I was not able to get interested in this book and I did not finish it. The characters and the plot were not able to catch or keep my attention.

This book was way too long. I appreciated the storyline but I think the author had too much to tell for one story. I struggled handling the relationship between Katie and the Magees.

This was a little different to what i usually read, but what a wonderful read it was. I don't know much about this period in history (famine, California Gold Rush etc), which made it all the more interesting. There were moments that it pulled at my heart strings. A well written book that i can recommend.

My thanks to Netgalley and the the Publishers for my copy. This is my honest review, voluntarily given.

(Awaiting Amazon to publish my review).

This is a well written, very good read. The author did her research. And the characters were compelling. I thoroughly enjoyed it and had to force myself to put it down twice. Good job.

This is a well written pioneer Oregon Trail story. It definitely has good character development. The story does have a few unexpected twists and turns which helps keep your interest.

A lovely story for Christmas time without being to overtly saccharine. A real rip roaring tale of pioneer folk!!
