As usual, Farrah Rochon delivers a delightfully entertaining and easy to read story. The characters are extremely likable, Samiah is witty, sassy, beautiful, and smart. Daniel is charming, handsome, intelligent, and sexy as hell. Their chemistry is fantastic and the dialogue between them is excellently written. The bond that Samiah builds with her two girlfriends almost overshadows the romantic relationship between Samiah and Daniel and is definitely squad goals. The beginning of the book and the girls night out scenes have a definite romcom feel that I wish was maintained throughout. Overall I would give this 4 out of 5 stars, it’s definitely a good read.

I liked the idea behind this story. It was definitely written about millennials, for millennials. I appreciated the strong, smart female lead character. The male lead character seemed all too perfect (just what anyone wants in a romance novel, right?). As a personal preference, I wish there was more of a focus on the romance, and less of a focus on the careers, friends, etc. It lacked that steam and emotional connection I crave in a romance novel.

Three women becomes friends when they learn that the man they are dating is the same person, making a six-month pact to focus on themselves (and maybe a boyfriend, too!). For this first book, the heroine is a tech-savvy woman who wants to create a new app for a prestigious competition. But her focus for detailed by a new co-worker, who has his own secrets to hide.

Though the premise is not new, the story was still enjoyable. I liked the strong heroine, the sweet and confident hero, and the fledgling sisterhood of the three women. I didn't like the obstacle that cropped up between the heroine and th ehero, but understandable. Overall, the story is a good one.

This is my first read from Farrah Ronchon, but let me say I thoroughly enjoyed this book. From the first chapter I was hooked. Craig Walters can suck it. He gets what he deserves.
I am a huge sucker for office romances, and it could very well be one of my favorite tropes. Looking at you Sally Thorne.
I loved how Rochon developed her characters throughout the novel. Samiah is a kickass female protagonist. I love how she is not the damsel in distress and can do whatever she wants, and needs. She doesn’t need Daniel to save her, quite possibly she saved him.
Also, #squadgoals was to live for. Their friendship throughout the novel was not forgotten. It showed how brave fierce females can unite to make it happen. They were friendships of chance, but they quickly realize how much they need eachother.

I adored this book, it was a definite binge read. Features computer geekery, espionage, a feisty, take no shit heroine, and a delicious romance. Also of note: enthusiastic consent! I can't wait to read more from this author.

A new to me author that I found through an online book club. I loved this book. I found the characters enjoyable and the plot thoughtfully developed. I enjoyed sitting and reading this book over the course of an afternoon and I would recommend this book and author to others.

When a video goes viral of Samiah telling off Craig, the man she has been dating, due to him lying and scheming and dating two other women at the same time, she enters into a welcomed friendship with those very same women. Left reeling by all the deceit and unexpected media fame, the unlikely trio form a pact in which they agree to focus on themselves and their dreams for the next 6 months. Men be damned, right? Well, that's easier said then down when Daniel, the hot new hire at Samiah's job enters the scene.

There a lot to like about The Boyfriend Project: strong and support female bonds; diverse main and supporting characters (because it's high time we have more romance novels available with characters who look, speak, and act more like I do); discourse around microaggressions, racism, sexism, socioeconomic status; STEM representation; and of course romance, the reason why we're here.

Samiah is a strong-willed, determined main character. She is a tech guru and knows her value and worth. But she bears a lot of weight, as she feels her success is not just her alone, but that of all the other Black women following in her footsteps. It was nice to get so much insight into her character throughout, as many romances prioritize the relationship and thus, the character development seems like an after thought.

Daniel can't help but be mesmerized and infatuated by her. He too, is work-oriented and takes pride in what he has been able to accomplish in his career. He instantly connects to Samiah, despite knowing his very involvement with her jeopardizes his covert assignment at her job, Trendsetters. He's on a mission to bring down a money-laundering scheme - of which Samiah know's nothing about. Their budding romance is inevitably built on lies.

Admittedly, the undercover assignment plot dragged on for me. I wasn't as invested in this storyline as much as I was the friend group one. The latter felt real and refreshing and who wouldn't want friends like Taylor and London? I could have used more of the trio, but the story was about Samiah and Daniel, I know.

But I didn't feel the level of chemistry and passion I thought I would between the love interests. Their interest in one another started off as slow-burning (which I love). I enjoyed the build up, the will they won't they, but when they actually became a pair, the pacing and continuity of the book began to change, and not for the better, unfortunately. Subsequently caused my interest to wane. The ending was unsatisfying, personally. Things wrapped up too quickly and I'm not quite convinced Daniel earned Samiah's quick forgiveness. Especially given what she endured romantically at the start of the novel.

In all, The Boyfriend Project started off strong and tackled so many important themes. Though I may not have always like how some things were executed, there's no denying that there is some magic to this romance. One of the few office romances I've enjoyed overall in a while. I'm looking forward to the following installments of the series, especially that of Taylor's (hopefully her's is next!).

This was my most anticipated book of the entire year. When I found out that it was available to review in Netgalley, I was elated. This book did not disappoint! I loved the girl power from the very beginning. Samiah is the type of main character that I love to read about. And Daniel is the ideal love interest. The plot was both refreshing and perfectly executed. I loved the dialogue between the characters. I wish I could erase this novel from my mind and read it over and over again for the first time! I cannot wait for the next books in the series. Will definitely be picking up a physical copy and will be recommend to everyone.

Most of us want success, love, happiness and a puppy to boot (I know for ME, the puppy is at the top of my list). But as life happens, we begin to make modifications to our lists because the world requires us to be more "REALISTIC" (tuh, the nerve of some people).

Somiah, Taylor, and London are 3 women who find out via a "Date from Hell" thread on twitter that they're dating the same guy (The Bastard). But, instead of having the typical negative stereotypes placed on Black women, Farrah Rochon turned 3 strangers, with a Scrub of a man in common, into Girlfriends ( *cues Girlfriends theme song*). They make a pact to work on themselves and let love take a backseat to their goals. Of course, this books is packed with Juice and Scandal, but i don't need to tell you that.

Farrah gave me ALL the Black Girl Magic I've been craving in a modern day romance !! "Finally! Somebody got it right!" That was my initial thought after finishing The Boyfriend Project. What makes me the happiest about this book is being able to follow London and Taylor on their journey in the next 2 books!!

The Boyfriend Project was just what I wanted it to be: a fun, sweet, well-written romance. Samiah becomes an Intenet sensation overnight when she discovers that the guy she has been dating has also been dating two other women, and a viral video is caught of the three women joining together to tell him off. The three women become friends and decide to stop dating for the next six months so they can work on bettering themselves. This is all fine and well until Samiah meets her new coworker, Daniel Collins. Daniel has also sworn off dating, but soon sparks begin to fly between him and Samiah in a way that neither of them expected.

I always appreciate a romance with a strong female character, and The Boyfriend Project delivered. Samiah is a smart, tech-genius with dreams to develop her own app. Her romance with Daniel was sweet, and I thought the author put interesting obstacles in their way, that kept me guessing how the book would be resolved. If you're looking for a fun, compelling romance read, I would recommend checking this one out!

This book started amazing! I really liked both characters and I like how she becomes an unintentional viral star. That aspect of the story and the girl power sediment was fun but something about the writing made it a more difficult story to read. I didn’t like all the technology phrases. I thought it was cute but it was just okay.

The Boyfriend Project wasn't quite what I was expecting but I enjoyed it! It's a fun, smart and quirky romance set in the world of tech and intelligence! 

I really loved the relationship between Samiah, Taylor and London but boy did they meet under the craziest of circumstances. Through a dirty, lying, cheating ass who was dating all three of them! Honestly, I loved the way these woman handled that situation and you have to read it to believe it! 

Samiah is a strong, independent and amazing heroine, Daniel is mysterious, smart and loyal, the slow simmer between them is totally worth the read but when you find out what Daniel's hiding will you want to throw your Kindle across the room, slap Daniel in his face or see things from his side? I kind of wanted to do all three!

This book started amazing! Samiah becomes an unintentional viral star when she and two other kick ass ladies expose a cheating jerk. The book declines for me from there. Yes I enjoyed Daniel and Samiah falling in love but it was almost buried under enough tech jargon that I got a headache from reading it! I found myself more interested in what London was doing. I really hope her story is next.

I can’t believe that the author didn’t include Kayleigh as one of the culprits! I feel like that was a real missed opportunity to make the petty part of each reader happy. The book was good but I wouldn’t read it again.

Five smart, steamy, entertaining, action-packed, addictive, office romance with so much likable couple who conquers our hearts with their sizzling, hot chemistry!

This book at my wishlist and I’m so happy my wish finally come true because it was so much more than I expected. There are so many positive attributes which I truly enjoyed about great books.
The things I adore:

Straight to the point, intriguing, powerful opening scene: Our adorable, badass, hard-worker, successful business woman heroine Samiah coincidentally finds out from twitter that she is dating with a guy who also dates with two other women at the same time and just postopned their meeting because he’s having dinner with another woman at the very same Sushi Place who took her before. So she storms out from her pregnant sister’s house to face the douchebag and she meets with other catfish-ing victims: Taylor and London. Three women team up to avenge the cheater boyfriend and humiliate him at the restaurant in front of several witnesses (one of them record their argument which goes viral and Samiah turns into youtube’s rising star!)

At the end of the night, the girls partied together and found themselves at Samiah’s place and they decided to resume their friendship which turned into sisterhood squad meeting at every Friday night for dinner and cocktails! They decide that they don’t need a man to bring happiness into their lives. For upcoming six months they will decide to concentrate of their personal goals, find hobbies and face with unresolved issues that hold them back from their bright futures. They shake hands for this pact and called it “Boyfriend Project”

But this brings the second thing I liked so much about this book: Charming, good-hearted, witty, flirty, hot, sexy hero: Daniel Collins is just hired by Samiah’s company and their undeniable attraction already gives Samiah second thoughts about her pact! Maybe she should give a chance to Daniel. He seems trustworthy, decent and honest from the beginning but… here is our cliffhanger: Daniel hides his real identity. He is an agent, investigating money laundering in their company and for digging out more he should keep secrets from Samiah. Even though he does anything not to fall for or hurt her, he cannot help himself. But what is going to happen when the secrets come out and he has to leave for his next assignment. Samiah is already humiliated by the viral youtube video and her past wrong choices about her love life. Could she trust him again after the revelation of his secret identity?

The third thing I loved about the book is both of the characters didn’t act obnoxious or illogical at the angst parts of the story. Daniel was sweet pie from the beginning and Samiah was rational, determined, and strong.
As you know at the all romance books: the last quarter is about groveling, breakup and the both parties’ nonsense painful experiences (some of them stop eating, showering, turning into asocial creatures and they also act like stubborn spoiled brats not to come clean about their feelings!) But at this book: both of the characters earned entire Brownie points and saved me to read long and agitatedly emotional chapters!

And final thing I Loved about the book was the supporting characters: I already loved Taylor and as far as I may see, we’re gonna read her story at the second book that I cannot wait! And let’s not forget our sarcastic, entertaining doctor London. I enjoyed those three different, independent, strong women’s growing friendship and sisterhood.

Overall: The book carries so many important messages about racial and sex inequity and unfairness at work places. It was powerful, motivational, witty, thought-provoking, riveting, dazzling and also very romantic reading. I highly recommend it to the genre lovers!

Have you ever picked up a book soley based off of how much you liked the cover? I have and the first thing that drew me to this book was its cover because it's absolutely stunning. This great contemporary romance about love, loyal friendship, and prioritizing yourself and it's evident Rochon threw her heart into this book.

What I loved about this book:

1. This is woke romcom that goes into detail about the struggles women of color experience in the work place and the pressures they feel to never make a mistake. It also touches on the difficulty the lower class children experience to reach their potential and how importantly it is to mentor at risk youth.

2. While the circumstances are similar to the Central Park Pact series, this series is defined worth picking up. Samiah, London, and Taylor are great characters and I can't wait to read the other ladies stories. They meet after a Tweet thread exposes their current "boyfriend" and quickly form a loyal friendship based on honesty and support. Honestly I wish every woman had a similar group supporting them through tough times.

3. I definitely saved the best for last, Samiah and David's friends to lovers romance. Their instant chemistry was evident from the first time they met and it was so satisfying to see their relationship transform and grow as the story went on. Of course you can't have a great romance without conflict and theirs definitely had one.

Overall I found this book to be a highly enjoyable fun read and I can't wait for the rest of the series. This was my first book my the author, but it definitely won't be my last. If this sounds like a book you would enjoy, please consider preordering your copy today.

What sets this title apart is the main character, Samiah, not only finding love but also finding a strong platonic support system. Female friendships are a big deal here, and the meet-cute is between Samiah and her two Friends, rather than with her coworker Daniel, the love interest. This is fun and modern, and despite slightly uneven character development, readers who appreciate considerate male leads will note Daniel’s consideration is a highlight of the steamy scenes. Particularly good for readers who like their leads to be entrepreneurial (Samiah loves coding and is developing an app), enjoy a bit of intrigue, and like a techy setting.

Not everyone wants to go viral. Samiah Brooks is one of those people. And yet, when she along with two other women all learn they're dating the same man and confront him, the all become famous. Samiah especially since she works in the tech industry. And as a Woman of Color, she usually tries to keep her head low and just do a stellar job.
Daniel Collins admires Samiah and the way that she is handling the situation. He also admires the way she works. And the way she looks. She's just all-around an amazing woman who anyone should be delighted to be with. Too bad that he's not exactly telling her the truth about who he is.
I cannot WAIT for Taylor and London's stories though the excerpt for Taylor's story makes me a little nervous. There is definitely some set up in this book getting ready for their stories but it isn't intrusive. I got a little checked out in the middle of the book but I can't tell if that was the story or me so I erred on the side of me since I generally enjoyed the book.

This was a perfectly fine entry in the diverse contemporary romance canon but I didn't think it was anything amazing. I liked the author's focus on Samiah's drive, her female friendships, and shedding a light on the struggles for black women in STEM but I didn't like the dialogue, which often felt stilted to me, or the way that the ending wrapped up too quickly.
