I absolutely adored the setting and story of this book. I now yearn to travel to Norway to experience the people, food and culture.

From Jack and Ninni’s first encounter I was hooked. Ninni is a no nonsense kind of woman just out of a bad break-up and doesn’t take well to the new Englishman, Jack, in town. Jack is an out of place chef who has just inherited land on the island.

This is a perfect book to read when you are looking for something light, romantic and want to get away from the everyday hustle and bustle of life.

I want to thank NetGalley, the author and publisher for the e-ARC of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are honest, my own and left voluntarily.

Absolutely charming! A delightful romantic escape to a small island off the coast of Norway. Likable characters, strong sense of place, and a gentle romance makes this an enjoyable read.
Thanks to netgalley/author/publisher for an advance copy. Highly recommended.

“Summer Island” was a sweet romance about following your heart. A perfect book for a lazy summer weekend. Well written and it gave a glimpse into life on the islands of Norway.

Thank you to netgalley for an advanced copy of this book.

I loved how this took place in Norway. When I saw that, I immediately wanted to read it.

Jack Greene is a chef from London whose in Norway after finding out he inherited land. He meets his neighbor, Ninni, who has arrived on the island for the summer after a bad break up. Throughout the book, she shows him around all the local areas and they start getting closer. That is until a surprise she never expected happens. Will Jack end up back in London following his career?

This book was so cute! I loved how at first Ninni was totally not interested in Jack, and how everyone in the town wanted to get to know “the Englishman”. Ninni shows Jack all around, and I loved the aspect of him being a new guy in town. It was kind of a slow burn romance as well as airy and light. I can’t wait to check out other books by Natalie Normann!

Absolutely loved this story, the gorgeous setting and the wonderful Frikk. Ninni was a great character who guided Jack through his first experience of Norway until he too fell in love with the place. The island seemed like a wonderful place to live and helped develop an interest in Norwegian culture and food that I’m keen to experience for myself sometime soon. The story itself is an easy read but makes you think about what truly makes a family and how sometimes you just need to stop and change direction in life. Overall, a great read but makes sure you have some time to spare - you’ll not want to put it down till you’ve finished!

This sweet romance was the perfect escape during this globally stressful time. The story was predictable but enjoyable and the cast of characters was delightful.

A charming read set on a Norwegian island. The unique setting was really lovely and a breath of fresh air. The character's lives were interesting and I liked the concept of Jack returning to a place where he could have grown up and lived a completely different life. Also, love a dog in a story! This was summery, light and fun.
