This is the third book in the Tanglewood Village series and follows Edie, a single mom who works at the wedding shop in the village, and James, a member of the upper-crust. Edie is secretly designing a second wedding dress for society bride Tia, who is not happy with her mother-in-law's choice. When she meets best man James, there's an immediate spark between them. But they're from completely different worlds and Edie is convinced that their relationship will never work.

The Tanglewood Wedding Shop by Lilac Mills is a heartwarming and romantic story, with realistic characters, a lovely setting, and a sweet romance. The plot is engaging, well-paced, and kept me hooked until the last page. If you have read the previous books in this series, then you'll be happy to see some familiar faces in this book. I enjoyed getting to know the residents of Tanglewood village and will be reading more books in this series. If you enjoy cozy romances, then I highly recommend this.

Thank you to NetGalley and Canelo for the opportunity to read this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I have read Tanglewood Flower Shop and I loved it, I loved this new one just as much and I hope that Lilac Mills will write more about Tanlgewood. Her books have a great story line and then the romance blossoms. I loved this and am giving it 5 stars, recommended for everyone to go and read and enjoy this as I have done.

Light and funny, this is the story of Edie and James, two people who are meant for each other but they just don't know it! Yet! Edie works in a wedding shop (duh) for Moira, who pushes her around a bit. She's raising her son Danny on her own and it's a good, if spare, life. Then Tia asks her to design a gown, which opens a world of possibilities and brings her into contact with James, who is going to be best man at the wedding. Things move pretty fast (as they do in this sort of novel- not a complaint, just a comment) and soon you'll find you're rooting for the new family. Oh, and for Tia to grow a spine. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. A good read for a lazy afternoon.

This is the 3rd book in the Tanglewood series. As with the first two, it's an enjoyable. light-hearted romantic comedy that immerses you in the setting. There are some familiar characters and events from the second book since there is some timing overlap, but it's great to revisit familiar characters and see things from another perspective.
This book focuses on Edie, a single mom that is living paycheck to paycheck, and James, a member of the upper-crust. Edie is surreptitiously designing a wedding gown for Tia, who is afraid to stand up for herself and get the gown she wants. James is the best man in the wedding, and correctly guesses that something is up with Edie.

Edie is a bit judgmental, but softens over time. And as James uncovers that Edie's intentions are good, he softens as well.

All in all, a good, enjoyable read.

I have read and enjoyed the previous books in the Tanglewood series. This is the third book in the series, and features Edie, a single Mum who works in the Wedding shop in the village.
The story also features a lot more of the previous characters than the second book did. The story is set alongside a similar time frame as the Flower shop book. Leanne, the florist had filmed the tv show, and is moving in with Rex.
It was nice to read about the characters from the last couple of books. I did find that Edie went from being a private and independent woman, to relying on James a lot within a very short time frame.
I enjoyed reading this book though, it is an easygoing and enjoyable read.
Thank you to Netgalley and the Publisher for my ARC.

That was a nice read and it had cute moments, but I didn't like the way the characters handled things

The story didn't hold my attention much but the mystery and setting were enjoyable. It's not my kind of cosy mystery but was pleasant.

This is one of three Tanglewood books by Lilac Mills and they are all well worth a read. It has an enjoyable storyline and believable characters with enough plot twists to keep the reader interested until the last page.

Loved it!!! This was by far my favorite book in the series. Mary the rabbit was the star of the book. Who can resist a cute bunny, especially one being taken out on walks? The book overlapped with the timeline of the second book with Leanne(Flower Shop.) Stevie made more of an appearance than she did in the previous book. Loved Edie and James. They communicated a bit more than Rex and Leanne, but Edie still overreacted at times and jumped to conclusions without fully knowing the truth. I love reading about Tanglewood and hope there's a few more books to the series. I wished Tia would have spoken up a bit more. She can't blame her mother-in-law for everything. Tia could have said no to the dress.

Definitely recommend the book and the previous books in the series. Look forward to reading more books by the author.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Canelo through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Oh, I do so love visiting Tanglewood. I wish it really existed as I would love to live there!
Anyway, I do believe this is the best book in the series so far. It was absolutely perfect. It had the perfect balance of a slow burn romance, with some angst and drama thrown in.
In this instalment, we are following Edie, a single mother seamstress who is as content with her lot. She believes this is all she’s capable of being at this juncture of her life. However, things are suddenly going to be turned upside down when she goes along to a wedding dress consultation and meets Tia and James.
She suddenly finds herself outside of her comfort zone, but happier than she ever believed would be possible. There are, of course, some bumps in the road that she must overcome before she can really and truly be happy and get everything she deserves. However, these bumps are perfectly placed within the story. They challenge the character, yet don’t overwhelm her or leave us the reader feeling as if we have been taken down the wrong route.
The characters were so likeable; I even liked Danny (and I’m not a big fan of kids). I thought he had the right amount of cuteness but also kidness about him. It was great to see the developments of the characters we had gotten to know in the previous two books, too.
Overall, this was a light, bright and enchanting book and a perfect addition to the series. I do hope there are more to come and I don’t have to wait too long!

I chose this book because I enjoyed the previous book in the series (The Tanglewood Flower Shop). Unfortunately, I was rather disappointed.

Mild spoilers below.

The overwhelming problem was that I strongly disliked both of the main characters. Edie was very judgemental, both of James, jumping to the conclusion that he’s rich and doesn’t work, and of people in general. She thinks “you never see a poor farmer”! Most farmers are very poor indeed, they do it for the love of it, not the money. Edie also jabs a pin into a bridesmaid because they were discussing setting her (the bridesmaid) up with James.

James is twice emotionally manipulative towards Edie near the beginning of the book, and combined with the way he thinks about her, and treats her generally, makes me think he is very likely a controlling person. He refers to her as a “little seamstress” and “his little doe”.
I worry he would become even more emotionally abusive as time goes on. He also waits outside her house for her and Danny (her son) to get home. That is creepy, when you’ve only been on one date! There are many more worrying signs, but I won’t bore you with them. He seems to want to please her, but doesn’t bother actually asking what she wants.

However, I did enjoy the last quarter or so (though there was plenty of Edie jumping to conclusions AGAIN). James seemed a little less creepy/controlling. Although I don’t like Edie, I hope James either learns to listen properly, or she and Danny manage to escape from him.

I really liked the wedding shop, the fact that a disabled person was included, but wasn’t an object of pity, and many of the other characters. But this book was REALLY not my cup of tea. I think I’ll avoid the author in future.

I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you NetGalley and the Publishers for providing me with this ARC.
I read the blurb and liked the general idea of the plot on which this story is based and I am not at all disappointed with this book.
It was a nice read with lots of lovely and witty characters and refreshing dialogues.
I liked it. And absolutely recommend it to all rom com lovers.
Watch out for this on Jan 2020. It was worth my time.
Happy reading!

A great read, the story of Edie and James.

When she meets him there is an attraction, but she thinks he is just too different from her. She is a single mum struggling to make ends meet and she thinks he must be rich judging by the friends he has. Will she realise she was too quick to judge him before it is too late?
