Xander and Imani’s love story is a well written romantic suspense. It’s got a great pace. You get chapters from the past & the present. Fantastic chemistry. There’s still plenty of secrets to be uncovered in book 2. Massive cliffhanger that had me swiping & looking for more.

I enjoyed this story a lot. The characters were wonderful and not only was the story interesting but it was sweet, steamy, and funny, with a bit of suspense and mystery. The chemistry between Xander and Imani was undeniable from the very beginning and I enjoyed every minute they spent together. The one thing that bothered me a bit about Xander was his thoughts about Abbie. The attraction was okay but I thought it was a bit much when he kept thinking about it even after his brother told him what he did and he knew who Abbie would become. I loved that Imani did what she had to do even though it took her away from her sister. I hope her father gets himself together and I hope Ryan gets what he deserves. The ending was full of suspense and I can't wait to read the next book. With that being said, I wished I had known that this was not a standalone story because I am truly starting to hate cliffhangers. However, this story was a great read and I look forward to the next book.

Ohhhh….Nana!!!! Why do you do this to me???

First, I need to say this is a CLIFFHANGER! But…it is a huge do-not-pass-this-one-up cliffhanger! It was a wonderful, quick, delicious read! From the start to finish I wouldn’t put it down. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time!

This story of Xander (Lex Malone’s brother) and Imani starts out intense, and doesn’t stop! Royal Playboy gives the backstory of their relationship…at least part of it…because it is a CLIFFHANGER! (Yeah, I need to get over it, I get it!) Anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed this first book of the Playboy Royal series and cannot wait for the next book in the series!

4.5⭐

Royal Playboy is an intriguing story. As straight away, you are hit with a fairly shocking event in the prologue, that rather unusually happens in the present day and then you are taken back four years to where it all started; and it's reasonable to say it's a gripping and intense tale. That sees a royal playboy out for revenge by any means necessary. Which meant there was plenty of danger around and Xander's enemies were not only ruthless but very patient.

And with two great lead characters who shouldn't have worked as a couple, but really did. Especially when you find out they have far more in common than you could ever imagine. This truly was an enthralling, interesting, and enjoyable read; and I for one can't wait to find out what happens next.

Would definitely recommend.

So, I felt the writing was good and the book kept me interested. However, it ends on a huge cliffhanger which honestly I don’t feel works with this story. There is also a lot of plot holes. Thank you to netgalley for the arc.

This is only the second book that I have read by this author and this was a vast improvement from the first book. The first chapter of this book definitely caught my attention and piqued my interest. However, the actual telling of the story left me a little frustrated as it was a flashback of how they met. I am not a fan of books being broken up like this. This frustration grew as I realized that the book was going to be a cliffhanger. Knowing this now, I am sure I can already tell how the next book is going to conclude.

Even though this book was not my favorite, there were many things that I did like such as the author's ability to create scenes that made me feel everything. I, also, enjoyed some of the characteristics of the main characters. I would have enjoyed them more and their connection together had the story not felt so rushed. I wanted more depth. I am sure I am in the minority with this as everyone else is speaking so highly of this book.

I still appreciate this author and her passion for creating stories that can live on through her audience. Even though this book didn't hit me in all the feels it still was good.

Complementary copy given for honest review.
I really don’t care for cliffhangers so this book could have been better with a different ending. The storyline is great and for those that are ok without an ending, it is perfect.

Imani and Xander have both been through some really difficult things and when they find each other they definitely don’t make things easy on each other. This story is they first half of a duet and ends on a double cliffhanger!

Imani is an extremely talented American actress in her final year of university. Xander is a very wealthy and talented photographer. Their prior life traumas are significant and serious. This book definitely needs a trigger warning for <spoiler> rape and child (sexual) abuse</spoiler>.

Xander and Imani have an immediate connection but take their time opening up to one another. By the end of this part neither knows the whole truth about the other.

This book leaves a LOT unresolved at the end - so I can’t wait for the second half!

I received this book as an ARC from NetGalley but these opinions are all my own.

This is quite a story. Xander and Imani are interesting characters. They both had a lot of traumatic things to overcome. They are terrific together. Their banter and interactions are sizzling and filled with chemistry.

The only so-called bad thing is that the book ends with a cliffhanger. You are going to want to find out what happens next... :)

This book had me hooked from the beginning with an intriguing story line and interesting characters. The book is very well written and kept me on my toes the whole time I was reading. It does end with a cliffhanger and now I cannot wait for book two to know how the rest of the story with Xander and Imani is going to play out. I really enjoyed getting to know these characters. Xander is not your typical "royal playboy" as the title may have you thinking and I really enjoyed seeing his softer side when it came to some of his interactions with Imani and the vulnerability that was there at times. There are definitely a lot of questions that still need to be answered and I cannot wait for more. I found this book to be very engaging and I would definitely recommend it.

Nana Malone’s 'Royal Playboy' is the sizzling first half of the Playboy Prince duet and ends on quite the cliffhanger. Xander Chase is hellbent on revenge. He’s been methodically planning it for years, that is until a chance meeting with Imani Brooks throws him off his game. Both have survived their fair share of trauma, but will they let their undeniable chemistry bloom into something more?

This novel’s use of timelines is interesting, in that the prologue takes place in present day, and the rest of the novel four years prior. So you have a sense of where Xander and Imani are currently, but have no idea of how they got there. If you go into the book with an open mind, knowing that you’re not going to get the full story, I think it’s more enjoyable. The cliffhanger literally happens mid-scene, so if you’re prepared for that, I think it’s an enjoyable read.

TW for those who need it: sexual abuse, rape, and parental neglect/emotional abuse are all addressed, but in a way that is sensitive and conscientious. Both the heroine and the hero have a lot of trauma to process, which makes them even more compelling as a couple. They also have a slow-burning, deliciously palpable chemistry that I can’t wait to read more of in 'Playboy’s Heart.'

**Thanks to NetGalley for providing me with an ARC of this novel in exchange for my honest review.**

I decided to read this because I read it originally as London Calling and I heard Nana Malone say she completely revamped the story. But other than a small piece at the beginning it read exactly as I remember it. Except the story has now been split into two books. I see with the royal craze they're trying to emphasize the word royal in the title and use words like princess but Xander isn't a prince he's just has a royal cousin.

The story is still good. The sizzling chemistry between Imani and Xander hooks you right away. Even though I already knew how everything would play out I still couldn't put the book down.

I received an arc from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
