If you love reading about new releases from established authors and discovering new books from upcoming authors - if you enjoy exploring new genres but prefer sampling books before you commit to reading them - then rush over to Netgalley and pick up a copy of the Buzz Books Great Reads 2020 Spring/Summer sampler. This is my first introduction to this seasonal sampler and seriously, I'm not sure how I ever lived without it!

This book contains a book synopsis and introductory chapters for dozens of upcoming books that you couldn't otherwise preview (since they won't be released for several months). As I'm reading through the sampler, I'm making a list of the books that I would like to read. In the process, I am not only finding new authors but I'm also discovering new publishers. As a book blogger, book reviewer and an avid reader, these are very exciting discoveries to make!

Another great thing about this sampler is that it is available as a "read now" option so you don't have to wait to get approved through Netgalley. Direct links are included so that you can immediately request the books you are interested in. Publicity/release information that is helpful to bloggers, reviewers and librarians are included at the end of each preview.

I highly recommend this book and will be placing future editions of this sample on my "must read" list!

This expansive resource is available at no charge at most on-line bookstores.  It includes extensive listings of titles that are coming out in all categories along with a number of book excerpts.  A few fiction titles that are forthcoming are those authored by David Nicholls, Katherine Reay, Susan Wiggs, Barbara Delinsky, Beatriz Williams, Alexander McCall Smith and Scott Turow.  There are books forthcoming fro Anne Tyler, Gail Godwin, and more.

Readers can look at titles by category; for fiction this includes big books, emerging authors, debut novels, commercial fiction and more.  Non-fiction seemed to me to include lots of political titles and titles about the struggles and triumphs of women.

Also take a look at biography and memoirs including books by Jennifer Finney Boyland, David Chang , Elijah Cummings and more. In addition,  as as noted above, there are fairly lengthy excerpts from some forthcoming titles.

Take a little time to see what you might like to read this spring.  You will find authors both old and new.

Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this title in exchange for an honest review.  I honesty love this compilation.

interesting to know that publishers can make their releases available in advance. In Brazil it is quite different.

A wide variety of authors and books that are yet to be released. This is a sneak peak with excerpts . It has helped to increase my want to read list.
This collection gives me the option to weed through and find books for my own library.

It is always a joy to see a new BUZZ Book appear on NetGalleyl

It is a gift and a blessing from an organization that helps writers, librarians, reviewers and book bloggers alike.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

I’m really glad there are a lot of titles included in this and are separated into four categories (Fiction, Debut, Non-Fiction, Young Adult). However, I wish Young Adult would still have its separate Buzz Books release like the previous years. It’s what I look forward to the most and there are only a few titles in this one. Unfortunately, only two really caught my attention (Sweet Sorrow and Chosen Ones). I am still thinking whether I would read them.

Looking forward to more interesting titles in the next release!

Consistently one of the best resources for what's heading to the bookshelves in the upcoming season. The Buzz Books editions are an inclusive and wide-ranging sneak peek into all of the most interesting new titles from commercial to indie authors, both those well-loved and those making their debut. My TBR list grows exponentially ever time a new edition is released.

Wonderful look at some upcoming books - enough previews to whet my appetite for a number of books! The notes at the end off each preview are not as useful to me these days, not being a member of the bookselling business, but that's also pretty interesting to read, to see how much of a push each publisher is giving their book(s).

What a fun way to fill your TBR pile with up-and-coming 2020 releases. This book has me absolutely itching to get my hands on some of these new releases while other are clearly just not for me.

If you’re one of those people who wanders the bookstore for hours and just can’t choose which books to take home with you as books 2020: spring/summer is the perfect pre read to help narrow your search.

An extremely helpful look at the upcoming books launching in 2020. The Spring/Summer review of new books is a great way to find out what books you want to read in the next few months. It highlights a variety of genres and authors so there's something for everyone.

This Publisher’s Lunch buzz edition is a book lover’s delight. As though there isn’t enough to read there are dozens more to look forward to. Not just ‘old’ favourites: Richard Ford, Joyce Carol Oates, and Anne Tyler but tonnes of new debut writers in particular which piqued my interest: The Party Upstairs by Lee Cornell; Migrations by Charlotte McConaghy and Valentine by Elizabeth Wetmore. In non-fiction there is: Book of Rosy by Rosayra Pablo Cruz; Hollywood Park by Mikel Jollett; and Here we are by Benjamin Taylor.

Also I am really looking forward to The Death of Vivek Oji by Akwaeke Emezi as I really enjoyed her debut novel Freshwater which I found thanks to Netgalley

Extremely well-formatted in giving readers everything they are curious about in future reads:

+ the cover
+ the summary
+ a sample read of the first couple of pages
+ the genre
+

As a preview and guide for anyone looking to stay in-tune with current reads, this is a very good resource and one that I look forward to leafing through many a time this year to see what upcoming publications catch my eye. So convenient to have them all in one place!

Thank you #BuzzBooks for once again impressing with a tremendous collection of excerpts of upcoming titles. There were so many that are exciting to look forward to in here that I can’t even list them all. This maybe the best collection, or representation for upcoming books, yet.
Unfortunately, if I even get approval for a fraction of those that I’ve now requested (against my better judgment), I will still have messed up my TBR for awhile. I will be back to digging out from my stack!
So, thanks for all of the wonderful titles! I can’t wait for the new releases to come.

I always enjoy previewing books through Buzz Books! It’s a good way to get hyped up about upcoming releases and trying out if new authors will work for you. I’m especially excited to try Veronica Roth’s new adult book after this preview.

What a unique way to choose a book from Net Galley! Thank you for the opportunity to sample the plot and writing style of authors with whom I am not familiar. I have read the plot summaries of fiction, debut and non-fiction choices and the samples of those that intrigued me. I have already made my requests through Net Galley. I very much enjoyed the inside edge into the publishing business.
