I started this book and quickly lost interest. The open door romance isn't my reading preference. Thank you for allowing me to read it.

Realizing this is part of a series, I wish I would've read the first books to get a better character development for Sarah. The love triangle and story was well written however missing the first books affected my reading experience.

Thank you to NetGalley, Sandy Barker and One More Chapter for providing me with an ecopy of this publication which allows me to provide you with an unbiased review.

I definitely loved this holiday romance. Can't wait to travel again. I loved the plot and its characters! Will be looking to other books by this author in the future!

Whilst I loved the premise of this book, I couldn’t immerse myself in the story enough to really enjoy it. I found the writing quite dull and, at some points, overly simplistic. As a holiday read, it might work, as people are less inclined to want a heavy read and the settings definitely work with those holiday vibes. Sadly, it wasn’t for me.

A light hearted, summer read. I wish I had realised it was part 3 of a series! Made it a little hard for me to get in to. Enjoyable, if a little predictable.

A sunset in Sydney by Sandy Barker

After the trip of her life Sarah has a choice to make which man to choose?? Both very different and each one wants to take off. One an older multi millionaire, the other a young adventurer with a few commitment issues- oh who to choose.

Sandy Barker is a very descriptive writer with lovely characters. Although Sarah has a few annoying traits but her journeys both travel and personal are really enjoyable. Her sister and best friend are the most likeable in this story .

As Sandy Barker is a bit if a favourite I was a bit let down with the ending you have to wait to the bitter end to find out who she chooses and it just suddenly ends unlike the full details you receive throughout the book . 3.5/5

Nothing better than a good old love triangle to keep one hooked and reading in the sunshine! What a great idea Sandy Barker has come up with to split A SUNSET IN SYDNEY into three parts so, not only do the rather lovely Silver Fox and the younger James receive equal attention (hmmm!) but we're also transported off to fabulous destinations into the bargain. Sandy writes with such attention to detail that one is either left crying with frustration that one can't, at the moment, go to these beautifully described places oneself or, as in my case, simply sat in the garden while delightfully and cleverly whisked off to Hawaii and Sydney (one of my all time favourite places) in my head.
This is a fun, light summer novel, cleverly written and guaranteed to have you holding your breath to the very last page

Although this is the third in a series, it reads perfectly as a standalone. I do love when a book series can be read a little independently of each other.

I felt Sarah read as a little younger than the 37 she was portrayed as.

Sometimes as well I felt the book could be shortened a little with little to no negative impact.

I love a love triangle and this was done really well here. I was ultimately pretty happy with the outcome, though I didn't love both guys equally at different points of the novel.

Great escapism when we're stuck indoors.

I'm going to say it right off the bat - Sarah is far too hard on herself when it comes to age, especially her age in relation to her partners. The level of insecurity is almost obsessive and screws with her head and the way she interacts with both men. Oh my god I am too old, oh my god I am too young. Seriously, just let yourself have some fun without making it all about birth certificates, generation gaps and expectations of youth or maturity.

Sarah is finding herself again after quite some disappointment. Her love life or budding relationships have become slightly complicated in a sense that she finds herself drawn to two men. Josh, who lets her be herself without any thought of restrictions. Freedom and being carefree, enjoying the small moments in life. Being with James is more about appreciating the finer things in life and there is an expectation of behaviour, of adulthood and of a certain lifestyle.

It's all about finding the path that is right for you when it comes to love. Money, lifestyle, freedom and choice - what is more important to Sarah, a woman torn between two different experiences of love.

I have to be honest, I found Sarah quite selfish as a character. There didn't seem to be any consideration for either man - it was all about her all the time. Don't get me wrong. Have your cake and eat it, as much cake as you want, but be aware of the cake you are devouring.

I enjoyed the way Barker gave her main character the freedom to experience without the limitations of society, family or friends. No judgement, which often goes hand in hand with female characters. It's very much a story of new beginnings and self-discovery.

This was a fun time! I loved the Australian setting and the whole sort of insight to what it's like there. I really enjoyed Sarah, our main character. She was a joy to read about, and probably the best part of the book. I wasn't too keen on the romance options she had, though. They weren't bad, but I just didn't click with either Josh or James, which left the book ultimately feeling a little lackluster. It was fun to read, but it didn't hit me the way I wanted it to.

Sarah Parsons has a choice ahead of her. After the trip of a lifetime she’s somehow returned home with TWO handsome men wanting to whisk her away into the sunset.

Pulled in two directions across the globe, it’s making life trickier than it sounds. Her gorgeous American Josh, wants to meet Sarah in Hawaii for a holiday to remember. Meanwhile silver fox James plans to wine and dine her in London.

This is the third book in the Holiday Romance series by Sandy Barker. I have read all three books, and I feel that it is important to read the others in the series prior to reading this book so that you have all of the back story on our main character, Sarah, and her love triangle. While I have loved traveling the world with this series, I'm a bit annoyed with the main character, and the lack of her decision to pick a love interest in this book. And while the book title suggests that the setting takes place in Sydney, most of the story seems to take place in Hawaii. I didn't mind reading about Hawaii, I just felt like the title was a little misleading. I will continue to read this series if more are written, as I have loved Sandy Barker's writing and traveling the world with the characters. I just hope that Sarah is able to choose a guy and move on with her life.

I hadn't realized this book was the 3rd book in a series - but I needn't have worried, the author did a great job summarizing the previous book(s) and gave me enough background. The book itself was not bad - I really liked the sister, Cat, and the friend Lindsey - they seemed awesomely honest. I think the will they won't they just dragged a bit toooo much. I mean she literally chooses the guy (no spoilers) in the last 10 pages. But I like how she came to the choice. I loved all the Sydney "scenes" - having lived in Sydney myself, I squeeled a bit during those sections and although this felt like a very drawn out book, I did enjoy it. A well written book overall!

Unfortunately I didn't realize from the start that this book is a part of a series, of course you can still read it as standalone but I'm pretty sure that if you had read the previous books from the series it would be much better. Still I must say that I enjoy the book very much, sometimes you need this lovely light summer reading just to chill out and relax and this one is with exactly this.
Thank you Netgalley 🤗

I loved reading this, because I was looking for a book to read that would allow me to travel to actually travel, and travel I did wit hthis holiday romance. London, Sydney, Hawaii, and New Zealand in a compelling story that follows a woman who's got herself in a bit of a tiny problem, well, two in the form of a silver fox who will treat her to a life of luxury and a young adventurer who doesn't know how to on her travels to find herself. Talk about one crazy, feels induced love triangle; but besides that, you'll find beautiful friendships. You could feel what Sarah had to go through and as I'm writing this I'm just now discovering that this is the third book in the series. Ooops!
So are you Team Josh or Team James?

I’ll admit that this was a case of “ I love the cover so need to read this “ ! I haven’t read the previous 2 in the series but I wanted to read this as I love Sydney and I love travelling so sounded just what I needed . It’s a typical chick lit book, no epic page turner but a nice read all the same . I loved getting lost in Sarah’s travels and it was the perfect summer read . I didnt feel I had missed out by not reading the previous ones . Reads a bit like a YA but still enjoyable .

I haven't read the first part in this 'Holiday Romance Series', but the second about Sarah's sister Cat travelling through Europe. Sarah and her Greek sailing trip is mentioned there, and she recaps enough of the key points in this book so that you don't actually have to read 'One summer in Santorini'. Although it might let you become more familiar with the three main characters in this book.

I have to admit that I didn't feel really 'close' to Sarah, because her on-going indecisiveness - even after meeting both guys again - was getting on my nerves a bit. Also, the writing style was very very detailled. And I mean very. Sandy Barker mentions every little thing. The bottle of wine is not only put back in the fridge but in the door of the fridge. And when Sarah eats a muesli bar, Barker also mentions that Sarah crumples up the wrapping paper and tucks it back into her pocket, and then takes a swig of water. Every product she uses when putting on some make-up is mentioned, as well as every brand of wine they are drinking. And there is a lot of alcohol in this book, massive!

What I did enjoy were the 'tour guide' parts of the book. This time Sandy Barker takes us to Hawaii and New Zealand, and both destinations sound really wonderful.
