more books from Beharrie as soon as possible.

Her Twin Baby Secret is a wonderful romance. I cannot wait to explore the author's other books.

Well, folks, I have yet another rave review for a Therese Beharrie book. Her Twin Baby Secret was just the wholesome and swoony content I've come to expect from her and so much more!

Therese writes characters that I can easily envision being best friends with. Alexa, the protagonist, of Her Twin Baby Secret is one of my favorite female characters of all-time. I just loved this woman so much and there is a lot to love about. She is hardworking, fiercely independent, and not at all afraid to speak up her mind. She grew up in a very competitive family and was constantly pitted against her brother. As a result, their relationship is strained and rather toxic. Things turn for the worse when she loses her dream restaurant location as her brother decides to swoop in and buy it for himself. Though she is crushed by this, she refuses to let it impede her success. I was so proud of Alexa for not giving up. Instead, she channels her rage into a thriving business and is a total boss even when her lousy brother kept constantly trying to come in her way.

Her brother is not entirely useless to her though because he is what eventually leads to Alexa faking a romantic relationship with her rival, Benjamin, who also happens to be her brother's friend. You all know that fake-dating is a trope I'm all over, and I'm happy to say, Therese Beharrie does the trope justice. Benjamin is a soft, compassionate, and lovely man who also happens to be dealing with his fair share of troubles. He has the biggest heart and even when Alexa lashes out at him because of their "rivalry", he remains true to his kind personality. And the way he handles the news of her pregnancy? *swoon* And how she is being treated by her brother? When I say he is husband material, I actually mean it. Therese Beharrie's strength truly is in writing these couples that have real, thoughtful, and deep conversations about their lives, hopes, sorrows, and ambitions. You get to see their connection evolve through these conversations and it's a treat. You also can't help but smile while watching Alexa and Benjamins' interactions, particularly as they slowly move from being mildly annoyed by each other to not being able to stop thinking of each other. It's such a rewarding experience to fall in love with them, and ugh, why can't I find this kind of love!

I wish I could live in one of Therese's books and find the happily-ever-afters that her couples do. Instead, I have to live in the real world where men are not the greatest, but that's beside the point. Anyways, do yourself a favor and read this book. You deserve this pure and romantic gem of a book in your life!

This was such a cute low heat story. Ben and Alexa had a nice sort of enemies to lovers/fake dating thing going. They both had a ton of baggage they had to work through but the love story unfolded quite nicely. I really enjoyed this book.
