Kindle Copy for Review from NetGalley and Montlake Romance.

I received a free, advance copy of this book and this is my unbiased and voluntary review.

Penn Etling is the hot local carpenter who leaves a trail of women along his path. He is not looking for commitment just enjoying the moment at hand. He will soon find himself drawn to someone who wants more than just a one-night stand, she wants forever.

Will this player finally meet his match as she sees his moves? Will each take that chance at love or let the attraction be for not?

Once again the guys of Dogwood Lane will makes things hot.

I love banter! Good banter and this book has it all through out!

I really liked the beginning and end of this book. The middle needed some help. There was a lot of back and forth with them struggling internally. I skimmed a lot of that because it was becoming repetitive.

Then you start to get to the heart of everything and I really enjoyed reading Penn’s past and how Avery deserves someone to love her!

“You’re talking about monogamy, aren’t you?”
“Penn . . .”
“I’m allergic.”
“You are not allergic.”

This was the first book I read by this author and after finishing I immediately bought and read the other books in this series.

There is something so classic about a reformed "bad boy" and I loved that we saw Penn's hidden kindness all throughout this story (and not just at the end as a result of a good woman). Penn's good character is hidden beneath cocky vibrato, but is always present.

And I always love a female lead with curves and confidence. This leading lady's back story is well written and I love her strength and passion for life.

These two characters had great history and great chemistry and I loved their love story.

Penn and Avery's story was heartbreaking and wonderful at the same time. Both have such awful backstories that are clearly affecting them in every way and I loved watching them work through their issues together and most importantly on their own. I love how Avery recognized her issues and used them to change her life into what she wants and only let them affect her life positively. Penn had more to work through but he had his closest friends making sure he didnt mess up his life too badly. I loved this book and really hope Matt's book is next!

Throughout the series so far, I've been waiting for Penn to finally meet his match, and Avery is definitely the one. I mean, I wanted to punch him even while I understood why he acted like a jerk. But I loved how his good memories and his friends played a big part in the story, and helping him realize he deserved love! Avery is absolutely awesome, and I'm glad they got this second chance! Now, I can't wait for Matt's story (and any other planned in this incredible little town)!

Adriana Locke has done it again! Trouble has lived up to the hype. I have been impatiently waiting this book since the release of the last one! When Penn meets Avery for the first time he feels a connection that but he can’t figure it out.
Avery, however, knows instantly that he is the boy from ten years ago, She’s disappointed when she realize he doesn’t remember that night So, when he tries to pick her up, she declines again and again until she finally gives in. But will he let his past dictate his future happiness? I would 100% recommend this to everyone.

I can’t wait until Matt’s book!!

I got totally invested in the characters not just the main ones as well. Relaxed and enjoyable read with background stories to make the characters real and flawed. Follow the twists and turns making you keep reading and turning the pages with your fingers crossed for the outcome you want. I will be looking out to see if any follow up stories for the supporting characters and any other books by this author

Adriana Locke has brought back all the lovable characters to Dogwood Lane. You become part of the small community in this small town when you are reading this series.

Avery has moved to Dogwood Lane to get away from all the Hollywood self centered people who have only ever used her for her connections. Even her family use her to move forward against each other.

She moves in with her Aunt Harper. The first day in the hair salon she is up on a ladder trying to hang a speaker when Penn Etling walks in, she falls from the ladder and he catches her.

Penn has grown up all his life in Dogwood Lane. He has tried to hide all the good deeds he helps the residents. Like fixing the broken step of the Inn run by a 90 year old lady.

He knows that he is not the one to settle down. After how he witnessed his parents failures while growing up, he is determined not to repeat them.

Penn has asked Avery out. She has turned him down on multiple occasions. She explained to him the she is looking for a long term relationship. She doesn’t believe that Penn is a relationship kind of guy, which he all but tells her he’s not.

But there is a familiarity and connection that Penn feels with Avery. Even with her turning him down, he has decided that he will be her friend. That friendship becomes easy and they discuss each other’s past and why they have chosen their paths.

But Avery has kept a secret from Penn, and when he discovers the truth before she has a chance to tell him herself, he turns to his friend Matt to try to explain.

When Penn tries to deny any relationship with Avery, she tells Penn that she was upfront about what she wanted her future to hold.

Can Penn’s friends help him work through his issues of the past so that he can go after Avery and make her happy?

I just knew from the first page that I was going to love this story, no ifs, no buts, it was everything I love in a romance novel. Yes, Penn Etling was a cocky ladies man, but he had the whole, fun, sexy, cute vibe going on. I loved him. No long term commitments in his future, ever, he’s happy being the ultimate bachelor. Enter Avery Perry, she’s definitely got Penn’s number, and she most definitely won’t be getting drawn into his webb. Avery is looking for commitment, she wants love, marriage, kids, the whole shebang, and she knows that Penn is someone she needs to stay far, far away from. Fate however keeps throwing them together, and a friendship ensues, they tell each other their deepest darkest secrets, their worries, their everything, well almost everything, there’s that one thing that Avery is withholding. A wonderful story. I’m really loving the characters of Dogwood Lane (this book can be read as a stand-alone, but please note the first two books are equally as enjoyable). A super cute, fun read, with faultless writing and a story that kept me enthralled from the first page. I received an advanced copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. This is my honest review.

I loved revisiting Dogwood Lane, and getting Penn's story was everything and more. He's the one everything dismisses as the goofball, the one who takes nothing serious. Getting to learn who the real Penn is was a wonderful surprise. Avery comes to the small town to escape hectic life in California, and Penn sets his eyes on her immediately. But something is different with her, something that makes his friends take notice as well. Avery is immune to Penn's usual charm, but he never stops trying to get her into his bed, until she says all she can give him is friendship, so he does the one thing he has never done, he becomes her friend. This is a beautiful story about how no matter what age we are, there's always time to expand you maturities.

I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Avery is tired of living in somebody else's shadow. so she moves to Dogwood Lane to try and reinvent herself. Penn is quite happy with his life the way it is. He has good friends, a good job, and a good time with any woman that he wants. Avery wants to be valued and Penn just wants to have fun. Somehow when they get together they both have an entirely different story to tell.

I've read the other two books in the series, and I was wondering how Adriana Locke was going to pull off telling Penn's story. Every book I've read by this author has been complex, and Penn is just, light and flirty. We learn more about Penn and he becomes more complex, without losing his fun loving personality.

I also appreciate how the ending remained true to the character.. I prefer when there is not a sweping personality change just to make a traditional looking HEA. Growth is gradual and occurs as a result of circumstances that logically lead to outlook changes, but not personality changes.

overall I be would definitely recommend this book. It can be a standalone,, but is far more enjoyable if the other two books are read first.

I first stumbled across Adriana Locke’s Landry Family series a few months ago and I was immediately hooked on this author. Her characters are genuine, flawed and real and you quickly find yourself invested in their stories. She has a way of giving just enough detail and insight into each character that they come to life but without overdosing the reader with so much detail that you lose the purpose of the story. When I adore an author’s work as much as I do Adriana’s I always worry about new releases...will they live up to what I have come to expect? Her latest (not yet released) book did not disappoint one bit! Trouble is the story of Penn and Avery and sucked me in from the very beginning. I LOVED Avery! She is a perfect example of a strong woman finding her way. She has made mistakes in the past and let people push her around but she has finally found her footing and she’s not having it anymore. She knows what she needs out of life and she won’t give that up. Often strong female figures in novels can come across (to me anyways) as annoying but not Avery. She tough but tender. Discovering that Penn does in fact have a heart of gold that’s just a little jaded and then watching him evolve through the book is heart affirming. I absolutely loved it!

I've adored Penn from day one. He is the one who just makes me laugh so hard but also doesn't think he is worthy of love. This man has so much love in him for his friends. I knew he would be my favorite. He had so many amazing lines that I literally laughed out loud. Adriana is so brilliant when it comes to these amazing small town romance stories. She writes in such a way I feel like I'm there and these characters are my friends.

Avery as a heroine was amazing. She truly gave Penn a run for his money and I loved it! She's a strong heroine which is exactly the type of woman Penn needs. I can't wait to see who Adriana has up next in this brilliant series.

Read this book!! 5 stars, read the rest in the series too so you can fall for Penn from book one.

Enjoyable story about Penn and Avery who live in the same small town. Penn is commitment phobic and bit of a player. Avery has a famous actress as a mother and has moved to get away from the fame.

Trouble is book three in the Dodwood Lane Sreies, but can easily be read as a stand alone. For best reading experience I recommend to read the books in order. The previous books are Tumble and Tangle. Trouble is published by Montlake.
Meet Penn and Avery.
Penn is a carpenter, proud of his work, a good guy. He's single and enjoys it.
That's about to change, only he has no clue, yet.
Avery Perry is new in Dodwood Lane. She moved from LA and works as hairdresser in her aunts salon. She changed her famous parents and the glitz and glanour of HW for a small town life and is happy.
Penn and Avery are like magnets, when they meet fro the first time, you can feel their instant attraction in every word, goosebumps included.
But they haven't much in common, Penn is Penn, untamable and Avery wants to settle down, have relationship and a picked fence life. What to do when the concept of dating makes one of the characters ill and the other one finds it crucial.
Trouble is my favorite rom/com by AL. The writing is excellent and I connected very easilky with the characters. There isn't a villain or a victim - both are normal people with normal dreams, normal problems and normal everyday lives. And I loved it.
The book is a read cover to cover in one sitting story, unputdoenable, sitting in the edge of my seat and couldn't let it go read.
I recommend the book and the series, 5 stars.

Oh, my word!! Adriana Locke has done it again!
Trouble certainly lives up to its name and Peck is the bringer of it. Not in a bad way, just with his fears and insecurities from growing up the way he did. It’s those fears and his belief that he isn’t capable or deserving of love that holds him back, even when he can’t see it for what it is.
Peck and Avery have a past connection that he feels when she returns to Dogwood Lane, but he can’t figure it out and dismisses it.
Avery, however, recognized the boy from ten years ago, the one who lit up her life for one spectacular night. She’s disappointed when she realizes Peck doesn’t remember that night… at all!! So, when he tries to pick her up, she brushes him off in her signature snarky, sassy manner.
Peck’s not used to being told no, in fact, Avery is his first failure and he can’t accept it. He keeps trying and she finally caves- who wouldn’t. This guy, is the sweetest, kindest, sexiest of men. He doesn’t even know the half of how good he is and that’s what makes him so appealing. Yeah, he’s a bit full of himself, but not in a truly cocky or arrogant way.
But… yeah, there’s always a but, lol, he is ruled but those insecurities and he lets them get inside his head.
Avery knows she’s tried her hardest, and that she has to do what’s best for her. Peck is that best, but can he overcome his fears and face the future with the girl who owns his heart?
Seeing the previous couples from Tumble and Tangle was fun too and I can’t wait to see who is next to get a book set here.

This book is about a girl, Avery, who leaves the life of people only wanting her so they could move themselves up the ladder through her family name. She wants something different- something more. She wants something real. So one day she decides to move from LA to a small town called Dogwood Lane, to move in with her aunt. Her first day there she doesn’t expect to run into her ruggedly handsome one night stand, Penn.
Penn is well known for his ways around town with the women and never settling for anything more than a night with someone.... so when she remembers him but he doesn’t remember her - she keeps it to herself. Despite the heat growing between them and the endless flirting, Avery knows she can’t give into him again - not that kind of trouble again. Not the kind she just ran away from. But will resistance be enough? Or will Avery be the one girl to finally change Penn’s playboy lifestyle if she’ll only give him another chance?

I cannot begin to tell you all how much I loved this book!! I could not put it down and desperately did not want it to end!! Penn is hilarious with his non stop innuendos and Avery is strong enough to handle him unlike some of the other girls. I love how Adriana went deep into their backstories and built up Matt’s character so you could really feel how close of a friendship him and Penn have. I always love dual POVs so you can get a better feel for both characters’ personalities. There were so many times where I found myself yelling at Penn saying “What the hell is wrong with you!?” or “Don’t do that!!” “What are you doing??” “Get your shit together!!” Lol you know it’s a good book when you start yelling at the characters!
Adriana pulls you in with this story and captivates you right away! You will love the characters. You will get frustrated with the characters. You will laugh with the characters.
You really do not want to miss reading this one! It’s gold! I’m telling you! You won’t want to “adult” until you’ve devoured each and every page in this book!

I fell in love with everything about this book. It seriously had "all the feels" and I'm so looking forward to Matt's story.

Dogwood Lane is a special, lazy little town, a much different scene from L.A. for Avery Perry. Who else to be the first to welcome Avery to town than the resident playboy, Penn Etling. Penn is completely enamored with the sexy Avery and immediately puts on the moves, he wants her fiercely.

Avery is done with shallow relationships. She's lived her entire life to please others and never having truly felt loved or appreciated in a relationship. Heading back to Tennessee to live with her Aunt Harper is exactly what feels right. Avery is ready for more. She wants to feel loved, appreciated. Penn is a dog barking up the wrong tree with his love 'em and leave 'em attitude.

But chemistry is a tough bitch for sure and she is feeling rooted within these two and determined to pull them together. Their sparks are electric and the energy between them is hot. You can't help but want them together.

Under the surface, Penn is an amazingly good man. He has had a rough upbringing but has overcome it despite his inability to see that he is more than what his parents gave.

The community, the emotional journey, and the relationship that blooms on Dogwood Lane made for a great read.

This is only the second book I've read by this author (the last book I also got from NetGalley, the previous book on this series Tangle) and just like after finishing that book, I'm wondering why I have not read every word she's written!? These books have been so fun to read. Sweet but funny, enough sexiness without being overkill. Just well balanced emotion. I'm loving the characters, they're easy to root for and you can't really choose sides, which I like. Penn was such a great character, more than you expect, and you just have to love him! I loved Avery's tie to Dogwood. I just loved everything about this story. I probably said this on my review of Tangle, but I really need to go back and read the rest of her stuff!

Loved it!! This book was good and this series is also! Thus is book three in the series. It's Avery and Penn book, Penn is a hottie Carpenter and is very taken with the beautiful stranger! Avery remembers penn as if it was yesterday, she remembers there one night stand about how hot it was and how they had so much chemistry but She also can tell penn does not even remember her! Should she give this bad boy another chance? The chemistry is still there so maybe she should? I definitely recommend reading this one it was a good addition to the series! Thank you Netgalley and the publishers for sharing this book with me!
