MY 600TH REVIEW

Cassie has been cut off by her parents when she quit med school to follow her dreams. She is offered a job as a nanny for the rich and gorgeous Brook’s son Noah. She can’t say no, especially when the job comes with health insurance, a car to use while tending Noah and even an apartment. Brook is even willing to work with her school hours. Add in the chance to be hear the charismatic woman and Cassie is all in! Gorgeous Ice Queen Brook is in a bind. She works in her family corporation and that demands lots of time. She spends as much time with Noah as she can but she needs help and after watching Cassie handle a difficult child she was babysitting, she knows she is the one for the job. The only problem is that Cassie is just too beautiful and endearing….and she finds herself melting under her spell.

Oh how I do love this book!! It was so sweet and wonderful and lovely… It is a slow burn romance that is a lot of fun. There are so many great characters, Brook’s family, Nana, Noah and of course Brook and Cassie. I fell in love with all of them, well, most of them anyway. There was so much love of all sorts in this book, Mother and child, grandmother and granddaughter, the love of a family for one another and of course the romantic love shared between these two incredible women. There were sexy bits too, that made me all hot and bothered. I truly adored this book and I think you should give it a try!

What an entertaining read. Cassie Miller is looking for a steady income so she can be her own person, live her own life, and make her own decisions. I liked how Cassie stepped away from family money to pursue what she was interested in, teaching. Brook Wellington lives her life for work and her son, Noah. Brook appears to have it all together but she realizes she is unable to do it all and "calls" on the help of a nanny. Once that decision is made, all three of their lives are changed forever. I enjoy reads about family, individuals coming to an understanding about self as it relates to life going on around them. Brook's not so nice sister Gwen and her nice and funny sister-in-law Erica are wonderful secondary characters. Cassie is quirky and full of life. Brook is serious and stiff. There is also an age gap between the two that is well handled and does not take away from the story. The tension, give and take, and understanding that no one is perfect only added to this wonderful read.

I'm a big fan of Kris Bryant. She has a lot of 5 star books that I've read and re-read before. This one is good, but it wasn't my favorite. I'm not sure what it was, since it was still very sexy and the MC's chemistry was wonderful per usual, but I felt some other parts were lacking. I think the B stories just didn't hold my interest.

Surprisingly I thought Cassie was more in control of her life than the "ice queen" Brook. I also felt more connected to her character, probably because most of the book was from her POV. I wish we got a little more time with Brook on just her everyday life, whether it's what her work is like or a little bit more with her and her brother. I could have done with more details to help flesh everyone out.

Overall it was still a good book and I would recommend people to read it.

With a title such as Temptation, I would have been disappointed if there hadn’t been a couple of steamy scenes. No worries, Kris Bryant totally delivered, steam and more.

After reading The Traveling Triple-C Incorporeal Circus by Alanna McFall, I needed something much lighter. The good news is, so did Kris Bryant. As she explains in the foreword, “After writing about a mass shooting, a person struggling with anxiety, and a survivor of a plane crash, I decided to write something flirty and fun”. Mission accomplished. You can always count on Bryant to write endearing and layered characters, even in stories like this one, when most of the angst comes from the not-so-simple act of falling in love.

Cassie Miller is a twenty-four-year-old graduate student whose well-off doctor parents cut her off when she quit med school after her first year to study environmental science instead. Cassie had to cut back on her way of life, move in with her grandmother (the wonderful Nana) and work as a babysitter to pay for school. Things start to look up when multi-millionaire Brook Wellington offers her a job as a nanny (complete with her own apartment, a Range Rover she can drive on her work hours and a salary high enough to pay her school fees). Brook’s six-year-old son Noah is a shy and very sweet boy, and Cassie falls in love with him almost immediately. Now, if only she could refrain from falling for his beautiful and sexy as fuck (I’m quoting) mother as well… Spoiler: she won’t, she’ll fall head over heels for the older woman, and it’ll be magnificent, which is how it goes in romance novels (and sometimes IRL too if you’re really lucky).

I don’t even know where to start on the characters. They’re all excellent, and, except for Brook’s sister Gwen, not monolithic (and even Gwen is believable, as unyielding as she seems). Cassie and Brook are the best, you’ll want to be friends with them. Cassie sees through Brook’s ice queen persona from the start, to the softie whose priority is her son’s well-being. Cassie’s hurt from her quarrel with her parents gives her a sarcastic edge, but she’s really a sweetie at heart, and I love her relationships with her grandmother and with Noah. Brook’s family is rather interesting too, from her parents to her sister and brother (who left the family business to make it on his own as a chef) to her sister-in-law. The smaller characters – Cassie’s best friend, Noah’s teachers, Brook’s ex – feel genuine too.

As I’ve written before, I’m not a big fan of age gap romances. However, I thought it worked really well here. The fourteen-year difference between Brook and Cassie is real but they are both at moments in their life where what they have in common is more important than what they don’t share and I honestly can imagine them building on that.

I needed a lighter read and that’s what Temptation is. The good news is, light can be really good too.

I received a copy from the publisher and I am voluntarily leaving a review.

I loved this book. I devoured it in 2 days because the tempo made it impossible to put down! If not for my job getting in the way it wouldve been a one sitting read. The chemistry between the main characters was palpable and I was rooting for them as much as Erica the wine loving sister-in-law. I did find the Gwen character a little one dimensional and expected more fleshing out there. It seemed the “villain” characters were a bit caricature like but honestly I moved right past them to get to the romance! Will definitely read again.

This book was a surprising find for me. The story made me laugh, cry, and contemplate life via Cassie, Brooke, Noah, and a cast of interesting secondary characters. I enjoyed the boss/nanny and age gap dynamics even though the latter wasn't a major focus until the end. The relationship that Cassie developed with her charge, Noah, was heartwarming as she pulled him out if his shell and he became like family for her. Cassie and Brooke tried ademently to deny their feelings for each other, but their chemistry was just too strong to resist. Their love scenes sizzled and were varied in content. I'd definitely recommend this book to others and give it 5 single nods!

This book has a great first line. I was hooked from the start.

Cassie decided to go against her parent's wishes and drop out of medical school. They decided to cut her off. In need of money to fund her graduate studies, she takes on work watching children. Brooke runs her affluent family's business while her CEO father makes deals hobnobbing on the green. She is in need of a full time nanny for her son.

I really liked both of these characters. Cassie had a lot of chutzpah, likely inherited from her firecracker grandma. She knew that she didn't want to follow in her parent's medical footsteps and decided to pave her own way despite having to give up their support. Although she was raised with money and privileged, she wasn't above going out and doing the work to achieve her personal goals. Brooke is somewhat of an ice queen but shows glimpses of a softer side when she interacts with her son.

This is an age gap romance, which I am honestly tired of reading. I feel like it must be a lesbian romance mandate for publishing these days. And in the grand scheme of things, I don't think that it enhanced the story in any way as it wasn't a huge conflict. Sure, it was mentioned and there were concerns in there, but nothing truly dramatic enough to make the gap a necessity. Having said all of that, the fact that it wasn't made a big deal was a huge positive and made it so it didn't bother me so much.

There was so much to like about this story, though. The interactions. The tension. The jealousy. I liked how Cassie falls for Brooke's son before she ever falls for Brooke. I love a good forbidden love story. And what is more forbidden than wanting to gain intimate acquaintance of your much younger employee? There was a surprising amount of emotion. Bryant mentioned in her acknowledgement that she was looking to write a flirty novel. I wouldn't categorize this book as that. It was deep, sweet, and felt very real. It even made me cry.

There was quite a bit of steamy sex once things got going. I expected it, so it was OK. I mean... I did read the title and see the cover, after all.

Overall, this was a fun story about two women that can't find a way to deny their mutual attraction, and have an even harder time of denying their growing feelings for one another.

I recommend this to those who like to read about romance, rich-ice-queen-single-mothers, struggling college students who attract everyone, childcare, private schools, estranged family, ski resorts, and video games.

4.5 stars

Kris Bryant is fast becoming a go-to author for me. I've read and loved a number of her books now, and this one is no exception.

The leading ladies are polar opposites yet so meant to be. I loved watching their relationship unfold. Brook's son, Noah, added depth to their story. Hell, he was the crux of them getting together.

There are some likable, and unlikable, side characters and one who stole my heart and broke it too. Bless you, Nana.

My one tinsy-winsy quibble is that the story is told completely from Cassie's perspective. More than once, I wished to hear Brook's point-of-view too.

This author seems to have a thing for writing from one character's perspective, but she's so talented, I'd be all over a book told from both MC's point-of-view.

5 stars for Temptation by Kris Bryant

Cassie Miller needs a job. After a year in medical school, she dropped out after realizing being a Doctor wasn’t for her. She decided to go to graduate school for her masters in Environmental Sciences followed by her Ph.D. Unfortunately, her parents, both M.D.s have cut her funding completely when she dropped out of Med School. No car, no stipend, no tuition, and no contact with Cassie. At the moment she is living with her grandmother Nana and driving her old Acura.

Brook Wellington of the Wellingtons wants a live-in nanny for her six year old son, Noah. She offers Cassie a sweet deal – a one year contract, good pay, health insurance, a furnished apartment above the garage and with time to go to her classes. Cassie is hesitant because she has never been a nanny and she has a crush on Brook. Brook is the COO of her family’s worldwide import and export business. Of course, Cassie takes the job plus she is already smitten with Noah.

I recently read a book that I felt there was little chemistry between the two MCs. Not this book! You feel it almost immediately. It goes to show you what a good writer Bryant is because this story is told only from Cassie’s perspective. Confession – Ice Queens are my favorite and Brook is one of the Iciest I’ve met and yet she melts when with her son. I also love age gap romances and this one is14 years (Cassie is 24, Brook is 38). Not a large gap, IMO but a gap nonetheless. It was a good choice that Cassie was from a wealthy family. Although not nearly as wealthy as the Wellingtons, Cassie was comfortable around the entitled and knew how to react or not react when around them.

I’d love to gush more but I don’t want to spoil it. I will say that this book has a relatively large cast but it didn’t feel overwhelming. I do want to give a shout out for Nana, Cassie’s grandmother. Everyone needs a Nana in their lives.

Hmmm… this is definitely in my Top 5 favorite books of the year.

This is a book about Emotions! This isn't just a romance! It's a brilliant mix of family, love and sacrifice! While the blurb is not something new, the way the author handled this was very different!

The part that I enjoyed the most was the incredible characters that the author introduced us to! Every single character had a part to play in this incredible read! The family dynamics from both ends made so much sense and you could easily relate to. The beauty of this read is that it tackles so many things and yet nothing fell out!

So, there was the age gap aspect which was done very well, there was the ice queen MC, there was the adorable kid, there was an awesome Grandma that was the glue of one of the families, there was the incredibly rich family and lastly, there was the cute, loving and adorable nanny :)
The chemistry between the MCs was off the chart! The sex scenes were so good and not repetitive at all! You could literally feel how one of the MCs is breaking her walls chapter by chapter! The writing style was so good!
You know it was just one of those books that you really didn't want to see it come to an end!
I would recommend this book to everyone! It will keep you entertained, it will make you feel good, it will make you feel sad, it will make you feel angry. It will just make you FEEL. Kris Bryant is a very talented author that keeps impressing me!

My rating is a solid 5.

An honest review thanks to NetGalley. Wow. This book was off the charts and easily my favorite of Bryant's. Cassie herself was amazing and her personality and journey though this book had me laughing and crying at times. Her relationship with Noah and Brook had me turning page after page to see more. This was absolutely outstanding!

I RECEIVED AN ARC COPY OF THE BOOK FROM THE PUBLISHER VIA NETGALLEY AND VOLUNTARILY LEAVING MY REVIEW

BROOK WORKS AS A COO IN THE FAMILY BUSINESS. SHE HAS A SIX YEAR OLD SON CALLED NOAH.

CASSIE IS A STUDENT AND ENDS UP TAKING A JOB AS A NANNY FOR BROOK'S SON NOAH.

THIS WAS A SLOW STARTER FOR ME. AFTER I GOT OVER THE INITIAL FIRST COUPLE OF CHAPTERS THEN I GOT RIGHT INTO THE BOOK AND COULDN'T PUT IT DOWN. I LOVED THE CHARACTERS INCLUDING THE SECONDARY CHARACTERS EXCLUDING BROOK'S SISTER GWEN, SHE WAS A FIRST CLASS BITCH. MY FAVOURITE SECONDARY CHARACTER WOULD HAVE TO BE ERICA, SHE WAS A LAUGH AND I LIKED IT WHEN ERICA AND CASSIE WAS DRINKING TOGETHER. THE STORY LINE WAS GREAT AND THE PACE WAS JUST RIGHT.

IF YOU LIKE AGE-GAP ROMANCES THEN THIS COULD BE THE BOOK FOR YOU.

* I received a copy of this book via NetGalley in exchange for a honest review.

This book is for sure my favorite Kris Bryant one and probably one of my personal best five for 2019.

Brook Wellington is super rich, comes from old money and is a workaholic ice queen... Cassie is a college student who's working part time as a nanny and is hired by Brook in order to take care of her six years old son Noah.
The attraction between the two MCs is there since the first time they meet but they both try to overcome their emotions mainly because of their working relationship and their different social/financial status, plus Brook is 14 years older.

The book is written from Cassie's POV and in first person but we can perfectly understand how Brook thinks/acts and empathize with her situation due to the superb writing. Even the supporting characters and dynamics are interesting and well fleshed, from Cassie's grandmother to Brook's son, even the evil sister Gwen. They all fit in the plot and play a key role for the MCs.

The chemistry between Cassie and Brook is honestly off the charts and the sex scenes are really hot and realistic. These two are in lust with each other.

I totally recommend this book and I cannot wait for Bryant's next one.

I love Kris Bryant’s one word titles. They seem to capture the complete gist of her storylines. Temptation was definitely the right word for this story.

Brook Wellington, 38, was the rich and powerful COO of Wellington Enterprises, but her most important role was mother to a six year old son, Noah.
Cassie, 24, a graduate student lived with her Nana after her parents cut her off financially when she dropped out of Med school to pursue a degree in environmental sciences. In order to earn some money, Cassie worked part time as a babysitter. After meeting at a children’s soccer game, Brook requested Cassie to be the live in nanny for her son. Cassie welcomed the opportunity to leave Nana’s, earn a good salary with health insurance, and still continue her degree. Noah quickly bonded with the easy going personable Cassie, much to the delight of his rather reserved and guarded mother. Slowly Brook let her guard down around Cassie and Cassie became even more enamored with the relaxed and fun Brook…and eventually, the temptation between the women became too strong to resist.

Kris Bryant’s writing always seem to flow smoothly and clearly from start to finish. I enjoyed the slow pace of the romance as well as the personalities of the characters, even those less likable such as Brook’s ex and her sister. The author has a way of engaging her readers with these interesting multidimensional characters dealing with realistic issues.

The author also gives her readers so much more that the main relationship between Brook and Cassie. She pulls you into the lives of the secondary characters and wants you to feel their emotions as well, whether it’s happiness or anger. For example, you sensed the overall relief and happiness Nana felt when Cassie and her parents reconciled during Christmas dinner. You felt Noah’s joy of seeing his other mother and the love he had for her. You could also feel the panic and raw emotions displayed by several characters after traumatic events took place. Everything combined just made this story a great read.

Kris Bryant has created something very special with her novel Temptation. She has written a beautiful romance filled with emotion. This story made me cry, and that doesn’t happen very often.

This is a tale of contradictions. The main characters are so different that it’s hard to see how they could end up together. There is an age gap. Brooke is fourteen years older than Cassie. There is a financial gap with Cassie a struggling college student while Brooke is the COO of her family’s multi-million-dollar shipping empire. There is also a class disparity, and even worse, Brooke is Cassie’s boss since she hires Cassie to be her six-year-old son’s nanny. All of these problems should have kept the two apart, but the attraction and chemistry between the two is very strong.

This is also a tale of love; love of family and friends, but most of all, a romantic love that can overcome all the hurdles the two main characters must endure, if they can find the courage to do so. The writing is excellent, as we expect from such a talented author. The characters are easy to connect with, and even fall in love with. The story is amazing, and it is a perfect book to read during this holiday season.

Temptation has my highest recommendation. Just be sure to have a box of tissue close by as you read.

This book had several alluring themes running through it: ice queen boss/young grad student nanny, age gap romance, and rich girl/poor girl. Bryant also peppered the story with intriguing family drama that contributed nicely to the overall plot. All of these elements fed the tension between the two main characters and helped build an engaging storyline.

The pacing was perfect, and well executed. Bryant took her time building the relationship between her two leading ladies. From their first meeting, the chemistry between Cassie and Brook began to bubble at a slow simmer, and once they get together--wow! Their dynamic was intense and the sex scenes were hot! However, Bryant never presented Cassie and Brook's romance as tawdry or sleazy. She developed it slowly so it could become what it was intended, a lovely romance.

Brook captured my imagination immediately with her ice queen persona. She had a soft side to her though, as ice queens often do, and her soft side became visible any time her adorably sweet son Noah was near her. Brook was a wonderful caring mother that loved her son more than anything. He was the center of her world and she was very protective of him. I must admit I developed a bit of a crush on Brook. She was beautiful, intelligent and a bit of a mystery at times. I could not help but be drawn to her character.

Cassie's character was nicely developed. She changed and matured over the course of this story, and that's what made her memorable. I liked her instantly. She was spunky, quick witted, direct, loyal and dependable. She fell hard for not only Brook, but six year old Noah, too. Some of my favorite scenes were the ones where Cassie interacted with Noah. I saw her nurturing gentleness shine through in those moments.

There were some fabulous secondary characters in this story. Brook's sister-in-law Erica was marvelous. I loved the friendship that developed between Erica and Cassie. They were quite entertaining together. I also adored Nana, Cassie's grandmother. She was a fundamental part of Cassie's world and I loved their interactions. Their conversations made me laugh. There was an honesty between them that was quite lovely to see.

This book ticked all the right boxes for me. It had likable leading characters. The supporting characters were interesting. The storyline was engaging and well developed. The writing was solid and the ending was satisfying. I would recommend Temptation it to anyone who enjoys contemporary lesfic romances that have age gap themes and ice queens that are just waiting for the right girl to come along and thaw them.

This is definitely a sleeping-with-the-nanny trope book, but it is well done. Easy read, and while the story arc may be predicable, there's enough character development to keep you drawn in.

After being kicked out and cut off by her parents for quitting med school, Cassie needs a job fast. Business exec and heiress Brook Wellington offer Cassie a job nanny-ing for her six-year old son Noah - who is adorable. While struck by Brook's looks from the get-go, Cassie is determined to keep things professional - besides between her ecology Master's classes and taking care of Noah, who has time for a dalliance. Brook is fairly, newly divorced from Noah's other mum, and has no intention of becoming THAT woman who sleeps with her much younger nanny. But walls begin to crumble and the two women begin to fall not just in lust but potentially in love. However, to make it work, they will need to fight for their relationship.

Ice Queen, age gap romance, hot sex scenes and written by Kris Bryant?? Heck yes!
Cassie is a 26 year old college student whose parents stopped paying her way when she drops out of Med school. She loses everything but knew being a doctor like her parents is just not what she wants to do with her life. On her own for the first time she decides to work as a Nanny to help pay her way through school.
This is where she meets Ice Queen Brooke and her adorable son Noah. Brooke hires Cassie to take care of her son and Cassie can’t help but want to thaw her icy exterior. What starts off as temptation turns to Cassie falling in love with both Brooke and Noah. Can Brooke forget the 14 year age gap and just let go?
I really enjoyed this book and loved Cassies Nana while hating Brookes sister Gwen..lol
Read this book! You won’t regret it.

Cute nannies and hot bosses seem to really fire authors’ imaginations for romance with various degrees of success. This one totally kills it giving us the whole aww-shucks wash of romance that kept us smiling long after finishing the book.

Twenty-eight year old Cassie Miller ‘s parents are completely disappointed in their daughter when she drops out of med school after a year and chooses to pursue environmental studies. They cut her off and the hitherto financially well-off Cassie is in a financial fix. She becomes a nanny to earn money while continuing studies. Handling one nightmare child with patience and humour leads her to a much better situation – nanny to sweet six-year-old Noah, son of ice-hot multi-millionaire Brook Wellington, COO of the Wellington businesses in grocery stores and import-export. Brook is kind, fair but professional and private. Not that it stops Cassie’s attraction from blossoming into a crush.

Cassie is cute, confident and sweet. Her relationship with her supportive Nana is heart-warming. Her ability to connect with both the kids she is nanny to is believable and impressive. She is written her age and quite realistically finds other women also attractive while nursing the kernel of her crush on her professionally distant boss. But it is Brook who floored us. We’d expected a cold, curt and maybe even cruel Ice Queen blowing hot and blowing cold. But Bryant totally thrilled us by making Brook absolutely likeable to start and outright lovable as the story progressed. Brook is unwaveringly polite and kind during the whole slow burn phase and one she is in, she is all in. There is nothing half-hearted or cagey about her involvement with Cassie. She doesn’t try to hide, doesn’t have second thoughts, doesn’t emotionally withdraw and doesn’t get cowed down by her older sister’s judgement and bitchiness. We love characters who are open, honest and do not play mind- and emotion-games creating unnecessary angst. Cassie and Brook also have great chemistry and we loved the sex scenes too.

This one is Romance Central and completely recommended.

PS: We wish the whole Nana track had played out a little differently.

PPS: We are a little confused as to why the Wellington family business is called ‘global shipping empire’ in the synopsis while it is grocery stores and import-export in the book.

Brooke is a busy woman she COO of her family's multinational company although her son is her main focus she can't be at two places at once so she is looking for a live in nanny to help look after her six year old son Noah.

Cassie has just got cut-off by her parents because she decide to follow her passion which is environmental science she lives with her Nana because she broke she works at agency taking care of children. The moment she sees Brooke at her charge soccer game she instantly attract to her Cassie always had a thing for powerful women. Cassie is shock when she learn that Brooke request her to be Brooke son nanny this caught her off guard because the two minutes they spent together she thought Brooke was a ice queen but she could tell there was heart at the way she looks at her son.

Cassie takes the job because she needs the money and give her a chance to focus on her classes. As she and Noah bind she starts to help chip at the wall Brooke has up and you see a kind person underneath.

I like Cassie even though she young, I like how she open up to everyone she didn't hide anything. Love her relationship with her Nana how her Nana doesn't sugar-coated her words.

This was a good romance I like that it slow burn you got invest it in their relationship. Even though I knew Cassie and Brooke would end up together if it didn't go that route I saw chemistry with the other two women that are frequent in Noah life his teacher Trina and his violin teacher Nataile. I wouldn't had mind if Cassie ending up with one of them.
