I really enjoyed this story. The blend of mystery, magic, and multiverse travel made it a compelling read from start to finish. Salim is a fascinating lead—gritty, haunted, but sharp—and watching him navigate a case that crosses between life, death, and everything in between was a lot of fun. The dynamic between Salim and Neila added some great tension and energy to the investigation without overwhelming the plot. I also liked how the book expanded into the Outer Planes, with all the strange and imaginative settings that came with it. Overall, a strong, atmospheric fantasy mystery that kept me hooked.
