I loved this book so much I stayed up all night reading it...and I would dive into the sequel immediately, if I had it in my greedy paws. Can’t wait for Cry Wolf in 2021, though it will be bittersweet to close the chapter on Park and Cooper (who climb higher in my favorite characters/couple ranks with each book). Needless to say: if you like this series, this latest installment will not disappoint.

I was actually supposed to read this ages ago, but I fell into a rut and haven't read hardly anything for the past year. I also managed to not realize I haven't read the third book. Ooops. However I wasn't lost at all reading this. I really enjoy this world CA has come up with. I love the characters still. I was so happy to read and "see" that even though they were undercover they still progressed their relationship during the retreat. Of course they would, but it was still nice. I didn't really, and still don't really care about the "case", it's fine whatever. But the big draw here are the main characters and their journey together, and how their relationship develops and progresses. Those are the scenes I found the most compelling. Seeing them be vulnerable and honest with each other was heartwarming. I loved every moment of that.

This might be my favorite book in the series! I love a good remote, resort mystery. A mystery killer and bodies showing up all over?? That’s my kind of book. The wait for this book to come out felt like it took forever, but it is so worth it!!

The relationship between Cooper and Park is pretty good at this point - they’ve survived meeting Cooper’s family, and more importantly, Oliver’s family. So everything should be smooth sailing from here, right? Well, when the two get called in to go undercover at a werewolf relationship/counseling resort, their relationship gets tested in unexpected ways.

One drawback to having to go undercover is that Park is a bit of a celebrity, royalty even, in the werewolf world. He’s pretty feared, even if that’s not the kind of person he is now. Lucky for them, the part of the US they’re in isn’t reused by the
Park pack so while almost all wolves know him as the Shepard, they don’t know what he looks like.

The story is told solely from Cooper’s POV and I think Cooper’s dry humor is coming through a lot more in this book than in previous ones. There are moments that cracked me up and listening to this on audiobook is great too. Eriq Bloomquist does a fabulous job again at capturing and performing Cooper’s voice. I think it’s been too much time since I binge read the series by audio though? I thought there were some instances where it felt like the voices sounded different than they used to in the audiobooks, but could be just me.

I don’t want to spoil anything but I thought it was great that we get to see Cooper in such a werewolf heavy environment with people who aren’t related to Park, and we see their reactions to Cooper. He’s still a super anxious human in a world he’s still trying to acclimate to because of his job and his boyfriend. I’m kind of iffy about one thing that Cooper finds out about himself in this story and that we don’t see really get to see Oliver’s reaction? Or at least not in this book. It just seems to come out of nowhere and has a very “not Ike other humans” feel that I’m not loving.

I thought this was a very fun mystery (and very deadly one) since I loved secluded resort mysteries in general and this did not disappoint. I love Cooper and Oliver, so nothing new there. Important revelation in this book seems to come out of nowhere that I’m not a big fan of, but it is what it is.

Every book in this series has been excellent, I loved them so much I needed them all in signed paperback. I normally don't like books that feature the same couple in every book but this series does it incredibly well by moving the couple along but also introducing a 'big bad' every time for them to essentially defeat. I love it.

Agents Cooper Dayton and Oliver Park are being called in on a new case to help the Bureau of Special Investigations look into the mysterious disappearance of a former alpha wolf. The man worked at a couples retreat and so the BSI is sending Park and Cooper in undercover to pose as a couple in need of counseling — which isn’t too far off the mark, as things are tense between the men as they are shopping for a new house. Cooper knows he wants a life with Park, but he can’t help but worry if he can always be what Park needs.

Cooper and Park arrive in the seemingly idyllic retreat in the mountains, but it is clear things are definitely suspicious. The staff seems to have a lot of history, neighbors are claiming trespassing, other guests are behaving strangely, and some rival pack members show up stirring up trouble. Not to mention dead bodies continue to pile up.

Even as the men investigate, they begin delve more into their own relationship issues, particularly the dynamics between them. Cooper can’t help but worry that he can’t be all that Park needs, particularly after Park’s family warned him about human and wolf partnerships. Yet despite having issues they need to address, Cooper also knows that he loves Park deeply and wants nothing more than to spend their lives together. But with a killer on the loose, Park and Cooper must figure out who is behind it all or they may risk losing their lives in the process.

Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing is the fourth book in Charlie Adhara’s wonderful Big Bad Wolf series. The series was originally set to be a trilogy, so I was thrilled to find out that Adhara was releasing more books, as I really love this paranormal romantic suspense. For me, this book brought out a new dimension to Cooper and Park’s relationship that I just loved. While it is clear that the men have been committed to one another for a while, here things take on a new intensity as Cooper really comes to recognize that Park is it for him. The wolf/human partnership isn’t always easy, and we see that reflected here as well. Cooper is still figuring out just how to fit into Park’s world, and he worries that if Park is all in, Cooper may let him down or make him feel trapped. But this story shows just how right these guys are for one another and how strong a bond they have. For me, this story was the most romantic of the series and I just loved watching their relationship continue to grow and strengthen.

The mystery is also well done and it is complex enough to be interesting, without being overwhelming. The setting allows for a remote seclusion that enhances the storyline, particularly when a horrible storm leaves them even more isolated. I think the set up here takes up a good portion of the book, so it did feel like it took a while to really get into the meat of the suspense element. But I found it engaging and Adhara does a nice job of bringing out elements in the case that showcase aspects of Cooper and Park’s relationship in interesting ways.

So I continue to be a huge fan of this series and I am just thrilled that it is continuing. The book ends with a nice segue in what is happening in the next book, and I am really eager for more.

I was so excited when I saw this book on Carina Press’s coming soon page! This is book number four in the Big Bad Wolf series, and it definitely needs to be read as such.
While book two dealt with introducing Cooper’s family, and book three introduced Oliver’s, this story brings us back to our two main characters doing what they do best, working a case together for the BSI. Although our men previously quit that job, a favour for their old boss sees them going undercover at a werewolf retreat.
I loved this addition to the series, the author delivering a perfect balance of relationship development and detective work. As much as we’ve learnt about Oliver, in some ways he’s still quite an enigma, and Cooper is struggling with letting go of his independence in regard to moving into a house with Oliver. This book allows the pair to strengthen the bond they already have, by having to rely on each other as the only people they can trust in the isolated setting of the retreat. As with the previous book in this series, the author makes these men really talk to each other. They both have to force themselves to do it, but these two have the most open, beautiful conversations, that make me fall in love with them a little more each time. During one scene in this book, Oliver declares that being with Cooper makes him feel free for the first time ever, and that’s something that the author really makes you feel. I loved the way that the author tied the issues at the retreat with the demons from Oliver’s past, but the scenario felt natural and unforced. His past as the Shepard once again takes the stage, while Cooper himself struggles with what it means to be an alpha. This theme, of privilege and domination of the ‘weak’ is a common thread through this series and I really enjoy reading about how this is viewed by others within the werewolf world.
The mystery of the missing wolves was also well done and kept me guessing. I appreciate it when an author can keep the secret of what is going on through until the end.
This story ends not with a cliffhanger, but with a solid lead into the next book which has left me desperate for more.

Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing has all the hallmarks of a classic house-party mystery: isolated location, communications cut-off due to unexpectedly bad weather and a full cast of shady characters with hidden motivations. Full of tension and secrets, Adhara continues to craft fascinating mysteries while complicating and deepening the relationship between the cross-species crime-solving & romantic partners, Dayton and Park, who in this installment go undercover at a relationship retreat while tracking a missing person.

Adhara continues to tackle traumatic topics, like PTSD and bigotry with care, and it makes each realization by Oliver and Cooper more meaningful and hopeful despite the darkness of Adhara’s world of secretive werewolf packs.

Fans of Oliver and Cooper will love this mystery and be further drawn into this world, while cursing having to wait another year before Cry Wolf comes out. Readers who have not yet jumped on the Big Bad Wolf bandwagon should not hesitate to run off and catch up as Adhara’s rich storytelling and engaging mysteries are worth the investment of reading the prior three.

Ahhhh! I LOVED Wolf in Sheep's Clothing so much!! Hands down my favorite of the series so far. Cooper and Park have both grown so much from book one and their relationship has become even sweeter. This was a whirl of feelings, spanning laugh out loud moments to tender feels. I loved watching their interactions and how they are growing together as a unit. The retreat was a great backdrop and I really enjoyed meeting some other wolves and learning about different packs. The whodunnit throughline was enjoyable and Adhara did a great job keeping you guessing. I cannot wait for the next book, especially following that ending!

This is turning into an all time favourite shifter series and this latest book is definitely my favourite so far. This story has Park and Cooper at a shifter couples’ therapy retreat. They might be undercover but after all the revelations in the previous book, they definitely have some shit to work through together. Between their investigation and their personal dramas, the story is alternately exciting and laugh out loud funny.

There is something of a traditional Sherlock Holmes or Agatha Christie feel to Park and Cooper’s undercover investigation at the retreat. The characters – both the dysfunctional couples and the eccentric staff – are brilliant and the isolated location means they are all suspects. The contrasts between the ultramodern concept of relationship therapy, the rigid werewolf traditions, and the conventional mystery format make for an entertaining and very original story that I raced to finish.

This is such a fantastic series and I’m already excited for the next book. As someone who has read just about every possible shifter story, I love that I continue to be surprised by these books. I highly recommend this series and I absolutely loved this book.

This is the fourth book in the series following the same couple who have already gotten together and now we see them navigating being in a relationship, something none of the MCs has much experience with while simultaneously investigating another criminal case involving werewolves.

This story is well written and the suspense plot is very engaging. I liked how atmospheric the setting was, we get a strong sense of the place where the story is set, a picturesque mountain retreat, simultaneously isolated and lush, dangerous both for humans and werewolves,

Oliver and cooper went undercover into a couples' retreat for werewolves. and were forced by te circumstances to talk through a lot of the things between them. On top of the close quarters, they got caught in a brutal storm deep into a murder investigation. I liked seeing them opening more with each other, talking about their fears and doubts. They get the chance to learn more about teir partner but also to discover new things about themselves.

The issues they faced in their relationship felt real to me - (self)-doubt, are you good enough for your partner, do you want to same things in the long term. And all this ad the added bonus of one of them being a werewolf in a world were werewolves existed but few humans knew about them.

Among of the strengths of the book for me was the inclusivity of the world it created - we see m/f, f/f and m/m couples. I also liked the way PTSD and anxiety were presented in the story. Most of all I liked how Oliver and Cooper's love was show as caring and protecting your partner. This resonated deeply with me.

This is shaping into a great rom suspense series and I can't wait to read the next book with more of Oliver and Cooper's adventures coming out in 2021.

This is the perfect follow up book to an amazing series! Charlie does such an amazing job at making her characters so real. I love these characters I really hope there are more books to come!

I have thoroughly enjoyed this entire series. The writing is getting more solid as it goes along as well. There was just enough tension in this for me. The amount of graphic sex keeps it from being a cozy but the violence and suspense isn't quite graphic enough to be a hardboil crime novel either. A solid mystery and the werewolf thing is integrated in a good way.

Ugh! Cooper, Cooper, Cooper! It's pretty safe to say that I was pretty fed up with Cooper in this book. If you've read any of this series, then it's no surprise that Cooper needs to get a clue more often than not. It's really sad that Agent Cooper is so completely obtuse and that he never seems to see what's right in front of him, but he drove me completely crazy in this one. It reached a point that I kind of wanted to see Park just walk away for good because he deserves to be treated so much better. Honestly, the only thing that saved this one for me was the suspense. Well, that, and the well-timed wit throughout the story. And somehow, regardless of how irritated I was Cooper, the author still manages to make this pair hot enough to set my Kindle on fire. So, basically, this one was a solid suspense story with some steamy fun and a romance that drove me to distraction. There you have it, and because I do love Park so much, I probably will check out whatever is next in this series.

Absolutely loved this next chapter in the saga of Cooper and Oliver! The mystery is riveting and the character development as Cooper tries to come to terms with a number of recent discoveries is fantastic. Oh, and Oliver, the epitome of tall, dark, handsome, and calmly authoritative and powerful, has the patience of a saint…though we also discover some insecurity as well.

As the story begins Oliver and Cooper are house hunting. Well, Oliver is house hunting and Cooper is freaking out. At this point it is probably important to point out that the storyline and character issues will make a lot more sense if you’ve read and remember the previous books. A key running point hinges on information from the previous book and there are several references to the earlier books as well. You can certainly read and understand this story on it’s own but for full appreciation of the main characters and their motivations and issues you need background and context.

Cooper is contacted by his old boss who requests his help on a probable missing person case in NC. He and Oliver go undercover at a couples retreat which is a bit close for comfort as they clearly have some issues to work out. The mystery of what is going on is intriguing, the players introduced add nicely to the mystery and the investigations, the red herrings are well done and the way the suspense story melds with the character development is great.

The climactic moment is such a great blending of all the story threads it is a perfect example of masterful writing and storytelling. The tension is palpable, the discovery of the villain and the encounter with same different than expected and the resolution heartwarming and revealing.

The book ends on a segue to the next book which we have to wait until 2021 for which is just too damn long! It also references a previous book so the “wow!” moment won’t hit you if you haven’t read the earlier books. This book is a highly recommend!

I adore Cooper and Park and this series gets better with each new addition. It should come as no surprise that Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing was no exception.

Cooper and Park’s relationship has grown serious to the point that they are living together. As much as Cooper loves his apartment, it’s become obvious that, while it’s comfortable for him and Parker isn’t complaining, the cramped space isn’t exactly practical. While he agrees that they need a new place and can’t wait to take their relationship to the next level, the options that Park has given him so far aren’t places that Cooper can see himself living. So yeah, there was underlying tension, which is why he had no problem abandoning the house hunting for some time away, even if it was for work.

And… even though it was for work, both Park and Cooper came to some revelations about themselves – both individually and as a couple. Cooper faced some of his fears and Park did as well. They grew as a couple without even expecting it to happen. Some of their realizations were a little heartbreaking, but it helped them heal old wounds they had almost forgotten about.

There was so much to love about Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing. The romance, the danger, the mystery and most of all how all of it just brought these two closer. I can’t wait to see what Charlie Adhara has in store for Cooper and Park next. ❤

This series continues to just get better and better. If you love a romance with depth, fast paced mystery's, along with the added extra of the supernatural (this time with werewolves), then this could be the book for you.

I requested this without realizing how dependent upon the previous novels in the series this was. So...I read the three preceding books before jumping back into this. Unfortunately the three previous were much more entertaining reads. I didn’t feel like much happened in the way of further developing our characters here. The same cycle of emotions played out. Entertaining sure but not the progression I was hoping for.

I think a lot of romance fans have shied away from this series because it involves shifters, and that's such a shame! Yes, it's a story about wolves and humans, but Charlie Adhara absolutely gets the balance just right, and the combination of Cooper and Oliver is magic. I'm so happy the author is continuing on with this pair. They're absolutely one of my favorite romantic pairings.

House hunting is making Cooper anxious. Well, Cooper lives in a constant state of anxiety - about his job, about his relationship, about his life in general - but the search has turned it up to next level. He's unwilling to verbalize his stress to Oliver, so instead he just internalizes it. Which always helps. Fortunately, he's partners (in love and work) with Oliver Hudson, a master at reading Cooper's complex emotional state. Oliver gets that something is worrying Cooper about the houses and the process, only he can't quite put his finger on it. So, these two are totally in sync feelings wise, but out of sync when it comes to the practical nitty gritty of a life together. AKA business as usual with Cooper and Oliver. It's frustrating and delightful.

The house hunt gets pushed to the back burner when the two are sent undercover to discover what happened to a missing alpha werewolf. Their undercover identities keep them together as a couple, and give them an opportunity to work on their relationship...except, someone is killing wolves and spoiling what should be an idyllic sojourn in the woods. Everyone is suspicious...and no one is talking.

Look, I loved the mystery and the investigation into what's actually happening at the couples retreat. It's clever and complex - maybe too complex? I sometimes had a hard time keeping up with the number of secondary characters in this one. The last minute addition of two more - who may or may not know Oliver's true identity - felt a bit superfluous to this tightly crafted mystery. But those complaints are about the only thing wrong with this story because THE ROMANCE IS AWESOME AND SEXY AND SMART AND STEAMY AND EXCELLENT.

I think I mentioned how much I love this couple? Let me repeat, they are a delight - in bed and out of it. They care for each other, and look out for one another, and are an amazing team working together, and...look, it's such a wonderful partnership, and Adhara wisely centers their relationship to drive this story to it's climatic conclusion. I always look forward to their shared scenes, and I like how Adhara doesn't always make it easy for them to be together. Teamwork Makes This Dream TOTALLY Work. Oh, and BTW, they're also sexy as hell together and the steam level in this novel is PERFECT. It's hot and tender and sexy and excellent in every way.

I sighed when I finished this one, and I can't wait for more.

With a good deal of time between releases, it’s easy to forget just how much I enjoy the Big Bad Wolf series, but four books in and I still can’t get enough. Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing is definitely best read in order as the couple is the same throughout the series and the overarching storylines extend between books. This book included another fun adventure for Park and Cooper as they work undercover to track missing persons at an exclusive couples’ resort.

Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing felt like a warm, fun welcome back to a world I immensely enjoy. I love the way Park and Cooper’s relationship continues to develop over the entire series. It’s definitely not always easy for these two but I enjoy watching them work to make it better and appreciate that even in the rough spots, their love for one another is as palpable as their insecurities. Of course this couple’s sexual chemistry continues to be very intense, ensuring this is a pair I cannot get enough of. Best of all, Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing contains the author’s signature fun, snarky banter and humor woven into interesting storylines. Suffice to say, this series delivers on all levels. The plot keeps me engaged, the couple ensures I’m invested, and the banter has me laughing and smiling. If you’re looking for a new series to get sucked into, I’d definitely recommend the Big Bad Wolf books.
