A nice feel good story. I enjoyed the characters and had pretty much figured out a few things before Callie did.
Looking forward to more if this story line continues.
Thanks to Netgalley and Bookoutre for the early copy

From the moment I opened this book I was hooked. This is a beautifully written story with characters that tug at your heartstrings from the second they’re introduced. You can’t help but fall in love with them and the tiny village in Italy where it takes place. The author is so descriptive you feel as though you’re really there, as if you can smell the fresh air of the Italian mountains, the taste of fresh pesto and chocolate. I devoured this book in no time I was that drawn in. I’d love to see this story continue as it was so easy to become invested in the lives of these characters!

This story follows Callie, who on her 21st birthday receives the shock of a lifetime. She not only finds out she’s adopted but that she’s inherited a house in Italy. This sets her out on a quest of self discovery. She wants to know who she is, who her family was and where they came from. Armed with a diary that once belonged to her great great grandmother, she discovers she comes from a long line of healers and their strength got them through the darkest of times. Secrets, lies and love run through this story beautifully and with such angst you can’t wait to turn the page to find out what happens next...which is why I finished this book at 3 in the morning!

Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture and Daniela Sacerdoti for the advanced copy! It truly was a pleasure to read!

While I couldn’t quite stomach the believe-ability of a 21 year old former foster kid owning her own apartment while working as a waitress and then inheriting a house in Italy, it was a lovely story with the blend of the past and present. I think it would have been nicer to have set it in a real Italian city, but the author did a great job of describing the Italian landscape, people and food.

I was provided with an ARC of this book by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Wow, wonderful book! The Italian Villa was a warm, endearing story of a young girl learning who she is from the women in her history. I love books that have strong female characters and this book delivered! The story follow young Callie, once orphaned and then discovered she was adopted she sets out for Italy to discover the roots of her past and find out who she is. She learns of the long line of "Stella" women who through strength and determination, forge ahead with courage, passion and determination. I loved how the story slowly unfolds, merging past with present, I love how the characters begin to take shape and especially how Callie decides to grab a hold of life and take what she feels in her heart. Great book!

The Italian Villa is a quick, breezy read. The book tells the story of two women--Callie a 21 year old woman from Texas in search of her family's history, and Elisa, a young woman living in a small village in Italy during World War II. The book is an easy beach read and has some lovely descriptions of the Italian landscape.

Thank you, Netgalley for the ARC of this book.

I have read all of Daniela Sacerdoti’s previous books and was delighted to receive this ARC of her new book The Italian Villa.
On her twenty first birthday Callie is contacted by a law firm to tell her that she has inherited a house in Montevino, Italy. Callie has been saving up her money to go to college and decides to use it to travel to Italy and find out about the birth family that she never knew existed.
The Lawyer also gives her a box that contains a diary written by Elisa a doctor who lived in the village in 1938 during the war.
I really enjoyed this book and Callie’s journey.
Elisa’s story outlined the heartache and courage of the people who lived throughout the war years.
Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for my e-copy in exchange for an honest review.

I fell in love with this book! It was beautiful and captivating from start to finish. I loved Callie right from the beginning and she is such a relatable character. You laughed with her and cried for her throughout and I loved when she would read from Elisas diary and you’d go on another adventure. Elisa was another character that you couldn’t help but love for her passion and determination. And I loved how Callie’s thoughts would pop through the diary entries and how things from the past would end up connecting in the future. Absolutely loved this entire book! I’ll definitely be seeking out this authors work.

When Callie was 10, her parents died in a house fire. On her 21st birthday she discovers she was adopted and has been left a house in the small town of Montevino, Italy by her birth mother. Struggling to cope with the revelations about her past she travels to Montevino to claim her inheritance, but someone in Montevino is not happy to see her.

Among the papers given to her, Callie discovers an old diary written during the second world war in which a young woman details her hopes and dreams of becoming a doctor and the obstacles that stand in her way. As the diary reveals secrets from the past, will Callie finally discover where she belongs.

A great book with a compelling storyline that links the past with the present. It was an easy enjoyable read.

Although this is a short novel at only 200 or so pages it includes 2 timelines - the present day and WW2, the latter recounted through diaries. This is the story of a young woman of Italian descent who travels to Italy from Texas to claim her inheritance. She also searches for the truth about her family and parenage and has a romantic encounter. Lightweight but quite enjoyable.

The Italian Villa is a very interesting read, telling two stories. In the present, orphan Callie goes to Italy to claim an inheritance from a woman she’s never heard of. Among the box of papers given her by the lawyer is a diary by someone who was caught up in the horror of Italy during WWII. Why was Callie given this diary? What is her connection to Elise? And why is Callie’s Italian aunt so hostile? There are many secrets to be revealed and the author does a good job at keeping readers interested in both stories. This is a well written book, poignant, heartbreaking and wonderfully uplifting by the time the last page is complete. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book from NetGalley.

This story was very unique and I really loved it. This is one of those titles that you want to curl up in a chair with a warm drink and read this slowly. I found myself not wanting to devour this one but wanting to savor every page. It's emotional and empowering and the characters fill your mind completely long after you have finished the story.
