This was a miss for me. The synopsis sounded great but I didn’t find myself getting invested enough in the plot to finish. DNF

Sadie Slade isn’t interested in romantic entanglements. She’s been there, done that. But handsome CEO Carrick Murphy tangles things up for her—fast. Their steamy one-night stand has made them parents-to-be. And she still can’t stop fantasizing about a repeat with the stubborn bachelor—despite the secrets they’re both keeping. Is it time for them to take a chance on happiness?
This was a pretty good story. It was quick and fast paced. I liked following both Sadie and Carrick on their journey to happiness. I recommend.

4 1/2 STARS!

Sinfully sexy! With the first book in her Murphy International series, Joss Wood brings us a few familiar faces in ONE LITTLE INDISCRETION. For those that read the author's Love in Boston series, you'll recognize the Murphy family that is the centerpiece of this series. The plot is intriguing and the characters captivating.

Sadie catches a reader's eye immediately because we hear of her brush with death and quickly watch her connect with the man who didn't leave her side during her terror. One night of passion is supposed to get him out of her system, but the baby they discover is on the way a few weeks later isn't going to be easy to overlook!

Carrick is a really interesting character. He's got a reputation of ruthlessness, but he's only showing a genuinely good heart every time he interacts with Sadie. I enjoyed him a lot.

I highly recommend this book and am looking forward for more to come from the Murphy family!

This was a great first book to a new series by Joss Wood! It was a common romance troupe done with an added layer of complication for both Sadie and Carrick. There wasn't a lot of depth to the complications but the story was told in such a way you were invested in them from page one.

Sadie had married a man she thought loved her, only to face emotional abuse until she left him, but no one believed her. She was wary of men and Carrick Murphy was no different. His reputation through a mutual friend was less than stellar and Sadie was all about working to help him prove a painting was real but otherwise steering clear of the bad boy.

At least until he showed up on her doorstep concerned after she was hurt on his watch. Their chemistry was undeniable but you know what they say about one little indiscretion, it can have consequences that last a lifetime.

Learning to trust again was hard for Sadie AND Carrick. They'd both been hurt by their previous marriages and neither one had any trust in reserve.

While there was a lot of back and forth about their pasts that got a little tedious by the end, you were still rooting for these to find their way together and to grasp that golden ring of HEA.

I loved the set up for this series with the other characters in the story. Joa and Ronan had chemistry that didn't end, and I can't wait to see the love/hate relationship that Keely and Wilfred are going to light up the pages with.

You can't go wrong starting this new series with One Little Indiscretion!

I thought this book was really good. I liked the whole aspect of her being this cool art historian and he being the aloof CEO. I did feel like they jumped into the sack a bit too early in the story. I was barely getting my bearings about what was going on before, BAM, sex. I know this is a Harlequin Desire and I should expect such things, but still, it was a little too early for my taste.

I also enjoyed how Sadie grew during this book and started to stand up for herself in a lot of her relationships: parents, friends, boyfriend, etc. I also liked that other characters were introduced that you know will have their own book at some point in the future. Joa did suddenly take over as the POV character for a short bit and that kind of threw me. I feel the main POV characters should stay the main POV characters even when introducing others for future books. I don’t need to be in Joa’s head since in the larger scheme of things, she has nothing to do with the main thrust ofd the story.

Overall, I enjoyed this. I liked the setting and the characters. Just a great read to pick up on a rainy/snowy day.

I received this as an ARC (Advanced Reader Copy) in return for an honest review. I thank NetGalley, the publisher and the author for allowing me to read this title.
