The Girl from Widow Hills is another fast paced thriller from the amazing Megan Miranda! Her books ALWAYS make me smile because she knows how to leave her readers astonished! You start the story thinking you know what's going to happen only to be thrown through a loop and pushed down another trail. I absolutely love this about her books! If you're a fan of the author, don't miss this one. You will regret it!

This was the perfect light thriller. I found the story to be well paced and I enjoyed the characters. The over-arcing mystery was interesting and there were enough twists to keep me guessing. I really enjoyed my time with this book!

I have enjoyed Megan Miranda's books in the past especially 'All the Missing Girls'.

I loved the synopsis of this book when I read it and was overjoyed when I was approved to read the ARC.

A very well plotted and well paced book with great twists. I love the atmosphere created by the author in the book. I was totally hooked.

This book makes you think you know exactly where the story is going and who the killer is but then the end completely stumps you! The last part of the book is so well paced that you want to race through the pages to get to the end.

I really enjoyed this thriller and don't want to reveal too much about it because you should just read it!

Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for sending me a digital ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Wow! I just finished an advanced copy of The Girl From Widow Hills by Megan Miranda . This may be her best book yet. It's the story of Arden Maynor, who was swept away after sleepwalking during a storm and survived three days in underground pipes. To escape all the hoopla and changes her name and starts a new life. With the 20th anniversary of her ordeal looming she is certain something bad will happen and she begins sleepwalking again and finds herself in her yard, tripping over a dead body. There are all the great elements, murder, mayhem, relarionships, lies, and all twists and turns a reader loves! I'm giving it 4.5 stars because it is a little confusing at the start. Bravo. I think you have a winner here. Thanks to @simonandschuster @netgalley @meganlmiranda for the opportunity to read an advanced copy for an honest review.

Fantastic follow up which kept me on tenterhooks until the end. Such an interesting premise wonderfully executed, I’d definitely recommend this book if you like thrillers.

I’m a late comer to Meghan Miranda books so this is the third book I’ve read by her. I really enjoyed All the Missing Girls and loved The Last House Guest. I was able to get into this book from the very beginning and read it in three nights because I really couldn’t put it down. I enjoyed the characters and I loved the good twist at the end. It’s not my favorite of her but still definitely worth the read.

This is my 5th Megan Miranda read and it's definitely one of the best so far IMO. Very different sort of story line. The main character was a victim of a sensationalized accident when she was a child. The kind that has everyone in the community involved in search and rescue efforts. She doesn't remember much about what happened to her, but as an adult she changed her name and cut ties to anyone related to the incident in order to put it all behind her and start a life of her own. It really made me think... I know I've been guilty of being sort of offended when I can't find out more information about victims whose stories I've read or watched movies about. As if we are owed a piece of them because we cared enough to watch a story unfold in the media. I mean, there's much more to this novel than that, this is just something that jumped out at me and made me think.

This story has some great twists and dark content. I would recommend it for sure!

This was a fast-paced read that kept me guessing. The main character was sympathetic and the ending was a surprise. Much better than the The Last House Guest.

I have read All the Missing Girls and The Last House Guest by Megan Miranda, so when I saw her new book, I jumped at the chance to read it! The Girl from Widow Hills had me hooked instantly and I couldn't put it down. It kept me guessing through all the twists and turns. It was such a good book! I will definitely read all of Megan Miranda's books.

Talk about a heart racing novel! From page 1, this book had me in suspense and just when I thought I "solved" who was behind the murder, I was proved wrong. The booked flowed well but there were a few spots in the that confused me character wise, it was a little all over the place but I will highly recommend this to friends. (Also can't wait to read more of Megan's books!)

This one really did not hit home for me.

The story begins with an overly sensationalized (and in my opinion inflated for the sake of the story) incident where a child was washed away in a flood and found 3 days later. Sure, these things happen, but I don’t believe she’d be nationally hunted for decades to come. I bet 70% of America wouldn’t recognize even Elizabeth Smart walking down the street less than 20 years later.

There are also major gaps with characters and plot development. More than once, I found it difficult to distinguish who crucial characters even were, since they were never introduced properly (mainly Elyse, but also Bennett). Then pivotal plot points would involve them while I struggled to remember who they even were. It also became obvious that the author was incorporating a wide variety of red herrings simply to keep the reader on their toes. It felt more like being tested than reading a good story.

It would be a one star, but moving to 2 since I don’t give 1 stars at all, and the ending was mildly clever. I was definitely disappointed. Thank you Simon and Schuster for the ARC.

This was an excellent novel that I had a great time reading. The characters were well drawn, and the storyline flowed seamlessly. Would like to read more books by the amazing Megan Miranda.

The Girl From Widow Hills is a thriller about a young woman named Arden who, as a child, was swept away by rain waters and found after three days in the drainage pipes underground. As an adult Arden has changed her name to Olivia and moved away from Widow Hills to try and leave her past behind her. All seems well until a body is found on the property line between her house and her neighbors.

While I enjoyed the story, I felt as though the build up to the big plot twist wasn’t enough. I felt thrown off when I got to the end and it just didn’t make sense. I can see how some people could look past the issues I had with the story, which I will keep to myself as they do contain spoilers. However, for me this missed the mark. It wasn’t a bad book by any means, I just didn’t connect with it.

I alway's enjoy Megan Miranda's books and jumped at the chance to read this one early. This one started a little slowly, but it didn't take long for me to become invested. Fun, twisty read.

The first half of the book was a bit tedious - repeating bits of background info and not really focusing on much action. Even when there is a murder, I had to wait quite a while to find out who the victim is. However, in the second half, the mystery picks up. There are a few revelations that made me rethink what I thought I knew about the characters, and a few action sequences that made me want to keep reading. However, overall, I didn’t love the book; it was just okay. The short flashbacks are overdone and I wasn’t surprised by the final twist.

The Girls from Widow Hills is slow for about the first half of the story. At that point, it finally started to pick up and hooked me. Honestly, the book could've been a little bit shorter and faster paced. Had it been, I would have given it five stars.

I have really enjoyed some of Miranda's previous books. This one I found to have some strong points but it started off very slowly. I think it was a little overly descriptive and I found myself wanting it to get to the juicier parts of the story. Towards the end I found the story to get really strong and I enjoyed it. Had it been faster paced in the beginning, I would have been able to rate the book higher.

Another atmospheric winner from Megan Miranda. None of her thrillers are ever straight-cut, and this one is true to form, more about character development and the inner life of the female protagonist and her ambivalence to moving the action forward. She feels very real and that propels the reader through the murk. Definitely grateful for this ARC.

** I received an advanced readers copy in exchange for an honest and unbiased review. **
The Girl From Widow Hills was my favorite read of 2020 so far! I had the intention of reading for an hour or so and ended up reading through the entire story! Megan Miranda has a way of weaving a complicated story that captivates your mind to the last word. The twists and turns and nail biting suspense had me on the edge of my seat! I thought I had it right with how it was going to turn out in places and was blind sided by a sharp curve ball! Just amazing! I don't want to give away this incredible read. In my opinion, just go into with your eyes wide open and be prepared for the ride of your life! Thanks Simon and Shuster and NetGalley for this opportunity! 5 STARS!
