Daisy and Simon’s relationship was rocky after Simon wanted another child. However, after suspecting that Millie was not really his child, Simon went back to his ways. He seeks solace at the bottom of a bottle. After an unfortunate drunken night, Simon ran down his daughter. After getting out of jail for almost killing his daughter, he came home to find more lies awaited for him.

Would you ever be able to out-run your lies? The story is twisted and surprising without it being a mystery. It’s more relatable. Just like any marriages, there are small white lies that meant well and it just snowballs. For what she does for her daughter, Daisy’s personality is contradicting. She is a doormat, even trying to protect her child. She can’t seem to stand up to her friends or her husband, much less the evil man that did her wrong. The ending was a little far fetch. It was too neatly tied in a bow. But that doesn’t make it any less amazing way to end the story. The snowball effect of all the lies kept this story interesting without calling it a mystery/thriller.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this fabulous ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Lions, and Tigers, AND LIES. . . OH MY!

Deliciously suspenseful and Terrifically engrossing!

You won't be able to stop turning the pages fast enough! This is a book where less is more. You don't want to know too much going into this one. Parks is an excellent suspense novelist. She has you hanging on to her every word. I LITERALLY had to tear myself away from this book so I could get to work. But don't you LOVE books like that? I devoured this! It's page turning and exciting. A book to bring on vacation for sure! FIVE BIG, FAT, BRIGHT STARS!

Wow! I wasn’t sure how I would like this book at first because it didn’t really seem to be a domestic thriller but rather just a family drama story. It did definitely err on the side of family drama, but there was some suspense as well. It was a bit of a slow build, but then just kept getting better and better up until the shocker of the last page. Definitely recommend!

* Thank you to Netgalley and HQ for my ARC. I have given an honest unbiased review in exchange *

Daisy and Simon's marriage is great, isn't it? After years together, the arrival of longed-for daughter Millie sealed everything in place, until one night things take a turn.

This story deals with difficult issues including alcohol addiction, sexual violence and post natal depression. The characters are mostly flawed and not always likeable, but aren't we all.. Simon likes to drink and Olivia notices that it is more then just to let off steam, he needs help, but Simon doesn't see it that way and one day things change and will never be the same.

I thought the truth had already been revealed, but then right at the very end the truth came out. The massive secret that I never even guessed at. Which made this book even better in my eyes.

I've read one other novel by Adele Parks, I invited her in, and loved it so I knew I wanted to give this one a chance.
Daisy and Simon are happily married and have been trying for a baby for years, Millie is finally conceived and they are ecstatic.
Simon drinks a little too much, having started at 6, a brief prologue about it, so you knows it's a bad habit that's going to be an issue.
Simon is wanting another child, a sibling for Millie. Daisy is not too sure tho because of the years trying still in mind. She reluctantly agrees.
Simon attends a fertility clinic appointment and finds something out that changes everything!! He decides to keep this information secret from his wife tho which makes their marriage being to crumble.

Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read this novel
