Wow!
I think this is my favourite book by Kris Bryant ever.... definitely one of my top 5 books of all time.

Cassie is cut off from her parents financially when she drops out of medical school. She takes a live-in nanny job to help pay the bills. Brooke Wellington helps run her family business, and as much as she tries to be home with her six-year old son, her busy career makes that a challenge. Hiring a nanny seems like a perfect solution for both of them. That is, until the two women grow closer, and it becomes harder and harder to ignore the goring attraction between them.

The chemistry was incredible between Brook and Cassie. I loved every single interaction between them, not matter how small. Cassie and Noah were also just adorable together.

This book really had it all, adorable family moments, and sweet romance and crazy chemistry and of course great sex.

Kris Bryant wrote an amazing book! Brook is well thought out and you can feel the turn of the story as her heart opens. Cassie Is sweet, funny and witty. They both comes from different places, but they learn to respect and care for each other. The romance is beautifully paced and the sex scenes are hot. The book is a joy to read and I loved Nana!

I really enjoyed this book. Having been a nanny and falling in love with a much older woman (my first lesbian experience), I can relate so much. I bonded with the characters so much that I cried hard tears at a poignant section. You'll know it when you read it. I really liked all of the characters, main and secondary, with Brooke being my favorite. Nana was a great addition to the storyline. I noticed a few of the items that other reviewers mentioned in the book, but none of them affected my enjoyment or appreciation of the story.
This is a slow burn romance so the ending is a bit rushed in my opinion and the epilogue is barely beyond the ending. Maybe there will be a sequel for this couple? I want to know! No book is perfect, but this book is a great read, with emotional swings that enrich it. I recommend this book wholeheartedly.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC of Temptation. All opinions are my own.

This book was really well-written. I loved the slow build of romance between Cassie and Brooke. Both were independent and strong in their own right and found such a great balance together as well.

I also loved Cassie’s relationship with Noah. He was such a a sweet kid and I could tell she genuinely enjoyed working with him.

Overall I really enjoyed this book and am rating it 4 stars!

This was a sweet and enjoyable romance. I mentioned before how I’ve been sick almost all of 2020. I’m finally 95% back to normal but when I was sick I could hardly read. Unfortunately, that means I’m pretty far behind in my ARC reading/reviewing so I had the opportunity to read many reviews about this book before I ever read it. I noticed that the early reviews started out strong, but then they turned into a bit of a mix with many people not caring for or flat out disliking the main character Cassie. I’m a big Bryant fan, she makes my top 5 favorite list of current lesfic authors, so I was really excited about this. I found out after the reviews I was tempering my expectations. But in the end I didn’t need to. While this is not my favorite book by Bryant, (I prefer her more emotional books) I absolutely enjoyed this. Bryant set out to write a fun and flirty book and I think she was absolutely successful in doing that.

The premise is about a 24 year old woman Cassie, who was recently cut off from financial help that takes a job as a live-in Nanny so she can continue going to school for her Masters. Her job is easy watching a cute little boy named Noah, but the job becomes much more complicated when she starts developing feelings for her older boss. Will her boss Brook feel the same or are they bound to be stuck in an employee/employer relationship forever?

As I mentioned above there is a lot of dislike for the characters of Cassie. I’ll be honest, characters in their early twenties are my least favorite to read about. I want characters in their 30’s and later or YA age. I don’t mean everyone (and if you are in your early 20’s reading this review I don’t mean you) but most of us are real PITA’s in our 20’s. We thought we were all grown up when we actually hardly knew anything, so not my favorite age for characters. Due to the complaints and plain dislike for Cassie, I was prepared to feel the same….but I didn’t. I feel like I read a different book than most people. I don’t get the Cassie hate at all. I mean yes, Brook is a much more interesting character. She’s more established, has more of a background history, and is a baby ice queen which I always enjoy in romances. And I think Brook would have made a more interesting choice to be in her POV, but I don’t blame Bryant for wanting to try to write in the voice of a younger character. And in the end I just could not see anything wrong with Cassie. A few people complained that single Cassie flirted with attractive, nice, and seemingly intelligent women. She’s 24 and single, why would she not flirt her ass off? Some people accused her of acting entitled because she was upset her parents were not helping her with school or living expenses anymore. If you were 24 and your parents cut you off financially out of the blue because you wanted to be a scientist, would you not be hurt? It’s not like she wanted to be a wandering minstrel player hoping to amuse the Queen, instead she’s trying for a good career. And really these are wealthy people problems that she’s allowed to have coming from that kind of family. That’s her character’s background and she doesn’t know any different. It’s just interesting to see the different opinions on a character I found basically harmless.

I only really had two baby issues that bothered me. One, I can’t believe Cassie’s parents let Nana (grandma) drive that death trap of a car. I didn’t think that was believable because even if Nana was being stubborn, you just set fire to the car in the middle of the night and get her a new one. Secondly, I just don’t like the name Brook. I need the “E”, I need Brooke. I kept calling her Brock the whole book becuase my brain refused to read it any other way. As you can see these are very important issues I had… yeah basically no real issues.

I enjoyed the romance. While the chemistry was a little more subdued than normal for a Bryant book, the heat from the sex scenes just kept building and building. The sex was used to really connect the characters and after that I believed in them as a potential couple. I do want to mention this book is more on the low angst side. With all the Cassie complaints I expected something more to happen, but no, just a little push-pull and some outside factors, but all in all very low angst.

In conclusion, this was the fun and flirty romance I was hoping for. While I don’t understand the Cassie dislike, I have mad respect for the reviewers that felt that way so there is something going on about Cassie that some people have issues with. This is an easy one for me to recommend to romance fans, just beware; I don’t know what side of the Cassie scale you might fall on.

Cassie Miller has disappointed her parents by dropping out of medical school to pursue a career she prefers so they have cut off all financial support. She’s 24 years old, broke and in need of a part time job while she goes to grad school.. A chance for free room and board and a nanny job caring for the son of Brook Wellington seems like a perfect fit. Too bad she can’t stop crushing on her new boss and her adorable kid.

Cassie is a piece of work. She’s young, has her whole life ahead of her and has a very healthy libido. She knows she shouldn’t cross that employee/employer barrier. She needs this job. That she is tempted by her young charge Noah’s teachers is not unexpected. Problem is, Brook seems to be spending more and more time with Cassie and the sparks of attraction make her feel guilty even considering dating other women.

Oh temptation, what a cruel master you are. Wikipedia defines temptation as an immediate, pleasurable urge and/or impulse that disrupts an individual's ability to wait for their long-term goals. I don’t know which is worse, Cassie risking her job with her inability to not lust after Brook or Brook clearly breaking unwritten employer/employee rules of engagement. What’s a girl in love gonna do?

I enjoyed this light-hearted romp through the emotional minefield of temptations too hard to resist. There may be an age and economic gap (although Cassie had been raised in a wealthy home so is not uncomfortable with the exclusive lifestyle the Wellingtons occupy) but it’s clear from the opening scenes that Cassie and Brook are destined to be more than a nanny and working mom. Bryant breathes life into her characters making the reader feel all the emotions they feel, conflicted, enamored and illogical though they may be. Cassie’s grandmother should have her own book she is so well drawn and her few scenes with Cassie make her as memorable as Brook’s shy son Noah.

I may have had some eye rolling moments when every adult female character Cassie meets turns out to be lesbian but that didn’t distract from my eager voyeuristic desire to see Brook and Cassie acknowledge their attraction. This read gave me all the feels. I was laughing, cringing and teary-eyed at various points in this novel and that for me makes it a winner.

This has been a sweet, hot romance where a girl, Cassie, who has to work as a sitter to pay for her studies ends up working as a full-time nanny for a woman who has a six-year-old son. Said woman, Brook, is a total ice queen, through and through, haughty and unaprochable, or thats is what Cassie thinks. As Cassie, through the interaction with Brook's son, Noah, gradually gets into the world of this little family and build liaisons between them. Then, because of the close coexistence and some things that happen during the history, the bonds are getting closer and closer, in spite of certain problems that they all both must face.

The two women have a certain age difference, Cassie is 24 and Brook 38, although we are constantly reminded that Brook looks much younger. Cassie mentally, certainly doesn't looks older.

For me the story is well- paced and has enough interesting ingredients to make it a good romance.

I always love Bryant’s books. When asked, I always put her in my top 5 authors list. I feel like I am going to be in the minority here, but this one was my least favorite of hers. For me this book was okay, but small things that annoyed me stacked up. When it isn’t one big issue about a book standing out, it is always difficult for me to write a review. This is especially the case when it is an author you enjoy. With this review, I struggled, because the book isn’t bad… it just wasn’t for me.

I love a good age gap romance. I also love social class differences within romances. This one checks both of my boxes. Throw in a cute kid that adds to the story, and almost always you will have a big win for me. I asked myself over and over while reading this book why I wasn’t loving it. I feel like the majority just came down to personal preference and those annoying tiny things that bother some of us, which have no impact on others. This book had so many tiny items that annoyed me.
-Cassie being immature.
- ex: Rolling her eyes… all the time
-Her parents purchasing and then taking back a Lexus but allowing their parent (Cassie’s Grandmother) to drive a POS.
-The fine line between employer and employee and power. This one felt like it wasn’t clear enough for me. When one person holds all the power, and a line isn’t distinctively drawn it bleeds over to abuse of power for me.

There was more but those were just a few of the ones that bothered me most.

The sex scenes were steamy but for me, the romance was just okay. I didn’t feel a lot of chemistry between Brook and Cassie. I think if you are going to overcome a lot of obstacles, employer/employee, age gap, a socio-economic class difference (kind of) you need to make me believe it is all worth it. I also need to believe the relationship is strong enough to overcome them. I kind of feel this is a “happy for now” book. However, I think most will enjoy this one and feel like it is worth the read. I am going to put it in my “reread at a later date” pile and revisit the book to see if changes the way I feel about it.

Unpopular opinion alert...

I love Kris Bryant. In fact, [book:Breakthrough|36299061] is on my all-time favorites list! This book though? Not quite up to the level that I hoped for and expected.

I can't quite put my finger on it, but part of the reason that I think this book flopped for me was that I just didn't care for the main, Cassie. With the entire story being told from her POV, it really detracted from my overall enjoyment. It bothered me to see Cassie acting so young and flighty in more than one way, but mainly in the way she was attracted and flitting around attraction with multiple people. Something about her just bothered me and made me think of her as a stuck up rich girl, even though her parents cut her off for the bulk of the story.

The story felt like it dragged to me also. I had trouble buying into the chemistry between Cassie and Brook, possibly because we only saw Cassie's POV. Personally, I wish this had been told from Brook's side instead as she felt like a much more interesting and dynamic character. I just had trouble being invested in this relationship overall.

Bryant is a phenomenal writer and there's no way I'm giving up on her, but this one just fell flat for me. I will be first in line for her next book still though! 3.25 stars.

This book was well written and engaging. The two main characters were both likeable and multi-dimensional, the pace in which their relationship was developed was believable, and they had great sexual chemistry. My one tripe is that I didn't really feel the romance and didn't really buy into the love. The story was told entirely from Cassie's point of view - I felt Brooke's perspective was missing and I didn't really get why she would be interested in Cassie as a long-term partner given how completely different their lives were. Having more of a glimpse into Brooke's feelings and thoughts would have helped.

This was a very cute book. Though Cassie annoyed me from time to time I still found myself rooting for her. Sometimes the way the author had her think about other woman made me rethink how I felt about her as a character. But compared to other romance novels it was tame and nice.

Thank you Netgalley for providing me with an arc.

Cassie Miller’s parents cut off all funding when she dropped out of medical school so she takes a nanny job for millionaire businesswoman Brook Wellington. But when both women discover their mutual attraction, it gets harder not to give in to temptation…

In her acknowledgments, the author says that after writing some pretty heavy books she decided to write something more playful. And she delivered. As in really, really playful. At first sight, this novel follows the cliche of boss-nanny romance but the execution makes it really worth a read. I liked that the author takes her time in building up the leads’ chemistry and turns the heat up slowly, but once the hotness is on, it burns.

People who have read her Ms. Bryant ‘s erotica novella ‘Shameless‘ under the pseudonym of Brit Ryder, know that this author can write intimacy well. This is more a romance than erotica but the sex scenes are as varied and hot as in ‘Shameless’. It’s a step under Meghan O’Brien’s books but it’s nevertheless hot.

Typical of this author, this novel is written in first person from the exclusive point of view of Cassie’s, which provides an aura of mystery around ice-queen Brook, a guarded and enigmatic businesswoman. Even though there is an age gap of 14 years between the main characters, this is balanced well as Cassie is a woman more mature for her age, who maintains the freshness of a person in her 20s. Brook isn’t a larger-than-life ice-queen like Lee Winter’s characters but she is very reserved and cautious and it’s a pleasure to see her thaw in and out of the bedroom.

The cast of secondary characters are very well developed and all are relevant to the plot or subplot. My favourite is Nanna, Cassie’s grandma, who is a spitfire and super funny. Both leads’ extended families help to bring the main characters to life and justify their actions and personalities. Brook’s 6-year-old son is a very well written character and plays the main role in getting the leads together.

Overall, a really hot lesbian erotic romance that won’t disappoint Ms. Bryant’s fans. 4.5 stars.

All my favourite tropes in one book… I knew right away this was going to be a great book, I just wasn’t prepared for how wonderful it actually was.

Since I received this book, I’ve read it three times, then I got the paperback for Christmas and read it twice on vacation. This book is that read blind with no spoilers because it’s going to take you on the ride of your life.

Firstly, let’s talk about tropes. This book is an Age-gap romance with a stunningly beautiful and rich Ice Queen who is attracted to her kid’s nanny! That’s five of my top tropes in ONE BOOK… Ice Queen, Age-Gap, Mums, Rich-Poor and Boss – Employee! I’m still floating from getting all my needs met in this book.

Secondly and most importantly, it works. This book has taken its place as the book to beat in 2020, and it’s going to be a hard task let me tell you.

The book is written solely from Cassie’s point of view and it’s wonderful to be inside her head. She sees the world in all its beautiful complexity and she really sees Brooke in the same light.

Cassie was definitely the hero of the book for me. Even though she is younger than Brooke, I think in many ways she was wiser and had experienced more of the highs and lows of life so when it came to Brooke, she was evenly matched. I want to be Cassie when I grow up.

Mostly I want to be Cassie because of Brooke. When it comes to the sexiest woman ever to be written into existence, it’s her. In the dictionary next to sexy is a photo of Brooke Wellington. She’s so icy and removed but then there are moments of complete tenderness with her son Noah, that made me melt into a massive puddle. I swooned so hard I kept getting dizzy! #perfection

The sexual chemistry between Brooke and Cassie was prominent for the first meeting. It simmers under the surface then explodes into the hottest of moments… The sex is not only steamy but damn right erotic in certain sexy interludes. It left me feeling all hot and bothered more than once.

It must be said though that the non-sexual intimacy is amazing too. We have an Ice Queen who doesn’t show affection to people other than her son easily. So, when she shows the smallest moments of tenderness to Cassie it blew my mind and gave me all the feels.

This book is an emotional rollercoaster that you’re going to get swept away in. Let it happen… just bring the tissues and the vino and enjoy the ride.

I adored everything about this book. Temptation is my definition of Lesbian Fiction Perfection.

I absolutely loved everything about this book! Cassie and Brooke were excellent main characters and their relationship developed at a nice easy pace. Cassie was definitely more relatable as she was more open with the reader. Brooke was definitely an enigma but that was what drew Cassie in. Brooke's son Noah was adorable and wonderful and added a super sweet note to this sexy novel. Another great read by Kris Bryant!

Perspective is key in this review. For what I imagine the book was intended to be for the reader, a hot romance, it delivers very well.

For me the dialogue didn't seem realistic but the story had plenty of pace and fun characters, including young Noah.

3 Stars. Cassie Miller is broke after her parents cut her off for leaving med school. Cassie starts to nanny and then is asked to be a full time nanny to Brook Wellington's son, Brook offers a good salary and a place to stay and Cassie can't help but say yes. Brook is beautiful and successful and Cassie can't help but have a crush on her. Brook is closed off and does not open up to Cassie at first. Cassie starts to become friends with Brook's son and Brook seems to be jealous about it. They both start to spend more time together and see where it goes.

Cassie and Brook have a huge age difference, about 14 years which bothered me throughout the entire novel. Brook is so successful and Cassie is just a 25 year old college student and seems to sort of getting her life together. Their whole relationship seemed to bother me a little. Their chemistry is okay, it sort of seem to come out of no where. Brook does not seem interested as much in Cassie in the beginning of the book and they seem to not have many interactions. It does evolved and Brook sees Cassie take care of her son and do a good job with it. I did enjoy this book, as I do usually enjoy Kris Bryant novels in general. This was not my favorite novel but it was easy to read and I did get sucked into seeing where their relationship would go.

I am a big Kris Bryant fan! I also like age gap romances and rich girl/poor girl romances. Temptation has all of those things, but there is a small twist on the latter. Cassie grew up in an upper middle class family but was cut off from her parents when she decided to drop out of med school and pursue a graduate degree in an area her parents didn't approve of. Brook is the rich older woman in this one. She is under 40 but still much older Cassie. Since this one is told from the viewpoint of Cassie, we see that she is attracted to Brook at the start of the romance. We are unsure about if Brook is attracted to Cassie until the book is well underway. Cassie is ends up getting hired by Brook to be the nanny to her young son and things take off from there.

As I was reading this one, I realized I read a romance very similar to this one. I can't figure out who wrote it and that is still bothering me, but I still enjoyed this one. Brook is a sort of an Ice Queen, but eventually Cassie is able to thaw her out. As I was reading this one, I thought it was going to be a slow burn, but oh was I wrong. The sex is steamy and I found myself reading one of the sex scenes twice because it was that HOT. I really enjoy most of the things about this romance but the aspect that this one was very similar to another romance.

I still give it 4 stars.

This book promised to be everything I love in a book: age gap, character has a child, boss and employee relationship and a ice queen, so naturally I was very excited to read Kris Bryants new book.

As much as I did enjoy the read and found myself engaged in the story I was slightly disappointed with the connection between the two characters. It just didn't fully connect the way Bryant can normally do with her characters.

I am however keen to do a re read or listen via an audiobook if available as I feel I might enjoy it more the second time round.

Kris Bryant is continuing her streak of winners. This book has everything. Ice Queen , romance, age gap and she made me sob, not cry, but sob. These are also the hottest sex scenes Kris has ever written. Single Mom Brook Wellington, the ice queen at the helm of the Wellington Corp, sees how Cassie is with kids at a soccer game and offers her a job as nanny for her son Noah. Noah and Cassie become friends right away but Brook is standoffish until an almost tragedy melts her some. Their relationship

Another One!
Once again, Kris Bryant did not disappoint with her ability to write a compelling story. In this story, Cassie starts working as a nanny for the very beautiful and accomplished Brook (who runs a family empire).
It is interesting to see the attraction that develops between Cassie & Brook, and how they struggle to maintain the employee/employer boundaries that should not be crossed. And once the boundaries are crossed, can Cassie truly have a relationship with Brook without being accused of only liking Brook because of the money she has?
