My daughter loved this book. The illustrations are so fun. I personally liked the Disney manga aspect of the novel. It's a great way to get students into reading by creating high interest material into an easy to follow and engaging format. The story did a great job of following true to the Descendants universe and was really cute.

The villains have been working hard to prove they deserve to stay in Auradon. Now some of their friends get that chance too. Dizzy receives a special invitation and is thrilled but begins to wonder if she will ever fit in. The art is cute, I love the bright colors. The story is a lot of fun, I enjoyed seeing the new characters. While the book wasn't necessarily my type of story, but I think my Middle Schoolers would enjoy it.

3 stars

This was a fun extra story in the Disney Descendants world. I love any extra stories we get the expand this world, it's so much fun. It also nice to see a story from the point of view that is not one of the main characters.

My daughter was happy to read this graphic novel as she loved the cover. She said it is geared to kids of course more than to teens (she 13) and found it sometimes a bit boring for her but she loved all the graphics and said she'd likely read others in this series. It is an easy and short read.

My daughter gave it a 4 out of 5 stars mainly as she loved the graphics, a 3.5 for the story. She said it was weird to summarize the story at the end of the novel.

A fun new graphic novel in the Descendants series. Fans of Dizzy will rejoice when they see their favorite character navigate peer pressure and fashion on the Isle of the Lost before coming to Auradon Prep.

I was fortunate to receive a free ARC of this book from Netgalley. The above thoughts, insights, or recommendations are my own meek musings.

This was such a cute book, I really enjoy the Descendants series and am glad that it is continuing in manga form. The story was good and I really liked the art style. Overall I really enjoyed reading this.

This is perfect for younger fans of The Descendents movies as it follows the story of Dizzy, one of Cinderellas evil stepsisters daughter. The manga is beautifully illustrated with a very colourful palate scheme although I was sometimes confused about what was happening. It is a very simple story probably designed for kids no older the middle grade. It was missing an element of back story to the characters though as it without having seen the movies you really don't know who the characters are. Overall a good story for fans but it won't be loved by everyone.

For fans of Disney's Descendents and comic adaptations of their favorite shows, Dizzy's story is a perfect addition. Though a bit juvenile in its exhibition, it's still a cute and simple story tabout a secondary character underdeveloped in the movies. Fans of the movies will enjoy the story showing other characters besides the main ones typically shown as well as the lovely artwork expected of Disney.

This is a full-color manga-style graphic novel. It tells the story of Dizzy, who is the daughter of an evil stepsister — yes Cinderella’s evil stepsister. If you enjoy the Descendants movies on the Disney Channel and/or have read any of the other graphic novels available and enjoyed then you’ll like this one too. Learning more about Dizzy is nice as she didn’t have much story in the movies. This is a story that happens between the second and third movies and Dizzy is welcome to Auradon Prep. She is excited. She visits Celia Facilier asking for her fortune so she can learn her future. Yet, it causes her to worry and that’s her adventure as she deals with her feelings we learn more about her. We meet other characters and some favorites throughout as well while enjoying the beautifully color illustrations throughout. This is a good graphic novel for any fan of these characters or even graphic novels. It is well done.

I was expecting a little bit more from this Disney manga. The pictures are cute but the story is very simple. However, it is aimed at children so I guess it’s appropriate. All in all, I enjoyed reading about the characters but the story would need to be more complex to give it more than 3 stars.

Thank you NetGalley and DBD for a free ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I picked this one up since my daughter is such a Descendent fan and recently started reading graphic novels. I love the art in this publication and appreciate the bonus art at the end of the novel as well. It let me show her a bit more of the process and tied it back to characters she likes. I am happy with the storyline with Dizzy and her character seemed true to form with this progression.

It's good, but isn't my favorite, because after reading Evie's series, it fell far behind. I had no connection with Dizzy.

It was kind of fun reading this graphic novel. I can’t say it was the best graphic novel I have ever read, but it wasn’t the worst one either. Seeing some of the kids of these well known villains was kind of cool. I doubt everyone will enjoy reading this, but I think fans of the films will want to check it out.

In this new Disney Descendants Manga book we see a new story from Dizzy's perspective as she looks towards a new life at school in Auradon Gil and Harry Hook look to recruiting her as their latest pirate gang member but she soon proves to be a unique pirate!

Will Dizzy leave Celia her friend and move to Auradon and will she prove herself pirate worthy?

The artwork in this book is brilliant as usual in Manga novels and the story gives me hope the franchise isn't over and will focus on Dizzy and the younger kids moving on in their lives as well as the cunning pirates pulling their usual tricks. A great quick read!

Many thanks to the publishers for allowing me to review this book for them!

I enjoyed this story. It was very easy to follow the storyline, the characters were well drawn and looked cute. I loved the character designs and liked the differences between this story and their tv designs (like Mal with blond hair). It was a short graphic novel and is great for readers with shorter attention spans or who can't seem to sit still for very long. The pictures are colourful and keep the reader engaged. I appreciated the character growth that Dizzy went through and the nervous energy she had engaging with the other characters. The recap at the end was also greatly appreciated so you made sure to catch all aspects of the story without missing the little details.

My only critique would be to have the text more visible. In some parts it was tricky to read among all the vibrant colours.

As far as illustrations go, this was pretty and nice with a wonderful color palette. The reading was a bit hard before I figured out who was talking and when. An overall easy story, though, nice, humorous. Of course important in the topics of self discovery and believing in your own worth.

*received from netgalley for free for honest review* This was a lot shorter/ as in not much happened than I thought? The art was great but yea pretty much nothing happened, great for kids learning to read though

My thirteen-year-old younger sister is obsessed with the Descendants, so I gave her the chance to read it before I did. Personally I find it nice enough and I'm glad to see an extra short story for the younger Descendants fans, while my sister thinks it waaaaaayyy too short. (Maybe that's the difference between a true Descendants fan and a non-Descendants fan as my sister claims haha)
