Pamela Clare takes us on a journey into the world of espionage and danger as we return to the lives of Cobra Elite team to find to operatives as they fall in love. This series has led us into some terrifying and intense situations and locations and through very traumatic experiences for the characters, but Clare always finds a way to ultimately remind us that through everything the most important part of any story and really in life, is the love of two people. Quinn’s best friend has been murdered and he travels back to the UK to see his widow, only to find himself investigating the suspicious death. Quinn knows something is very wrong with the explanation with the way his mate died, but he has no idea how deep the problems go, and when he finds out just how deep he reaches out to the only woman he trusts, a woman that he desires beyond all but knows he can never have. Elizabeth has lusted after and cared for her teammate, Quinn, for ages, but she knows they can’t ever explore the attraction between them as it risks their careers. When he calls asking for her help, she knows that she can’t ignore the plea in his voice and gives up the little bit of vacation she has to travel to the UK to offer her help in person. Together Quinn and Elizabeth slowly begin to untangle the knots of plot they are trapped in, but the passion between them is no longer deniable and soon their attraction becomes something much deeper and irresistible. If they survive the killer after them, they will have to decide if the love they have found together is worth the careers they have both built for decades or it they must walk away from one another. This story was the best in the series for sure and I LOVED seeing Quinn and his Lizzie finally accept the emotions they’d been denying for so long. Quinn was a sweet and strong guy, buried in a serious badass. It was interesting seeing him in action as he kicked ass and worked his away through the drama around him and made sure that Elizabeth was safe. His sweetness and dedication were the best parts of his personality and seeing the love for his woman shining through was what made him my favorite hero in ages. Elizabeth is a woman after my own heart. She is a seriously badass woman in her own right, but she is a good teammate and when she cares for someone she quickly takes on their pain and fears. She is smart and sassy, plans ahead for every possibility and thinks fifteen steps ahead of most people, making her an amazing spy. Together Quinn and Elizabeth were the ultimate pair and the heat and sizzle between this sexy Brit and his badass woman was off the charts. I am so glad they found a way to be together for life and build a future together, a true HEA as only Pamela Clare can write. I cannot wait for whatever and whoever comes next in this series.

Pamela Clare scores again with this latest addition to the Cobra Elite Series. Hard Justice could stand alone but why miss out on this excellent series ?! Ms. Clare balances suspense, action, and passionate romance. I really appreciated this trip to Glasgow, Scotland with our hero and heroine, the settings are beautifully detailed and elegantly portrayed. If you are not familiar with the Cobra Team, you wont feel lost, Ms Clare gives enough background and her characters are concise enough to draw you in and keep you reading. There is always an element of suspense and an element of passion, but each one occurs at the naturally best time and moves the story along. Elizabeth and Quinn are complex, layered characters and their happily ever after is easy to cheer for enthusiastically.
4.0 I received my copy through NetGalley under no obligation.

CW: human trafficking, prostitution involving minors

I felt bad for ditching Jae to read this book because I told her I didn't feel like starting this one yet, but then I read the first chapter, then another, then another-

-then I finished the whole damn thing. Sorry, Jae!

Quinn and Elizabeth are teammates in Cobra, and Quinn's always had a thing for his 'Lilibet'. However Cobra has a no-fraternization policy so he's kept his distance. But then Quinn's best friend Jack was murdered, so he went back to Scotland to support Jack's grieving family and try to piece together what has happened to Jack. Elizabeth came soon after because she was the intel analyst in the team, and determined to keep Quinn out of trouble.

I have to say that Hard Justice is my favourite book in the series so far. I love, love, LOVE Quinn and Elizabeth together. Quinn's funny and charming, and I wouldn't blame Elizabeth for falling fast for him. Both of them are badasses and they made a great team together.

Parking this under #FallIntoRomBingo square: somewhere you've never been because this story is set in Scotland. I always wanted to go to Scotland! Damn Covid.

Risk-loving Elizabeth Shields can't resist a challenge. It's why she used to work for the CIA and now works for Cobra International Security and also a good part of her undeniable attraction to her coworker, Quinn McManus. The company's strict policy against employees dating means nothing can ever happen between them, but when his best friend is murdered Elizabeth scraps her vacation plans and winds up in Glasgow to comfort a grieving Quinn and help him find a murderer.

Quinn McManus joined the British Special Air Service to escape a life of poverty. His fellow soldiers became his only family, most especially his best friend, Jack Murray. With Jack murdered in a Glasgow alley, Quinn calls on Elizabeth's unique skill set to find the murderer. He doesn't plan to get too close to her, but their attraction becomes undeniable as their investigation draws dangerous attention. As they find themselves on the killer's radar, and at the center of a much larger criminal network, Quinn and Elizabeth can't deny what each means to the other, if they manage to get out of this situation with their lives and freedom intact.

I've had this ARC sitting unread on my list for entirely too long. I had never read this author before but I'll be looking for her other works now. This book had everything I want in a solid romantic suspense and reminded me why that genre got me into romance in the first place. I'm a total sucker for the protective hero, especially when he winds up being a big-hearted teddy bear on the inside and Quinn delivered on those fronts along with showing excellent character development. I loved Quinn and Elizabeth together and I so appreciated that once feelings were acknowledged there were no games, no dramatic separation, and no denying that they were determined to be together no matter what. That was lovely and made me really enjoy this book and now I look forward to my ARC of the next book in this series.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I’m pretty late in the game on this series and that’s really only because I didn’t even know it existed. I used to be a really big fan of Pamela Clare’s I-team series and since this is the spin-off, I knew that I had to give it a try. Now, I didn’t start with the first book of the series. Instead, I jumped straight into HARD JUSTICE, which is the third book in the Cobra Elite series.

I think if you haven’t read the I-team series then you can probably get by with enjoying this one, but I think the true fun comes from seeing the cameos from some of the beloved characters of the original series. I know for me, it was one of the things that I most looked forward to.

However, that’s not to say that the characters don’t hold their on in this series. I do like Clare’s brand of characters. They are very knowledgeable and intense, and they often get themselves into a mess of a situation. However, through determination and grit, they are always able to pull through. I do think some of the “magic” that was in the I-team is missing in this series, but the Cobra Elite are definitely special in their own way too. It’s obvious that comparisons will be made, but nothing will likely ever top the original I-team series for me.

Nevertheless, I am intrigued about this series and I look forward to catching up with the other books. It’s nice to see Clare back in action, dishing out intense love stories with plenty of thrilling action and suspense.

I've never been shy about sharing my love of abs on book covers. But seriously, his back....
If you can manage to tear your eyes away from the cover long enough to start reading you'll probably enjoy yourself just as much.
This book takes you on an adventure that will have falling in love and wondering what's going to happen next.

Best book of the series! I love Quinn, he is adorable and all alpha. The chemistry between Quinn and Elizabeth is a slow simmer that bursts into a flame. I thought this book was a great mix of romance, action and suspense. The characters are great, and the plot is a fast-paced race that hurdles you to the end. Can’t wait to read the next in series.

Elizabeth Shields has always craved adventure. That’s why she went to work for the CIA straight out of college. That’s probably also the reason she feels drawn to Quinn McManus, a veteran of the British Special Air Service. The big Scotsman gives off a dangerous vibe that she can’t resist. Yet, resist she must. She and Quinn both work for Cobra International Security, which has a strict policy against hook-ups between employees, and she’s too much of a professional to date a coworker. She and Quinn can never be more than friends. But when his best buddy from the SAS is found murdered on the streets of Glasgow, Elizabeth will do all she can to help Quinn cope with the loss … and find the culprit.
This was a pretty good book. The story was well paced. The main characters were really exciting to follow on their journey. I hadn’t read this author before so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I was not disappointed!

What a series this has been so far!!!!! Pamela Clare is taking the Cobra Elite Series to another level of high stakes, danger and passion.

You'll love Elizabeth Shields and Quinn McManus and their teaming!!!! A worthy read!!!

Elizabeth and Quinn have worked together for two years and have had a growing attraction during all that time. However each of them know they can't act on that attraction. For one there is a strict no fraternization at Cobra. Not to mention they each have their own personal reasons. For Elizabeth she is wary of work place romances because she had on while with the CIA which didn't end well. For Quinn he has the family with Cobra that he longed for. He doesn't want to mess that up.

However, when Quinn's friend is murdered in Glasgow and Elizabeth goes to help him find the murderer things heat up in more ways than one. I enjoyed this book. There was more than enough action to keep me interested. I loved Elizabeth and Quinn together. You could see their attraction right form the beginning and I will say the ending of this book was more than worth the ride.

The book opens with Quinn McManus rescuing Elisabeth Shields, they both work for Cobra security and the mission was not going as planned. Once back at the home base in Colorado Quinn receives word that his best friend Jack who was in the British Special Air Service has been killed. Leaving to go to Scotland he soon discovers that what the police are saying about his friend’s death cannot be true. Promising his widow, he begins to look into it.
Elisabeth who was once a C.I.A. analyst and is the team’s computer person shows up in Scotland to help Quinn. Together she hopes they can find the truth. She also knows that she has feelings for the big lug as well. While working through the case she also finds out about Quinn’s background. Together find they explore each other’s front and backside when not working the case. Hoping to find the truth for his friend and both wondering what they are going to do about the no dating policy with the company that they work for.
A very good book with good characters, full of action and with twist and turns to keep you the reader wondering what will happen next. An excellent story.

I must say, I first picked to review this book because the blurb hooked me - I did not expect to love it as much as I did! Quinn and Elizabeth's forbidden romance is just too good to pass up, I loved how their relationship played out alongside a really good plot rather than the romance carrying the entire plot.

I had been waiting for this for ages and it didn't disappoint. Read this book in a day as I couldn’t put it down. Brilliant story, well written and being set in Scotland was an added bonus for me as I’m English. It’s touching, romantic, sweet, suspenseful.! Another fantastic addition to the Cobra Elite series!! I’ve loved every Pamela Clare book I’ve read and this was no exception. Every word in this hard-hitting story deserved its place on my favourite series list. Go grab your copy today! Happy reading!!

Quinn has been attracted to Elizabeth for a long time, but the no fraternization policy at COBRA has his hands tied. Even though he knows he can't have her, when he is alone in Scotland and needing backup to help solve his friend's murder, Elizabeth is who he calls. Not about to leave Quinn to handle everything on his own, Elizabeth hops a plane. Together she and Quinn discover much more than one death to investigate. The job comes first despite their rapidly building chemistry... Or does it? Quinn is beginning to discover that Elizabeth might just be the most important thing in his life and the person he most needs to protect.

As with the other books in this series, this story moved at a fast pace and had plenty of action while also being intriguing and sexy.

I received an ARC from Net Galley for honest review.

Elizabeth and Quinn work together at Cobra. Cobra discourages any dating between employees. The attraction between them has always been strong. When Quinn finds out his best friend has been murdered, he asks Elizabeth for her help with the case. The two end up in a passionate love affair while trying to catch a killer. I love romantic suspense and this author doesn't disappoint.

I received a copy of this book via Netgalley and am leaving a review.

Really good friends/co-workers to lovers story. Elizabeth and Connor both work for Cobra International Security. They secretly have the hots for each other, but they will never act on it. Elizabeth, due to her previousl bad experience dating a co-worker and Connor as he thinks he's not good enough for Elizabeth. Oh, and it's also against company policy and neither want to jeopardize their job.

Connor's best friend is killed and Connor goes to Scotland to help solve the mystery. Elizabeth uses her vacation to help Connor.

The mystery around Jack's murder was good - good pace, good action, good resolution.

The chemistry between Elizabeth and Connor was evident and I liked the prologue to give the history of the characters to lend authenticity to their feelings.

Thanks to NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book.

Elizabeth Shields and Connor McManus are both operatives with Cobra International Solutions (CIS), a private security firm. Two years ago, Connor saved her life during a mission that went sideways and she’s never forgotten his bravery in that moment. He’s made no secret of his attraction to “Lilibet,” his pet name for her and both have kept their distance due to the company’s fraternization ban. When Connor is notified of his best friend’s murder in Glasgow, he takes leave to be with Jack Murray’s family and try to figure out what happened. Elizabeth is set to leave for vacation but realizes quickly that Connor needs her help and arrives in Scotland instead of the beach.

I’ve watched these two dance around their attraction since the inception of the series and was glad to see them finally deal with it. What I didn’t expect was to fall for these two, especially Elizabeth who was completely different from what I’d imagined her to be. She was daring, charming, über smart and playfully uninhibited in her relationship with Connor. I knew I liked him but after learning about his origins, growing up poor and rejected in the slums of Glasgow, I came to seriously admire him and how he developed into an honorable, loyal and courageous man. These two put some serious steam in this story but it was an essential part of their relationship and the story. It’s rare for me to say that but in this case, it defined the two in ways that words couldn’t.

The investigation into Jack’s murder was interesting, though I’d figured out the bare details pretty easily. However, that didn’t detract from the excitement or the pleasure of experiencing Elizabeth in action. I’m loving this series and I loved this romance. They were something special.
