Royal Playboy is a sweet and sexy romance. The hero and heroine are great characters and I really enjoyed this story.

I really enjoyed this book and authors writing style. This is the first book of Nana Malone that I’ve read, and it won’t be the last.

I didn't know when I started the book that it was a duet and fair warning it ends in a cliffhanger. But, I can't wait to start book 2!!

Nana Malone's, a new to us author, Royal Playboy was a fun escape from the everyday and ordinary. The first page grabbed my attention and I remained glued to the story of Imani and Xander. Their unusual beginning and then the way they fell in lust and love were a throwback to the early days of the romance community's resurgence. He was a rich, alpha playboy. She was a struggling, strong artist. He had a reputation of being a bad boy. She wasn't looking for a romance. Both had pasts that threatened to haunt them, even as they were actively trying to move past them. And somehow, someway, they found each other. Their chemistry was off the charts and their banter and affection for each other was warm and endearing. Throw a little bit of a mysterious opening scene, and I was completely hooked. So much so that I immediately grabbed book two (thank goodness it was already out).

Oh my god! How can nana do this to me? Nana Malone is an incredible writer who knows how to write the worlds best cliffhangers and she’s the only one I love reading as I not much a fan of cliffhangers but she has me coming back for more each time she brings a new book out! The story flows really well, the writing has you gripped and not wanting to put the book down. The passion is sizzling, the drama is intense and the characters are fabulous, you can’t help but liking them! Another addictive read from the author that had me powering through the story in no time at all. You're pulled right in, and when the book ends you'll be desperate for more. Well worth the read if you're a fan of the author. So roll on the next book please as quickly as you can. Happy reading!!

I'm terrible with cliffhangers! I admit it. I'm a greedy reader with grabby hands and I want it all now!

I have so many questions. I have so many reasons to want Xander to see his revenge through. Ahhhhhh! I just need Playboy's Heart so I can get my answers.

Look at me! I'm turning into that annoying whiner no one wants to acknowledge or talk to! I'm frustrated absolutely frustrated.

Xander is an ass but this bad boy royal has so many reasons to be a guarded twat. I forgive. You will too. I just need to know what happens next!!!!!!

The Playboy Falls Hard!

This is the first book in Nana Malone’s latest Duet: Playboy Prince. This book sucks you in to the story IMMEDIATELY; opening with a dramatic BANG that happens in the present day, then flying backwards in time to when Xander and Imani met and taking us through their story. There is so much going on with these characters and the overarching story line – secrets and danger, love and passion, wrapped up with a complicated bow! We met Xander’s character in the last duet that featured his brother’s story, and now we dive head-first into his.

Your fingers will be flying through the pages trying to keep up with all the steamy chemistry and twisty turns. This is book one in a DUET, so it does end on a major cliffhanger. I knew it would but it still hit me when I got to the end. YIKES, so much to worry about with our H&h – I’m anxiously awaiting the conclusion, which is coming soon!

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher, I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

I can honestly say I feel tortured right along with Xander but in different ways. Xander Chase is our hero and he has not had a pretty childhood and his adulthood has led him to make some very poor choices in life. He's successful, hes hot as sin, and well he's bent on vengeance.

Imani is a pretty strong heroine. She has her own past issues but she hasn't made quite as many bad choices as Xander. When they meet it's explosive jump off the pages chemistry, he's struck dumb by their encounter and she's terrified of what she's done. They meet again the next day and things from there start their adventure of lies, deceit, and falling in love.

She doesn't want to want him, because their arrangement will only lead her to heartbreak. The more she gets to know him the harder she's falling. He doesn't want to get close, because he has been burnt before and knows that when she finds out his secrets she will run away and he's not ready to give up the best feeling in the world just yet.

this has a major cliffhanger and leaves us desperately wanting more because we need answers to how the story begins, and what in the hell happens to Xander at the end. Can't wait for the next installment.

The opening to this book...and the end...OMG, I didn't love Xander in his brother's story, but I totally love him in his own! Imani is everything he needs, but didn't think he could have and I love them together! I need book 2 NOW!

3.75 stars--ROYAL PLAYBOY is the first instalment in Nana Malone’s contemporary, adult PLAYBOY PRINCE erotic, romance duet focusing on British photographer Xander Chase, and American actress Imani Brooks. Xander and Imani were first introduced in the London Royal series focusing on Xander’s brother Lex.

NOTE: ROYAL PLAYBOY is the re-release of the author’s 2015 LONDON CALLING (Chase Brothers #2) with added, modified and expanded content.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Imani and Xander) following two timelines, ROYAL PLAYBOY follows the fake girlfriend/boyfriend relationship between photographer Xander Chase, and American actress Imani Brooks. Imani is desperate for money having received a call from her sister saying their alcoholic father had not been paying the bills. Researching for an upcoming role, Imani finds herself interviewing a high priced escort that will eventually pull our heroine into the darker side of life where she meets a man who only wants to talk. To Imani’s surprise said man is none other than renowned photographer Xander Chase, the photographer hired to shoot her latest promo pictures for an upcoming show. But all is not well in Xander Chase’s world, and our hero soon discovers he needs a ‘significant other’ in order to impress some potential clients, clients he needs for his journey of revenge. What ensues is the fake girlfriend/fiancé relationship between Imani and Xander that turns into something more, and the potential fall-out a Xander struggles with issues from the past, as Imani’s past is out to destroy her short-lived happiness in the arms of Xander Chase.

The relationship between Xander and Imani begins as a business exchange but Imani struggles with her attraction to Xander Chase. Their one night together results in emotions that neither one expected, emotions that will soon develop into something more. The $ex scenes are intimate and erotic but I struggle with the use of a certain four-letter word in my romance story line-erotic or otherwise.

The colorful secondary and supporting characters include Xander’s brother Alexi, and his girlfriend Abbie -first introduced in the newly renamed LONDON ROYAL series ; Imani’s father, and her sister Ebony; businessman and Xander’s nemesis Alistair McMahon: escort Miriam; director Charles Adams; and Imani’s ex boyfriend Ryan Ellison.

ROYAL PLAYBOY is a quick read; a story of betrayal and revenge; secrets and lies; attraction, relationships and love. The premise is captivating and engaging; the romance is heart breaking and provocative; the characters are broken, desperate, and energetic. Royal Playboy ends on a cliff hanger-you have been warned

Wow, Xander’s got some real heavy baggage to deal with and vengeance is riding him hard. I can’t wait to see what he’s going to do when he learns Imani’s secrets. But that ending is such a mean cliffhanger. Why you gotta do that Nana?

Getting women to sleep with him easy. There would be no relief for him. No matter had many times he had her. She was a means to an end. Unfortunately for him the end wasn’t pleasure. It was more like revenge. She had information he needed. She was Alister’s wife. Screwing her was one more domino on his way to taking down the man. He hated he couldn’t remember her name., but he did remember who’s wife she was. He waited until she was asleep and he knew it was time for him to get to work. Xander booted up her laptop . Thanks to one shot of tequila to many and his fingers working magic in her panties and he got enough information from her to make a decent stab at her password . he got in on his third try, he copied all the files to his harddrive. Then he shut down her computer and put it back in the bag. He would call the cleaning crew to deal with the unwanted guest. He had to ignore the tiny voice telling him that inside he was beyond buggered. It didn’t help that thanks to the Chase name, the royal connections, and his face woman after woman happily climbed into his bed . But the end result was always the same he was dead inside. There had to be a better way. He would only survive so much more before he became irrevocably broken. Maybe it was already too late for that. Seperation of life and sex was important to Xander. He had far too much riding on hos goals. It was time to get serious. He couldn’t afford to get distracted. He thought of the one woman he shouldn’t want and couldn’t have. Lex and Xander had been on the run He said”Now maybe you can tell me why we’re running like wee in Olympic training.” Lex was adept at seeing through Xander. They've been through too much together . For months since he had told Lex the plan. Lex had tried to talk him out of it. Xander had to find a bride to improve his playboy image. Imani was a theater actress. Than Imani and Xander met.
I really loved this book until the very end. It had been a five rating but then… it ended in a cliffhanger. I hate cliffhangers. I did really love the opposites attract scenario between Imani and Xander. I loved Xander and Imani’s hot chemistry yet slow build to romance and love. I loved that Xander and Imani healed each other. I loved the pace and plot. Oh well hope I catch the next book. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book - just beware it ends in a cliffhanger- other wise I recommend it

I have heard so many good things about this author that I figured I should finally try one of her books. Sadly, I did not finish this one. I gave up at 20%.
I did skip to the end and notice it ends on a cliff hanger.

I was really excited to read this story. This was my first time reading a book by this author. I think her writing is brilliant. She had a little bit of everything.

So it pains me to say, I didn’t completely love this book. I saw glimpses here and there of something I could attach to and form a bond with these characters, but didn’t fully reach that connection.
There was too many moving puzzle pieces.

Imani and Xander have both been through quite a bit of trauma.
I did feel chemistry and attraction between them, but they never fully opened up to each other and that created a disconnect for me.

I’m not sure, but I thought this was a stand-alone duet. But apparently Xander’s brother - Alexi - has an already published duet.
My point being, I definitely felt like I was missing part of the story. That could be my mistake.
I think knowing what I know now, I’d have read those two books before diving into this one.

I think there were great elements to this story. It kept engaged as the author has great storytelling abilities. And I’d still love to see how things turn out in the next book, as this one does end in a cliffhanger.

First things first, wtf?! I was so thrown off by how much I liked this and let's be honest, I wasn't expecting much and thought this was going to an over the top cheesefest sooo… bravo Nana Malone! Kudos to you! This was a lot better than I had expected. The hot chemistry, oozing sexual tension and well done opposites attract component won me over and I’m mind blown to find out this was so well written for a book with less than two hundred pages. It sure flew by and before I knew it the cliffhanger ruined me. LIKE. HOW. DARE. YOU. END. WITH. A. CLIFFHANGER?! How dare you?! Nevertheless, I am looking forward to the highly anticipated next installment of this duology.

I liked this story but I felt that I was missing some key detail that wasn't explained. The love story was good and intense, with some sex scenes that were not too graphic. Then, it ended with a cliffhanger which definitely annoyed me. I believe that even books in a series should be complete stories. I received an advanced reader's copy from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

I'm going to start off with the good things: I think the connection between Imani and Xander is beautiful and love how the Author displayed that men can have issues with sex as well.
Now the not so good things: the chemistry was lukewarm, I didn't really learn much about the characters it felt very stiff and superficial. I just didn't feel a connection towards them so I got bored reading it. The characters overall were shallow and it didn't feel like I was in the book. It was like drinking warm milk it was pleasant but I'm not going to read it again.
