This was one was really slow and i felt like i kept waiting for something to happen. I ended up skimming to get to the end.

This book was SO SO good! It is twisty and thrilling, and continuously picks up as it goes. I can say that I did not see the ending coming, although I thought I had figured it out a few times. I definitely recommend!

Another great thriller from Megan Miranda. I'm a sucker for a "where are they now" story, and this one allows us to catch up with "the girl who survived" a tragic incident from her child hood. This reminded me very much of the girl who was stuck in the well from my own childhood. This one kept me guessing, never lost steam, and had a surprising, yet satisfying ending!

This was my fourth Megan Miranda book to read, and I would say it wasn’t my favorite, but it wasn’t my least favorite either. The story was about a little girl who famously went missing during a huge rainstorm and was gone for 3 days. The story picks up with her 20 years later as an adult, with flashbacks to the incident periodically. I was interested in the story, but not very invested. We saw her struggle during adulthood to be someone other than The Girl From Widow Hills. The mom, who used the incident to write and sell a gripping true story, really didn’t play as big a part as I expected. The twists weren’t very twisty, but the mystery was good. I will definitely read more by Ms. Miranda.

Megan Miranda has written a story here that will leave you breathless. It grabs you and just doesn't let up until the very ending. Surprises at every turn.

I was the GIRL WHO survived.
A child, Arden, endured the worse thing any child should have to. She went missing one night and was not found for three days. What she went through was simply horrific.

Olivia, now a grown woman of 26, use to be the child of 6 Arden. So much publicity about what happened to her forced her to move away and change her name. All she wants is a peaceful quite life. To live and be happy. She works hard and has a few friends that she trusts. The problem Olivia has is always needing an escape route. No matter where she is she needs to know she can get out if she needs too. She's started sleepwalking again, something she hasn't done since she was a child. One horrific night she wakes up outside and there's a dead body next to her. That is the start of the end for Olivia. She has to figure out who was murder and why. Who committed this murder and why. Was it her or someone from her past.

This book is so full of ups and downs that you will not want to put it down. It has twists and turns and many surprises to keep your interest. It's well written and makes you feel like you are there with Olivia. From inside her house to running through the woods. From her job to going back to face her past. The characters in this book are so well liked and so richly developed. Olivia has some very good friends who look out for her and are there for her no matter what. Though they don't know about her past or who she really is they will do almost anything for her. When the past is exposed they don't desert her either. That is true friendship.

One horrific night starts a chain reaction that gets worse before it attempts to get better. Things from Olivia's past start to come to light. People from her past appear. Some you may not expect to hear from and certainly won't expect what they do. Olivia is a survivor for sure. She fights to get her life back. She finds out what really happened. All the memories that she lost. She wants to be free from her past.

This is one of the best books by this author. One you don't want to miss. A real thriller with many levels. Told from the past and the present it is truly one you will love.

Thank you to #NetGalley, #MeganMiranda, #Simon&Schuster for this ARC. I was in no way compensated for this review. This is my own thoughts and feelings.

5/5 stars and a high recommendation. A must read.

The Girl from Widow Hills starts off a bit slow but picks up about halfway through. This is the story about a girl that is swept away sleep walking one night. She is found but can't piece together what has happened. Fast forward 20 years and Arden, now Olivia, has tired to move on with her life. She has moved away and changed her name in hopes that the story from her past will stay away. Now though Olivia has started sleep walking again and this strange man has showed up that has connections to the past. What will happen to Olivia will she be forced to relive her past or has she really managed to escape.

I don't want to say too much more and give away the ending. Overall I thought the books was ok, it was a bit of a slow burn and I wish there was a little more to the plot.

A sleep walking girl goes missing. Of course the media goes wild. Conspiracy theorists and ametuer sleuths are all over what could have happened. By a miracle she is found only 3 day later. But the media won't let it go. They want to know exactly what happened and what is up with her savior.. does he know more than hes letting on?

20 years later she changed her name is living a quiet life. her sleep walking days are behind her.. until she finds herself in a storm in her front yard. the anniversary over her first disappearance is near.. could this be related?

i really like this fast read and recommend it for a stormy night at home.

Megan Miranda is one of my auto-buy authors so when I was approved for this I was so excited. I love books that keep you guessing and Megan's books always do that for me. Can't wait to see what she comes up with next!

An interesting read, but not a book that will keep you up late at night because you cannot put it down. A young girl sleep walks into the night during a storm and remains missing for several days until a man finds her holding on to a storm drain. The story seems suspect, but the entire town went with it. Now the little girl has grown up and changed her name. The last starts to creep back into her life and Arden/Olivia fears she might be in danger. Sometimes the truth can hurt you, while other times it can set you free.

Thank you to @netgalley and @simonandschuster for my ARC in exchange for an honest review. I also bought a finished copy for myself.

At six years old, Arden was swept away in a terrifying storm, while sleepwalking. It took days before she was found clinging to a storm drain and called a living miracle. Fame followed her fairly quickly after that. After turning eighteen though, Arden changed her name to Olivia and left the public eye. She built a life thinking she was finally free from it all. However, one night she wakes up outside to find a dead body at her feet. Olivia realizes she is sleepwalking again and has no idea how this man died. Did she kill him? Is he someone from her past? Can Olivia handle the truth? What happens when the girl from Widow Hills becomes the center of attention again?

As usual, I was not disappointed after reading The Girl of Widow Hills. I found myself hooked from the beginning. The characters were likable and I enjoyed the various twists throughout the story. The newspaper articles and interviews sprinkled between the chapters was interesting, as well. While I do feel that the story was wrapped up a little quickly, I was still surprised by the ending.

Megan Miranda has quickly become one of my favorite authors, especially after meeting her last year. She’s sweet, a joy to chat with and can always be counted on for a page-turning read. All the Missing Girls was the first book of hers I read and I’ve been hooked ever since. Definitely an auto buy for me any time she releases a new book. I’m looking forward to seeing what she comes out with next!

This one was just okay for me . I’ve always enjoyed her books but this one just didn’t grab me and I just couldn’t engage with main characters

This was a really good read. I can really see the development of the writers writing style and plots since Joe read most of her earlier work. This one was a great story, creepy, and kept me guessing!

The Girl From Widow Hills was a quick read. Olivia wakes up outside and learns she’s been sleepwalking. She thought she had outgrown the habit. When she was 6 she had been swept away during a storm when she was sleepwalking and was missing for 3 days. There was so much publicity around it that she had changed her name to escape the notoriety and hasn’t told anyone in her life about it. But now it’s happening again - and next time she wakes up there’s a dead body at her feet.

This was a fast paced story that kept me hooked to see what would happen. I thought the ending was satisfying and not anything I saw coming but I’m not sure this is a story that will stick with me for long.

Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for the advance reading copy.

My thoughts about this book were a little mixed, perhaps I was just frustrated with the unreliable narrator and the black outs and forgetting everything.

It often felt like the story was a lot of “telling” me instead of going through the actual experience. There were times where the main character was going on and on about her thoughts or worries, what the other character might be doing or thinking, when an active plot could have done that for me. That aspect is really hard to explain though and not sure I’m accurately presenting that in my review, I think it was an attempt to keep me guessing, but it just lacked a little thrill.

Overall I do think the story is enjoyable, just fell a little flat for me.

Thank you to Simon and Schuster and netgalley for my advanced e-galley in exchange for an honest review,

Megan Miranda's "The Girl From Widow Hills" comes alive with well-developed characters and an attention-getting intro. From the first few pages, she hooks readers hungry to learn about a missing child and her life after being found.

Arden Maynor was 6 years old when she was reported missing. She was found, and life went on. Now, grown up and known as Olivia, she's trying to hide from the publicity of her past. She's a home out in the country where her nearest neighbor is an old man who helps her with chores and keeps an eye on her. When dead bodies start showing up, along with a box of her mother's belongings, Olivia's sleepwalking has returned, and she doesn't know who to turn to. Who is friend, and who is foe? It's a mystery and thriller that takes many twists and turns. The ending is satisfying, and you can't help but wonder what's next on this author's plate.

This was a great read!! I love how mystery was found between every chapter as more secrets unfolded this thriller started as a slow burn then was ignited into a fast pace thrill by the end not once but twice!! So here we have 6 year old Arden who goes missing for 3 days and is found as a survivor in a storm drain?! Really how often will you hear this scenario, and is a sleepwalker and ends up with a weird scar from an injury on her arm. She can't explain it and then has to live in this spotlight on her life because of all this but she can't remember a thing!! Fast forward to her years later, name change now Olivia, and doing good for herself on the outside but still guarded from all her earlier trauma. So childhood tragedy that became a legend, then to come back and haunt her years later, with the man showing up who saved her dead at her feet, all of sudden she was sleepwalking again and can't explain how his dead body laying in her yard and what happened!! Is she a murderer?! Is it someone new to her life that has found out her past?! Didn't she hide well enough in plain sight?! Why can't she just remember?!?!!! Take the thrill ride and find out in this captivating slow to high paced thriller!! Thank you Netgalley and Simon & Schuster for the copy to rate and review with my honest opinion, this is a winner for the spooks of 2020!!

This was a rather slow moving book. It was difficult for me to get invested in the story even with twists and turns. But those just didn’t provide any excitement to me. Perhaps because of the thrillers I’ve read in the past, I have a higher standard in my expectations. I hope others will enjoy the book more than I did.

Thank you to NetGalley and Simon & Schuster for my advanced review copy. All opinions and thoughts are my own.

The Girl from Widow Hills is a psyschological thriller that starts slow yet captures the interest of the reader making one want to continue. Olivia has done her best to put her past, as a missing child rescued from a strorm drain, behind her. Not easy as her Mother capitlized on the story and the media loved ate it up. Olivia is doing well in her new life until she received a box of her mother's belongings and that is when the mystery and craziness begins.
The writing made me uneasy and slightly jumpy, really connection me to Olivia. All the people in the life were suspects and I couldn't put the book down before I finished the book.
