I'm loving this new book! Part legal/part mystery with a smidge of possible romance sprinkled in. Great, strong female lead who doesn't back down nor crumble when life gets really, really tough. I will definitely look for more books by this author.

After finishing the book I came to realize that the legal and mystery sections were well crafted but the romantic sections (especially at the end) seemed contrived or at least somewhat awkward and unnecessary. Perhaps rework those bits?

on facts...The author’s legal background.added richly to this story, and gives one to ponder. Well written, good cast of characters to the end.

Flight Risk has so many twists and turns you're bound to wonder if you're following the right one. How does one decipher truth in a fake news world? How do you know you have it right when the world around you believes you have it all wrong? Then Putman throws Jett and Savannah in to the mix and she wonders if she can trust a man who treated the truth so carelessly. But did he?
I enjoyed this story. Right after I started reading it I saw a post that pulled me even more in and made me excited to find out what was going to happen. Putman did a good job of showing how we don't always have all the information we need to draw an accurate conclusion. In our fake news world (everyone sharing their opinion rather than truth) how do we weed through the thistle and met out the truth and how do we know for sure we've found it? May things to ponder as I reflect on this story.

This book is a great example of contemporary legal suspense at it's best. This story could come from today's headlines - mysterious plane crashes, cutting edge technology, human trafficking, social media posts - all combine to make a complex mystery. Lawyer Savannah Daniels and news reporter Jett Glover join forces to solve a puzzle that not only involves people close to Savannah but may also involve national security. As more people die, the threat begins to creep closer to Savannah and Jett. Can they solve it in time before they become the next victims?

FLIGHT RISK by Cara C. Putman is a well-written and intense legal thriller with a touch of romance. It is also my first book by this author. Savannah Daniels owns her own law firm, has great friends, and supports her niece when it’s needed. Jett Glover is a journalist who seeks out the truth. When his story on human-trafficking breaks, tragedy occurs and it affects Savannah both personally and professionally.

The main characters are compelling and had great depth. Their motivations seem believable with realistic actions and emotions. The secondary characters were well-rounded and enhanced the story rather than detracting from it. The internal and external conflicts were well defined and believable. The stakes were high and Ms. Putman certainly made this a page turner.

The prose was engrossing, absorbing and compulsively readable. The plot was suspenseful, heartbreaking, fast-paced, thought-provoking and insightful. There were two story lines that became entangled with lots of twists and turns. The ending was satisfying, but bittersweet. It was difficult to put this book down.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this novel and look forward to reading her Hidden Justice Series as well as any new books featuring Savannah and Jett. If you enjoy suspense, intrigue, and a bit of romance, then I recommend that you check out this novel and see if you enjoy it as much as I did.

This book is a mic-drop if I’ve ever read one (and I’ve read a few)!

Time and again I thought I knew where it was going, only to be (very) pleasantly surprised that it took a sharp turn elsewhere.

Putman tackles the extremely tough subject of human trafficking with grace, not shying away from its evil but pointing to a bigger God who is over all things (to say the least, for a spoiler-free review!).

And man. The last few pages. Gutting and breathtaking. Putman knows how to keep the reader guessing! My stomach dropped in fear a desired event wouldn’t happen...but she worked it out in the best way. It doesn’t take many words to evoke happiness...and Putman nailed it. LOVE.

Oooh! This is a good one!! I may just like this the best of the series. Suspense, mystery, romance...all of them are right here. There are some unexpected twists and turns along the way.

Flight risk was full of love and suspense. It had me hanging on the edge of my seat and reminded me of forgiveness and love.

Having read and enjoyed Ms. Putman’s Hidden Justice Series, I was excited to receive this new offering. I was not disappointed! I was pleased to see that Savannah Daniels, a favorite character from the series, is one of the main characters in Flight Risk. All the characters in this book are well-developed and memorable, and they along with the intricate, suspenseful plot make a stirring read. It seems at first that there are two distinctively unrelated storylines, but Ms. Putman skillfully weaves them into one exciting page-turner. The theme of “truth” permeates the story. This poignant quote is one of my favorites: “Truth doesn’t have an expiration date.” As always, I appreciate the faith element scattered throughout the timely, inspiring narrative. I highly recommend this book.

This story is really two stories that intertwine in the end. Savannah Daniels is a lawyer which is handling a case where a new company has developed a replacement for the "Black Boxes" that are used on airplanes. Another company has filed suit that this company has infringed by utilizing technical knowledge that they did not develop. Savannah clients maintain that they were the one's that developed this technology. Savannah and her clients are in arbitration to bring about a settlement between the two parties.

At the same time, a journalist,Jett Glover, is working on a story that relates to four individuals. One of those individuals happens to be Savannah's ex-husband and the father of her niece., Dustin Tate. This story is an expose and once published portrayed them in a bad light. In his piece he has identified three of the four individuals. He wants to write a follow-up once he discovers the name of the fourth party. While writing the follow-up piece, he discovers that his story may not have been entirely truthful. Jett' is one who believes that what he wrote was the truth, but if he was wrong, then he wanted to make amends.

Jett and Savannah begin working together once Logan Donnelly was killed in an airplane crash and followed up by Dustin's death as well. The 3rd party was also murdered later.

To discover how this story concludes with identification of the killer and what the technology that Savannah's client pay a part, then you need to read this book.

How much do you really know about a person? In Flight Risk by Cara Putman, her legal thriller takes readers on a hunt to answer this question. Savannah is a lawyer for her own firm with her three lawyer friends that have told their stories in Beyond Justice, Imperfect Justice, and Delayed Justice. The tension in Flight Risk takes off in the opening chapter with a news story written by the hero, Jett. From then on, Putnam keeps reminding readers of Savannah's personal life and how it interacts with her job. The romance between Jett and Savannah is not a top priority in the story, which is the way I like a romance to be in thrillers I read. The suspense kept getting tighter and tighter as the story moved along. I really had a hard time putting the novel down. I planned 2.5 days to finish the novel, but I finished it in one day. Overall, Flight Risk is a legal thriller that is more on the personal level than what happens in the court room. A good chase to seek justice at the end of the novel.

Here is another fascinating legal thriller! I enjoyed reading a story from a legal and journalist viewpoint and very up to date for the world today.

Poorly written. The premise/plot idea is pretty good but the execution is not. WAY too much exposition. The author needs to learn the 'show don't tell' axiom. The writing is dry and too detailed. And I REALLY don't need my detective (lawyer, reporter) to stop their investigative process to involve God in finding the bad guy.

I recommend reading this book only when you don't have other commitments because it is difficult to put down - a real page turner that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Cara Putman's legal background comes through the pages of this suspense filled book. Jett, an investigative journalist visits the law office of Savannah Daniels to attempt to get information about the suspected involvement of her ex-husband, Dustin Tate in trafficking of young girls in Thailand. His research is thorough and he is committed to writing only about the truth. There are many interesting twists to this story, among them, Savannah's dearly beloved niece is the daughter of her sister and ex-husband. I don't want to give away any spoilers so will say the suspense never stops as each page is turned - this is the epitome of a legal thriller with Putman's own faith expertly woven in. A lawyer and a journalist seeking the truth about her ex and an air crash. Sometimes truth is hard to find. The effect of half-truths or fake news can be enormous.

The novel is quite enjoyable although the connection between the two cases seems quite construed and the issue of trafficking is not really explored. The "good" main characters are believable in their reactions, the "bad" ones not so much.

While this is a slight diversion from Putman's current justice series, the characters overlap. I feel that Putman did an excellent job of connecting the theme and plot to both "Flight" and "Risk." Savannah continued to take risks on her family despite the fact that they continued to disappoint. "Flight" also references the need to move on from difficult circumstances. They were all sorts of plot twists and turns, and I did not figure out all of the connections until the author revealed it near the end of the book. (Since I often read suspense fiction, I can usually guess the end!) I was given a complimentary copy of this book through NetGalley/Thomas Nelson, but I plan on buying a paper copy for my library. Fast paced intrigue and suspense:
This book is a spin-off from the Hidden Justice series but it can be read as a standalone. Savannah and Jett join forces to discover the truth whilst simultaneously fighting the attraction they have towards one another. They both have issues from their past which complicates matters. I didn't feel that the personal or romance elements were fully developed as the book ends just as Savannah and Jett admit their feelings to one another. Perhaps there are going to be more books to come?
The mystery and intrigue elements were however well done and I wanted to keep on reading to discover how all of the threads would come together. All in all, an engaging and suspenseful book by a talented author.

Cara did a good job with this book bringing to life what really goes on. The emotions that the characters have and how they deal with all going g on. It has mystery and action with twist and turns. Highly recommended
