Another fantastic book by Caz Finlay, which is a continuation from the boss, a really gripping, addictive read.

Thank you to the publisher for my eARC copy of this book. Unfortunately I didn’t love this book and therefore didn’t finish, I just didn’t connect with this one. Not for me, sorry.

This is the second instalment in the #Badblood series and was just as good as the 1st #The Boss

No spoilers but grace has moved away to raise her daughter, but things happen and she is back in that life.

This author is great at telling a story and kept me gripped from page 1

Great read would recommend

We're right slap back in the game, this is the second instalment in the Bad Blood quadrilogy and was equally as good as the first #TheBoss, it can be read as a standalone but my own personal preferrance is to read from the beginning, I like to read the background of the characters, it helps me understand their idiosyncrasies and just where they fit or don't.

After her antics in the last book (no spoilers here) Grace Sumner moved away to Harewood Leeds, wanting a quieter lifestyle for her baby daughter. Jake, Grace's son was running his dad Nathans night club The Blue Room in Liverpool but as is the way in that lifestyle word trickled back to her that Jake had been making more than a few enemies and was in serious danger. Finding no other option Grace has to slip back into her business persona, to do her utmost to fix it sooner rather than later to allow her to get back to Bella

I do actually like Grace, it's not a life she ever wanted but if she must be a boss she prefers to do business her that you find yourself siding with the villan but Grace has this way about her, .
plethora of characters gritty violent lifestyle although there are parts with an element of violence but I didn't find it to be written in a gratuitous fashion.

Caz Finlay is definitely one to watch out for in my opinion is she's a upcomning author and we should keep an eye on her. if you read authors like Anna Smith, Kimberly Chambers and Emma Tallon then you''ll enjoy her books begin with #TheBoss to get maximum enjoyment.

Read for an honest review. Thank you Ms Finlay, @Netgalley and HarperCollins UK One More Chapter

Back in the Game is the second book in the Bad Blood series which has left me thinking why the hell didn't I read this book sooner! Yeah I am a little late to the party with book four out now. But I am so glad that I have finally read this book. It is absolutely fantastic.

Anyone that loves gangland will love this book; it is gritty, tense and fast paced. Once I started it I couldn't put it down and devoured it in one evening.

I love that it is set in Liverpool, makes a change to London gangland books

This book is full of twists and turns and OMG moments where I found myself screaming at my kindle.

I love Grace. She is a strong character and determined woman who has a heart and wants to do what's right for her family. You can really relate and connect with her. Nothing is ever simple and you can feel the emotion she goes through.

Back in the Game is a well written story which takes you on a roller coaster ride it is totally engrossing read. I can't wait to start the next one.

I cannot recommend this book enough. Fans of Kimberly Chambers will love it

4 1/2 "Like A Boss" Stars!!

It was so good to revisit Grace and be "Back in the Game"...

Grace returns to Liverpool after being alerted by a former business contact that her son, Jake may be in some trouble if left on his own. He's recently taken over running the family business. He's young and hasn't quite learned how to play "all the angles" yet. Grace has no choice but to leave her safe haven where she's been living with her daughter, Belle, and return to Liverpool and the life she left behind.

This is the second book in the series and I really enjoyed seeing the previous characters and "catching up." Sometimes, the subsequent books in a series fall short, but that definitely isn't the case here. I enjoyed Back in the Game every bit as much as The Boss. Caz Finlay reeled me in from page one and I barely came up for air until the last page. It was a satisfying read. You get some questions answered, see some people get "what they deserve," learn some new secrets and shed a few tears. This book delivers a well formed storyline that keeps the reader immersed. I look forward to the next one in the series!

Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with a Reader's Copy. I voluntarily chose to review it and the opinions contained within are my own.

Back in the game is a continuation of The boss , a book that i've really enjoyed and this one is up to my expectations as well.
I loved how the author has created Grace, our main heroine , she's strong and fearless, but also human and that motherly instinct will never leave her even if she run away from the past and the world she was brought up.
Same fast paced, twisted mysterious and thrilling story that i highly recommend for for the lovers of the genre.

She Back!!!!

Grace Sumner in the second installment of this grippy gangster series.....and this new book Back in the Game by Caz Finlay did not disappoint! I was hooked from the very few pages and before I knew it, it was time for me to get up!

Grace Sumner has left Liverpool's gangland scene and all she wants is a peaceful life, to bring up her young daughter Bella, watch her grow and be there for her, away from the crime, violence and killings that happened around her previously in Liverpool. All she wants to be is a good Mum to Bella. But, things are about to change when Grace is informed that her son Jake is in trouble. Jake is now running his dads, Nathan‘s old club and he's starting to make enemies. Grace is drawn back to Liverpool to keep him safe. Grace knows this is going to be hard as there are so many secrets that will come out of she is not careful.

This new book is full of twists and turn and will have you hooked just like the first book in this series called The Boss. However, don't worry this is a good stand alone book as well to read bit I do recommend you read the first book as well

I highly recommend this series and its a 5 star read.

Big Thank you to One More Chapter the publisher, NetGalley and Caz Finlay for my copy in exchange for an honest review.

Truly wanted to enjoy this book. Just felt that the characters were so wooden and flat that I had to put the book down.

I'm absolutely loving this series! This was just as good as the first book The Boss.

The story follows straight on from which we saw the feisty boss lady Grace up sticks and move away from Liverpool to have her baby, while she is happy enough living a quiet existence in the countryside one phonecall changes all that and she finds herself back in the thick of it doing what she does best!

Don't want to say too much about the plot , all I can say is you must read it! Literally can't wait to read the next book!

Wow, and wow once again. I love books that feature strong independent women, and this one delivers in spades. I love the way Grace tries to save her former husband, now her son's business while dealing with an ex-lover and raising her daughter. This was a brilliant read, and I can't wait for the next one in the series.

This is a gripping, gritty and gruesome gangland thriller set in England and although it’s the second in a series, is perfectly able to read alone. It’s the typical gangland family except that this one was run by a woman, Grace Sumner, who recently left the business to her son to run. Grace is settle into a quiet country life until Jake, her son ,needs her help and Grace reluctantly needs to go back to work to save her son, Jake and the family business. Bigger then life characters but not too stereotypical as you would see in a film. Hard to side with a gangland family but somehow, through the author Caz Findlay’s talented work, you do..

Another great read from Caz Finlay. Loved this book and it's fast paced storyline. Plenty of twists to keep the reader interested - I really didn't want it to end. Can't wait for the next one in the series.

I read the first book jn the series and loved it and this one didn't dissapppoint either . It started off with a bang fro the beginning and reminded me why I really enjoyed this author and her style of writing . It was gripping, fast paced and a real page Turner.. it had everything you want from a gangland thriller. It had love, violence, betrayals, torture, and plenty of action . Hopefully there will be another book in the series

I found there was an awful lot of characters and at times I found myself quite confused with who was related to who and who were gang members. Saying this it was a good story.

Grace Sumner is the main character who was once a gang boss until she decided to leave it all behind her and move to the village of Harewood in Leeds with her eight-month-old daughter Belle. Her son Jake took over the reins but word gets to her that all is not well and he is not coping. The blue rooms are the mainstay of the family business, but with her husband Nathan dead, there is no one to else to support her son so she returns.
Grace is a very strong character, but she carries a big secret.
This book was gritty and violent as you can imagine with it involving gangs.
Caz has really hit the point and it was a very enjoyable book, just fewer characters.

Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book. x

Somehow I had missed the first book, The Boss, so before I started this second book I picked up the first one so I knew the history as it would clearly be relevant to Back In The Game.

As it turned out, I found myself devouring both books in a matter of days because I simply couldn’t put them down.

Grace has moved away with her baby daughter, giving up control of her businesses after burning down her families pub. She just wants a quiet life and a safe place to bring up her baby girl.

Unfortunately, best laid plans rarely work out, and when she receives a call saying her son needs her help, Grace knows she has to return to her roots and help him.

By the time I was half way through this I was desperately looking for other books by Caz Finlay and immediately ordered the next book.

I highly recommend reading this series, with its fast paced story and exciting characters, this is definitely a page turner!!

Grace Sumner is back and it was worth the wait. Book one of this series I enjoyed last year, and I had a long wait to catch up with Grace and the Carter’s again. Luckily for me my wait won’t be so long next time, as book three of this fab series is due out in August. Grace had moved to the country to live a peaceful life with baby Belle, leaving son Jake running the Blue Rooms in Liverpool. After hearing from a good friend that Jake was struggling she’s back to quietly help him out hopefully without him realising. Unfortunately things don’t go quite to plan, and before long Grace is back in the thick of the business she tried to leave behind. Will Grace ever feel happy and safe again. This book has lots of twists and turns and Grace has to face some terrible heartache before there’s light at the end of tunnel for her. A great 5 star read and I’m looking forward to reading book 3 in August.

Even though I have yet to read the first book in this series, I jumped at the opportunity to read this one, Back in the Game.

Deciding to leave the City of Liverpool where she has collected many good and bad memories, Grace Sumner and her eight-month-old daughter, Belle are moving for a quieter life to the sleepy village of Harewood, Leeds. Jake, her son remains in Liverpool as he is currently managing his father's night club business - The Blue Rooms. When she hears that Jake is being harassed by local gangsters, Grace feels she must move back and keep her eye on events. But Jake appears to have made a few enemies since she left...

Back in the Game has bucket loads of excitement and a real sense of danger. With its gritty storyline and characters, the atmosphere is undeniably tense. There's plenty of action and the violence makes for rather a gruesome read at times, but the fantastic writing and huge amount of intrigue kept those pages turning. Grace is a feisty, strong female and I found myself often cheering her on. With drama aplenty, twists that bowled me over and a mind-boggling ending, this is a superb gangland thriller that you won't want to miss. I'm already looking forward to reading book #3 in the series, Head of the Firm!

I received a complimentary copy of this novel at my request from One More Chapter via NetGalley and this review is my unbiased opinion.
