Well written and well developed. Captivating from the start.
A mix of romance and suspense. Not boring.

Beautiful cover as well!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC of this book. This is my honest review. All opinions are my own.

This romance novel annoyed me. I couldn't finish it and I am sorry, but it didn't work for me. It's not that it didn't get my interest as much as I thought the focus was just wrong. Maybe it is because I am a parent, I don't know.

Rosemoor's romance novel is decently written, although it could do with more editing, but I suppose that's true of most books. My problem with the story, or at least the part I read, was that at least 75% of the characters' thoughts were in their relationship.

Now, you might say I am a bit harsh, it's a romance novel, after all. And you're right. It's romance, it's a story about two characters coming together as a couple, overcoming their issues in the process.

My problem is that there is the life of a teenage girl on the line, not a trope of romance writing. In that situation, I'd like to think that the vast majority of the investigator's thoughts, if not all, are in saving her life. Not that they seemed to slack off in their responsibilities, but, while Camille was remembering Drago's hard abs, all I could think about was what was happening to that poor girl.

Camille, as a character, also seemed unconvincing in her beliefs, having a fit because they hire the services of a hacker to get the job done. By the book cops, I think, don't make good main characters. It's also not realistic. Cops make all sort of deals to get bigger fish behind bars with all sort of people. I feel that hiring a hacker to track down a serial rapist and killer might be a very small inconvenience.

Now, I am sure it will have its public, but the subject, for me, was badly chosen. I simply couldn't go ahead. It also goes to show that there is a conversation to be had about how crossing genres can be done better, especially in romance, I suppose. I'm not saying this shouldn't be done at all, I'm just saying, in this case, it's not for me and, if you are particularly sensitive to the fate of children and minors like I am, it might not be for you either.

I read this ARC for an honest review
All thoughts and opinions are mine

I'm fairly new to this author and have read about 4 of her books so far. This is normally not my genre at all but I absolutely love both author and books

Loved the characters and story - a great thriller / mystery with romance thrown in - I have to read these all in one go - I just can't put them down once I start

I enjoy this author and this book doesn't disappoint. Perfect for readers looking for romantic suspense with action, drama, and intensity. I enjoyed the slow burning chemistry between Camille and Drago. The killer was an intriguing character. I look forward to more.

This author seems to draw me in right away every time I see one of her books. Camille will take you on her trip of obsession. She is after a killer so intrigue will be pulling you forward. Her obsession will lead her down a heavy road that she can not do this by herself. You then get Drago in the picture and things really heat up in different ways. He finds he now has a obsession. We readers will find we do too in having to get the answers and see where this goes.

Obsession by Patricia Rosemoor

Fast paced easy to read romantic suspense with a second chance for Camille and Drago to get it right. This story includes abduction, murder, abuse, steamy moments and more as Camille and Drago work together to find Sandy – a 14 year old kidnapping victim. I had trouble seeing the connection between the two main characters. After a hot weekend together and nothing for four years they fell back in with one another very easily. I lso had trouble seeing Camille as a “good” detective in the ways she was portrayed in the story. The story was okay and a quick easy read but I felt there was either backstory I was missing or perhaps this is part of a series that might provide more information had I read it already.

Did I enjoy this book? It was okay
Would I read more by this author? If the description intrigued me I might

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC – This is my honest review.

This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.

I usually love books by this author but this one took me a long time to really get into it. There was quite a bit of drama that kept my attention and interest but the romance between Drago and Camille was slow to start even after their past encounter.!

I think part of what I didn't like was that we had to wait so long into the book to find out more about Drago's prison time and the why. Since I like to have answers, it was frustrating for me to keep waiting and the fact that Camille never asked "why" or even seemed to want more information about the history behind it. We even learn that there was a very good reason that Drago's brother left him in jail and didn't bail him out

I did like that at the end, Camille didn't let Drago hid away and went after him! I hope that we see more with these characters as we didn't see much of Drago's brother, Justus, or the new employee, Eva.

This was an okay romantic suspense, but not a great romantic suspense. The storyline kept me interested but I didn't connect with Camille and Drago like I wanted to -- the chemistry wasn't there, but that's just my opinion! Overall, the plot was good and this is a quick and easy read. I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC for NetGalley.

Camille Martell, homicide detective, has been relieved of her duties on a particular case. She has become obsessed with locating a sexual predator who has killed several women .. and this her superiors suspended her when she began an off-the-books investigation.. literally going rogue.

It becomes very personal when the 14-year-old girl who watches Camille's dog when she's working, is taken by the very man she has been tracking. Camille is filled with regret that the girl's life is in danger because of her.

Camille goes for help, in the form of a man she has a history with..... Drago Nance is now a private investigator, a man who has spend time in prison. Several years ago they had a fling, but that was before Nancy became a jailbird.

Neither of them have forgotten, but the need to stop the predator far outweighs their attraction to each other.

This is well written, with lots of action. The characters are likeable and I enjoyed the back and forth between them.

There are many graphically described intimate moments with possible triggers of rape and trauma.

Many thanks to the author / Dangerous Love Publishing / Netgalley for the digital copy of this Romantic Suspense. Read and reviewed voluntarily, opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.

Thanks to the publisher for an ARC to read and give my honest opinion.

Beautiful cover, by the way....and definitely an eye catcher. Detective Camille is after a killer, an online chat room is hunting grounds for a serial murderer who names himself Angel. After a mistake on Camilles part an innocent is taken by the killer, and Camille puts all her effort into solving the case.

What did I like? Drago and Camille have some intense chemistry, and seemingly a sordid history. It all boils down to how far Camille will go to right the wrongs of the chaos that Angel causes. The story was well written and loved the karma ending!

Would I recommend or buy? Oh, yea. This wasn’t a hard read, and quite enjoyable. I really enjoyed Camille, and Drago was spot on. He was caught up in the magic of Camille and I can’t say I blame him.

Thoughts for the author? Great story! I enjoyed it! Does Justus get a book? Would read from you again!

Though the premise of this book was fantastic, I had a little trouble with the execution. The story doesn't flow smoothly or transition well. The book kept me interested because I still needed to know how it was going to end.
The characters by themselves were intriguing, but I wasn't able to see the chemistry the author was attempting. Drago's backstory was a bit unclear in areas but his story was the most interesting. Camille just didn't interest me beyond her working with Drago. The killer, Angel, was the winner in best created character in this book. He was intriguing and mysterious. I liked not knowing much at all about him until near the ending.

This was my first book by this author and she has a great imagination. I look forward to see how she does in other books.

This was a suspenseful, wildly romantic ride as two people, a hard-nosed cop and an ex-con turned private investigator, join together to take down a serial killer. On the way, they find a second chance at true love. I loved the author's intensity and the way she crafted her dastardly characters. I would recommend it to anyone who loves romantic mysteries. I received an advanced reader's copy from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

3 1/2 Star Review....

Obsession is another example of Patricia Rosemoor’s talent for creating suspense and intrigue, while incorporating a complex romantic element with some angst and drama along the way. On occasion I felt that the chemistry between Camille and Drago lacked substance, but overall the storyline was good and it was an easy and enjoyable read.

This one wasn't for me. I usually really enjoy romantic suspense novels, but this one missed on both fronts. I couldn't connect with either of the main characters and the chemistry between them just wasn't there. Unfortunately, the suspense element failed as well. The plot for this was just unbelievable. The heroine was running around and finding out things that the police couldn't figure out, for no apparent reason whatsoever. The idea that she and the hero were the only ones who knew to look into this kind of thing just didn't make sense. It went downhill from there.
I received a complimentary copy of this book through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
