Dro is the King all the brothers call on when they have extra-ordinary complications. His company, Vantage Point, provides specialized services that put Dro in touch with Lola, a PR expert whose job is to tidy up the image of a spoiled bad boy. But Dro’s appointment to the Board of Directors at The Castle is a complication that affects both their lives and extends to Dro’s family, and for him, family is everything.

The intrigue and danger factor are off the charts in this novel. Skullduggery and mayhem which include blackmail and kidnapping make this a fast and compelling read. The chemistry between Dro and Lola, the relationship with his brothers, the hi-octane action, plus the satisfying outcome, make King of Hyde Park an interesting and satisfying read.

ok dude I have been reading these books at the wrong sequence but again these books are considered standalones, I definitely liked this one better and again this is a new author for me, but I liked her. Whew I like men like Dro an alpha and who is known for Fixing this which is why he is known as “The Fixer” , and now something that he was truly not ready for, love. However it comes to him in the form of Lola, and even though he was not ready he will keep her safe at all costs, and while he does that pesky thing called love knocks at his door....

King of Hyde Park by bestselling author, Lisa Watson, is book eight of the nine book Kings of the Castle series by various female authors. Book one, Kings of the Castle, is an introduction to all of the Kings, with emphasis on Vikkas Germaine. Books two through nine are standalones with no cliffhangers and can be read in any order, though I’m reading them in sequence.

Nine former students of Khalil Germaine, now Kings of The Castle, are recruited by their mentor to root out and eliminate the corruption that has infiltrated The Castle, initially a humanitarian endeavor. They vow to protect The Castle and each other from future attacks, while searching for the person or persons responsible for the attempted assassination of their mentor, Khalil, and his son, Vikkas. Along the way they meet some extraordinary women. This is Alejandro "Dro" Reyes’ story.

Victor Alejandro “Dro” Reyes, King of Hyde Park, is known as a “Fixer”, someone who discreetly cleans up and handles situations for high profile people, repairing professional reputations. He owns a crisis management company, Vantage Point. Dro has been contracted, though reluctantly, to clean up the bad boy image of Shawn Mayhew, son of Alistair Mayhew.

Lola Samuels is the Director of Public Relations for Alistair Mayhew. Mr. Mayhew tasks Lola with working alongside Alejandro to restore his son’s reputation. Lola finds herself ridiculously attracted to Dro and he is equally attracted to her. Initially they are wary of each other but soon establish a relationship.

King of Hyde Park is the next success in the Kings of the Castle series. The main characters, Dro and Lola, are completely believable and are suitable residents in the world of The Castle. Dro’s calm, measured manner is the perfect counterpart to Lola’s more carefree personality. The story is wonderfully cohesive and maintains the amazing continuity of the series. The ending is sublime. This is a story about love, betrayal and the determination of the human spirit. I’ve read each of the previous seven books and each was a 5 star read and this one is as good as the others, so I rate it 5 out of 5 stars as well. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys multicultural romantic suspense or well-written contemporary romance.

My thanks to Independent Publishers Group and NetGalley for the opportunity to read an advance copy of this book. However, the opinions expressed in this review are 100% mine and mine alone.

Readers of my blog will know that I have been enjoying the Kings of the Castle series as I find this brotherhood and the main characters genuinely nice guys despite their dangerous backgrounds. King of Hyde Park takes us into Dro aka Alejandro's life. Alejandro was given the role of King of Hyde Park from Khali and his specialty is fixing everything. He is the "fixer" of the group and the go-to for getting people out of crazy jams. He is also fiercely loyal to his family including his crazy uncle Santiago - though he will do the favor for his mother this is the last time as things are getting more and more dangerous as he finds himself in bed with the enemy. Our female character is Lola, she is a bit like the female version of Dro but her specialty is more the PR side of things. Lola works for Alastair Mayhew who has a long-standing grudge with Dro's father and family. Dro is hired to do a favor for Alastair and help Lola clean up his son Shaun's image as it is starting to reflect badly on the Mayhew family name. King of Hyde Park follows not only the storyline of Lola and Dro's budding romance but also as Dro and his team dig deeper into Mayhew - it seems that he may have indirectly been involved with the attempted murder of his mentor Khali - a guy that was a second father to Dro and the rest of the new Kings of the Castle. I have to admit though Dro is probably the hottest one so far out of the models used for King of the Castles story, his story wasn't one of my favorites but still enjoyable and I am looking forward to reading the remaining members of the Kings of the Castle series.

This series keeps on getting better and better. I did not think that Dro would be one of my favorite Kings but he ended up being up there on my favorite after reading this story. The way he cares about not only Lola but his family really shines through this story. Also it keeps on amazing me about how all of these books tie together in the main story line but also can stand on their own. The romance did seem a little rushed but it was also not the focal point of the book. I would have also liked to know more about the rescue mission to free Lola instead of just having her reappear at Dro's house but I think that would have added quite a few more pages to the story.

Thank you to netgalley, Macro Publishing and Lisa Watson for allowing me to read this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This author is new to me and this my first time reading her books.
Alejandro "Dro" Reyes aka The Fixer public relations crisis fixer. Dro loves his work and often finds himself in some very dangerous situations barely escaping.
Dro has been asked by Lola Samuels who is in public relations to help in fixing the relationship of bad boy Shawn Mayhew. Dro decides to help Lola and in the process he gets close to Lola to find information on Lola's boss to get information on who is behind the attempted murder of his mentor Khalil Germaine and his son Vikkas. While Dro is gather this information he is falling more and more for Lola and has second thoughts about using her.

Dro often finds himself in positions that can and could get him killed but he always has a ace in the hole with the aid of fellow King brothers Reno and Jai whom I would call the triple threat. Those are some bad guys I would surely call on him them when I need help.
Dro and Lola work together to try and fix Shawn's reputation. There is such an attraction between Dro and Lola.
As in the previous books there is always someone after Khalil's Kings because they do not want to relinquish their positions at the Castle which hold great power but they have to go and under great duress they do not go away easily.
Dro is on one of his assignments and as always he escapes but this time he ends up at Lola's house after being shot and doesn't want to go to the hospital and Lola nurses him back to health and their feelings for each other continue to get stronger and stronger.
This book is action packed with mystery, murder, romance and just getting closer and closer to who is behind the attempted murder of Khalil mentor to the nine kings.

Now on book # 9.

King of Hyde Park delves into the business and personal life of Victor Alejandro Reyes. A compelling and passionate tale of the "fixer" of the kings, who finds love unexpectedly while looking for the person who tried to kill his mentor and brother.
This was a fast pace and entertaining installment and a great addition in the Kings of the Castle series.

Dro is a stubborn, passionate workaholic who loves his family, and never really considered falling in actual love with a woman until Lola walked into his life. They really are a match made in heaven, if they don’t end up in heaven before they actually become a match. Dro is a fixer and doesn’t sit till, often finding himself in the literal line of Fire. This is how he ends up on Lola’s doorstep. End story. Except not. This book is packed with action, danger, love and passion. It’s a fast and exciting read and it will make you wish you were part of the Reyes family. You will enjoy!

Though this is a stand-alone, I highly recommend starting with Kings of the Castle and reading each Kings story in order. I read them all out order. They are so expertly crafted and flow so well between each of the books, it’s hard to tell each is crafted by a different author. Very well done!

3.75 stars--KING OF HYDE PARK by Lisa Watson is the eighth instalment in the multi-authored/ multi-cultural KINGS OF THE CASTLE romantic, suspense series focusing on nine ‘brothers’ from the streets of Chicago (Vikkas, Reno, Shaz, Jai, Daron, Kaleb, Grant, Dro and Dwayne) mentored and taught by the mysterious Khalil Germaine at the exclusive Macro International Magnet School in Chicago. This is fixer Alejandro ‘Dro’ Reyes, and PR agent Lola Samuels’ story line. KING OF HYDE PARK can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty but I recommend reading KINGS OF THE CASTLE (Book one) for backstory and history.

Told from several third person perspectives including Dro and Lola KING OF HYDE PARK continues to focus on the threats against the Kings of the Castle. Alejandro ‘Dro’ Reyes is a fixer, and is desperate to uncover the people behind the attack on his mentor Khalil Germaine, an attack that recalled Dro and his ‘brothers’ back home. Hoping to get closer to Lewis Wingate and Alistair Mayhew, current and former members of the Castle, Dro begins a slow seduction of Alistair’s PA Lola Samuels, only to find himself quickly falling for the woman herself. What ensues is the building relationship and romance between Dro and Lola, and the potential fall-out as Lola becomes collateral damage in the war between The Castle, and its’ former members.

The relationship between Lola and Dro is a rapid building affair of insta-lust to love. Dro knows immediately that Lola is the woman that calls to his heart but Lola struggles in the face of potential betrayal knowing Dro was using her to get close to the Mayhew clan.

KING OF HYDE PARK is a story of family, friendship, betrayal and control. Once again, several of the Kings of the Castle play secondary and supporting roles including Daron, Jai, Grant and Shaz; Khalil and Vikkas Germaine; Grayson and Travers. We are introduced to Dro’s blood family including brother Esteban and Raul, as well as their parents Victor and Valentina Reyes, and uncle Santiago; Lola’s mother Maggie; Alistair Mayhew and his son Shawn; and security specialist Alexa King.

KING OF HYDE PARK is another fast paced and entertaining instalment in the Kings of the Castle series. The premise is engaging and captivating; the romance is passionate; the characters are numerous and dynamic.

Alejandro “Dro” Reyes, by far, is the smooth, charming badass of the Kings. His a “fixer” who is always there for everyone else, but this time, he lands himself in situations where he is the one who needs fixing. I love, love, love, how the Kings are there for him. Equally love the feisty, stubborn woman who unexpectedly holds his interest. My favorite part is when his mentor, Khalil Germaine, speaks with him about his dark past and guides him into a less deadly future. Lisa Watson is a Harlequin author and her love of romantic suspense comes through loud in clear in this clever, fast-paced and engaging book.

Lisa Watson you have done well with this one .Love For and Lola. First off I want to strangle Lola for been so stubborn. Dro puts his all in everything he does to the point his fellow Kings had to put him to rest before it was too late. I must say all these books tied into each other so well.
