Little People Big Dreams is an amazing Children's non-fiction series that you can start for your young kids. It's a beautiful book with cute illustrations and a simple story to get your kids introduced to really inspiring personalities. I really enjoyed the book and I believe this is a great starting point for non-fiction for young readers. The book is very short focusing only on the important events of Astrid Lindgren's life. Her life as a child and how she came to write stories and her first job are all well put together to bring to life her legacy in a way that's easily understood by kids. The language is simply easy to read and enjoy. We get a brief idea of who she is and how she came to be an author and one of the most loved creators for her character Pippi Longstocking and some small tidbits about her life as well.y have a variety of stories featuring amazing personalities with inspiring stories from all over the world. The wide array of books they have gives us an amazing list of books to choose from and. stories of extraordinary people with incredible journeys that will inspire and empower young minds. Her story is inspiring and empowering and is made accessible to kids with the accompaniment of games, puzzles, toys and such. The story is a reminder to all of us as to how every successful person that we see today, the role models we follow all came to be who they are with a small dream and hard work. I gave this book 5 stars and highly recommend checking it out.

I am completely in love with this series by Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara. I think it is a stunning idea to educate children about different famous people and the amazing work they've done during their lives.

This one about Astrid Lindgren is especially dear to my soul because I love Astrid and her work. I think of her as decades ahead of her time, a feminist and an exceptional writer! I grew up reading about the wild and weird girl who lives on her own in a small Swedish town. I grew up imagining I was Pippi and wanted to have at least some of her adventures.

This story of Astrid Lindgren is that of a young girl who was thrilled to learn to read and enter fictional worlds. Once she was introduced to the world of books by a friend, she read through all the books in the library. She was a female Peter Pan, she didn't want to grow up. As she became older, she became a bit of a rebel. She cut off her hair, got a job at a newspaper and became a single mother all by the age of 19. She eventually got married and had another child, a daughter, Karin. It was Karin who gave her the name Pippi Longstocking to make up stories about. She finally wrote the stories down that she had made up for her daughter and the rest is history. I know I loved the Pippi Longstocking stories as a young girl and actually wrote my speech in grade 4 about my favourite book character. This is another great addition to the Little People, Big Dreams series. Once again, the illustrations are wonderful, especially geared to young children. This book should once again be in all school and public libraries. I love that this series can be used to teach about dreaming big, famous people that might not be well known, learning about writing a biography and as a step off for further research.

I just reviewed Astrid Lindgren by Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara. #AstridLindgren #NetGalley

LOVE THIS BOOK!! A small and compact read about famous people around the world, and this is about one of my favorite author! While looking her up on Wikipedia is easy, but a book full of color and short sentences is better. A must read of their collection!

Come to think of it all her books. They are so adorable, colourful with lovely illustrations throughout and great for small children to learn about some of the wonderful people that were and are a part of our lives and did great things they did.

This is an excellent series. The people written about in the series aren't your run of the mill children's biography subjects. But they are all intriguing people and make for interesting reading. The illustrations are going to appeal to the kids as well. These books are a good way to broaden their horizons.

The Little People, Big Dreams series teaches children about marvelous people who have used their dreams to create the wonderful world we live in. In this installation, Astrid Lindgren is inspired by her children to pen stories about Pippi Longstockings and other characters.

This delightful book is another in the series of Little People, BIG DREAMS which are short children's books that look at the lives of inspirational people from around the world. With concise and informative text coupled with beautiful and quirky graphics, you have a mini biography that both educates and entertains at the same time.

Here we learn of the story of the Swedish writer of fiction and screenplays, Astrid Lindgren, famous as the creator of the universally loved and ever popular Pippi Longstocking, which has been translated into over 60 languages. Hopefully the young reader if not familiar with her work may seek out her books or alternatively be tempted into reading about other famous people in the series.

Astrid Lindgren is a new biography for babies and the youngest readers in the Little People, Big Dreams series. I've reviewed a number of these titles and all of them are delightful and exuberant little books which cover the lives of famous cultural, science, arts, and innovative icons while maintaining an age-appropriate level of detail.

Due out 3rd March 2020 from Quarto on their Frances Lincoln Children'sFrances Lincoln Children's imprint, it'll be 32 pages and will be available in hardcover format.

Written by Isabel Sánchez Vegara it's well written in clear accessible language. The gentle and sweetly whimsical illustrations are well done. The art by Linzie Hunter is appealing and colorful and supports the text very well. The art is rich in small subtle details which bear a closer look (like the books, animals, multicultural children, and more which appear throughout the book). I love to see so many kids and adults reading in the illustrations!

Well written and appealing, I am really enjoying all of these little books. This one is a worthy addition.

Five stars. This would make a superlative reading circle book, classroom library book, or gift. Ms. Lindgren was and is an intelligent and beloved author and this little book is a nice introduction to her life and work for the youngest generation.

This is such a beautiful little book, and a great addition to a series that I have found consistently wonderful. As a writer I particularly like this one - it’s ideal to read to the children/younger family members of writers to show the wonder and magic of creating stories for a living.

I've always been fascinated with the lives of writers because I get more insight into where those stories really came from. Pippi Longstocking was a favorite character of mine all through childhood which made this a must read for me. This is a beautiful little series of author biographies.

Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC.

What another great addition to the Little people big dreams series! The illustrations as always are superbly beautiful and appealing to little ones. The Story of Astrid is well written and explained as she was a girl who had lots of ideas and imagination that she put into words so the whole word could enjoy them. I've loved Pippi Longstocking for as long as I can remember and it was fun to learn more about her creator and that her daughter Karin came up with the name is just awesome.
Thank you as always to NetGalley and the publishers for providing me an ARC for and honest review! :)

Another one of "Little People, BIG DREAMS" book and what a treat it was! Beautifully illustrated, easy to read and a joy to behold - a printed hardback will make a great addition to the "Little People" library you might already have! A treat for a child (or an adult - especially an Astrid Lindgren fan!).

A side-thought: Astrid Lindgren, despite being a well-known author of a lot of great books for children, would not be such an obvious choice for me if I had to pick a famous/outstanding person to write a book about. I would not necessarily buy her biography to a child.

With many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing this book for free in exchange for a fair review.

And still today, little Astrid-the girl who never wanted to grow up-lives in our heads and hearts when anyone reads Pippi Longstocking (who is always up for some fun).

Astrid Anna Emilia Ericsson Lindgren the author of Pippi Longstocking started as a fun loving little girl that loved books and it was her love of books that she begin to write. A children's book that shares her story and maybe a little bit of too much information for little ones on getting pregnant at 19. Children grow up to fast without being confronted about indiscretions. Other than that, the illustrations and Astrids love for children is encouraging.

A Special Thank you to Quartro Publishing Group and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review.

Thank you for the opportunity to read and review. I love the Little People, Big Dreams series. I was very excited to read this one because I LOVED Pippi when I was a child. I learned so much from this book! I had no idea she was from Sweden. However, I did see a typo on page 6.

We read this book as a family and loved learning about Astrid. Not even the adults knew who she was, so we were happy to learn together. Another brilliant book from Maria!
