I found this to be an informative book and I learned new information. I recommend this book for those looking for more information on investing.

First off this book is aimed at the American market as it explains retirement plans such as a 401K, though I'm sure some of the principles can be taken on world wide such as dropping the cable package, stopping your gym membership as a way to release money to invest.

It explains what an Index fund is, and provides 3 reasons to invest, 3 advantages and 2 disadvantages. It gives a reason for not investing all your money into one stock at once, but rather do it in intervals. Makes sense!

It has some useful descriptions on portfolios and their asset allocation, the different types of index funds, mutual funds, exchange-funded funds. It's a short book and I'm not sure it lives up to it's subtitle of 'How to Build Wealth, Achieve Financial Freedom, and Outperform Most Amateur and Professional Investors Without Really Trying'

I received this book from Netgalley in return for honest review.

Common-sense and convincing arguments for investing in index funds for financial freedom. This book is clear, concise and well-written. Good for novice investors.

This book was very easy to read, useful information for any young person who would like to build a nest.
As for myself, it was very general without broad information about possibility, unless you would leap and learn more.
This is for sure a book for US reader.
What I dislike about this book was what you should do to have spare money for investment where lastly was to get a second job.

It is a small account about index funds and how they are better for a risk averse investor.
It is written in simple, layman's language.
I found its information graspable and interesting.
It is a short read.
First half has few tips about saving money. But some of these advice are extreme and expect one to lead minimilastic lifestyle.
I got decent knowledge about index funds.
I liked lack of repetition in the book quite refreshing.
It is about index funds. Very little information about Mutual funds. At a lot of plaves Vanguard fund is featured in book.
Definitely a book to read if you have been frightened by big books like intelligent investor.
Thanks netgalley and publisher for review copy.

A lot of great information here, in a quick, informative read. It's a topic I know very little about, but was never left feeling lost or overly confused. I will absolutely be looking into adding this to our collection during our next catalog review.

Common Sense Investing With Index Funds
How to Build Wealth, Achieve Financial Freedom, and Outperform Most Amateur and Professional Investors Without Really Trying!

This was actually a fairly quick read. But don’t let that fool you, the book covers why index funds are a good thing and how they compare to mutual funds. The book provides a lot of useful info for the investing beginner. As the book says, it can be a fairly set and forget strategy and has a low cost base as there are very few actual trades going on in the fund. The author talks a lot about vanguard which would be a useful jumping off point for investors to start.

Overall, a good quick read.
