This was an enjoyable book to read. There was a good storyline, interesting characters and a happy ending. There was enough turns and twists in the story so it was not boring. Ido recommend that you read this book.

I generally love this genre. Historical fiction is a favorite for me. It was hard for me to give such a low rating for a book, but unfortunately this was a book that didn’t manage to pull me in from the beginning to the very last paragraph. It was written from a third person perspective with quotes for each character. It read like a narration with very little true depth to capture my imagination. The characters did not feel well developed. I didn’t feel a connection with any of them. The author would make statements like “Sarah looked at Mark with new understanding”, yet Mark offered nothing leading up to this statement that required understanding. The statement made no sense at this juncture. This was not far into the book. I read through the end hoping it would improve. Much of the conversations felt like rambling with no real depth. This was just a disappointing book for me that took great effort to complete.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from The Wild Rose Press, Inc through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
