I really, really didn't like Pascal in first two books (especially in the first one). What was to like? He was cruel, vicious, terrible human being. But a the same time, I was intrigue by him. An knowing Halle, I was prepare to fall for him or at lest like him at the end.
He and Gabrielle were great together. They didn't expect these strong feelings. They didn't expect to be so protective to each other. Yes, they were hit by this love. But both of them needed this.
Good redeem for Pascal.

This author did something that I didn't think was possible--she actually redeemed Pascal Dumont! I loved this series so much--each of the three books were unique and enjoyable in their own right, and until I read Disavow, Discretion (Book #1) was my favorite, but I can honestly say that Disavow surprisingly knocked it out of first place for me. This was the perfect conclusion to this alluring, mysterious, scandalous trilogy! I loved Gabrielle's strength and resilience, but it was her ability to bring out the redeeming qualities in Pascal that really made this such an enjoyable read. Watching two broken and damaged souls find redemption and salvation in each other made this a winner for me. I definitely recommend this trilogy if you like reading about mysterious, dysfunctional family members who become better versions of themselves. I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC for NetGalley.

Amazing as always. Just finished reading this book. Perfect closing to the trilogy. Love Karina's writing and story telling. The characters are so messed up that you can't not fall in love with.

Can't wait for her next book.

Pascal is, I think, the most complicated of the Dumonts. Is he a villain; is he a good guy? Is he both...like so many of us, is he a complicated person who just happens to have a few things in his past that are a little darker than most people have?

Gabrielle and Pascal knew one another when they were younger, and her mother is still employed by the Dumont family, so it is not a surprise that she returns to the home and takes a job working for Pascal.

But, that is where the expected ends for both of them. And, that is where the story begins for this 3rd in the series. Although it's hard to review as there are spoilers of the resolution of the relationships and for the over reaching death of the patriarch of the family.

I enjoyed all 3 of the titles, and I loved the way this handled the resolution of all of the stories.

I LOVED THIS BOOK! Karina Halle writes the BEST anti-heroes and Pascal was no exception. She also writes heroines that deal with these anti-heroes so well and teach them how to love, even if they might not be perfect.

I was skeptical going into this book after reading the first 2 books in the series. I never thought I would like Pascal, much less believe that anyone could love him, but this author managed to make him my favorite Hero of the series! The whole Dumont family knows how to bring the drama and angst and this book was no exception. Completely entertained by this whole book and series and will forever be in awe of this author and all of her characters!

If someone checks my GR profile, they will find a (short) list of my 5 pet peeves. Number two is the following:

2. Sleeping with other people. I don't want to read about one of the MCs having sex with a person who is not the other MC.

Somewhere in this book, Pascal makes Gabrielle find a restaurant to take his date to and find out her name. After the date, he brings the other woman home and fucks her while she is leaning on the window and he hopes that Gabrielle is watching because he wanted to make her jealous. The next morning he makes Gabrielle clean said window.

I stopped reading after that because I wanted a heroine who wouldn't settle for a man like Pascal. He didn't deserve her. Especially after what she went through.

Disavow by Karina Halle is book Three in The Dumonts Seires. This is the story of Gabrielle Caron and Pascal Dumont. I have read the previous books, which did add to my enjoyment of this one. I have been waiting to see how they would play out Pascal who hasn't been so nice. I do think you could make this a standalone book but this is such a good series you might just want to read them in order. Gabrielle was once the daughter of the maid for the Dumont house hold. But when she was a teenager she left the house but now she is back years later looking to get revenge for the wrong that she feels was done. Gabrielle ends up taking a job as assisting Pascal. Gabrielle didn't count on the feelings of attraction she would have with Pascal. Pascal has never felt just a feeling as he does with Gabrielle...she starts to melt his ice heart. Enjoyed this book and hope to read more from this author!!

Disavow is the third and final installment in this interconnected, stand alone romantic suspense novel from the author. I'm really looking forward to Pascal's story. From the start of this series, he is the character that you love to hate and I did. I loathed him for being such a ruthless, manipulative man to his family, to further his goal. But through all of it, I was intrigued and drawn to this seemingly merciless man. I know that there is more to him and this book told his devastating past.

Gabrielle used to work as a maid to Pascal's family until the day she mysteriously disappeared. Now, she's back to right a wrong and to take her mother from the evil clutches of Pascal's father, Gautier. The chemistry between the main characters is instantaneous, magnetic and inevitable. Looking closely, these two are more alike than they will ever know. I never thought that Pascal will fall in love, but I guess it will take another strong willed person to turn him around and make him realize that he is more than his father's lackey, more than his Dumont name.

To be honest, this is my favorite out of all the books in this series and I loved how the author wrapped it all up realistically, with a happy ending for everyone. I'm really sad that this has come to an end and I will surely miss the Dumont family. I loved it and I'm looking forward for more of this author's work.

I can never get enough of Karina Halle’s writing. Her stories, they capture me and suck me in. I love it. And this story does not disappoint. Definitely I recommend to all you romance readers

Wow - Disavow is not only romantic but its also about a journey of redemption for both main characters. Gabrielle and Pascal are complex characters that go on amazing journeys that I loved.

Pascal Dumont has turned his back on his brother and cousins all for the family business and his evil father. By putting his head in the sand he can pretend that all the bad things his father has done doesn't mean anything to him - that is until Gabrielle Caron comes home. Gabrielle the maid's daughter left the Dumont house 10 years ago and now she is back - more beautiful and definitely more memorable then what Pascal remembers. Gabrielle though has her own broken past and has an agenda to kill the man that hurt her all those years ago. Neither Gabrielle nor Pascal count on following for each other as well.

I have to say that Disavow is not only a fantastic ending to the Dumont series it, in my opinion, is the best book of the trilogy. The story hits home hard and I for one fell in love with Pascal - his redemption doesn't come easy and the payoff, in the end, is perfect. Ultimately The Dumont series is about family and how it comes all together. I would recommend that the books be read in order just so you can get the full picture but Disavow is fantastic on its own.

It was an ok read- not my most favourite of the series but still a good offering from Karina.

Even in the end though I still didnt relate or connect to Pascal- I think he went too far in previous books to get redemption.

3*

What an end to the series! A storyline full of twists and turns, an excellent redemption storyline. Questions are finally answered and the suspense will keep you on the edge of your seat! Not to mention the intense chemistry!

This author has a style that never fails to wrap me up, totally and completely from the very beginning!

I had faith that she could make me love this story, but still had reservations that she could make me like Pascal. I was wrong. I shouldn't have doubted even for a moment.

Know going in that everyone has or had ulterior motives in this story. Nothing is simple. The past of these characters looms big and dark and the only way out is through. Of the trio, this is hands down my favorite! They can be read as standalone, but I highly recommend starting at the beginning for full understanding.

Recommend!

Wow! Just Wow! This is the conclusion we were all waiting for! This story is filled with redemption, forgiveness, love and passion. We have danger, secrets revealed and just so much more. A suspenseful story that rivals Dynasty! I promise you will fall in love with Pascal and his evil heart will melt yours. Who knew that cold heart could actually show warmth and passion.
Gabrielle has come back for revenge, her scheme did not include Pascal being more than what he seemed. She planned for the devil and his spawn, but in a twist she gets something different, that throws her plans into a tail spin.
The conclusion of the Dumont family saga is one thrilling tale, so buckle up for the best story yet!

This is the third book in a series and is about Pascal who come off as a villain type in the two previous books. Pascal Dumont was not likable previously but he is redeemed in this story. The heroine is Gabrielle who is the daughter of the housekeeper. She is only back to get revenge. She and Pascal start getting close and are surprised by their feelings for one another. Pascal has previously done things to others without much remorse but is starting to realize others feelings as he falls for Gabrielle. They must battle their pasts as well as all the skeletons in the Dumont family closet. It’s an engaging story with a redemption arc that is believable as well as heartbreaking at times. The writing draws you into the family battles and the characters are multifaceted. It’s a stunning conclusion to an amazing series about the behind the scenes battles in a wealthy family. I highly recommend this book. I received a copy from the publisher via netgalley and this is my honest opinion.

Title: Disavow
Author: Karina Halle
Series: The Dumonts #3
Rating: 4.5 stars

Disavow is the final installment in The Dumonts. It can be read as a stand-alone, but in order to get everything you can out of it I suggest reading the first two books. Halle made sure this series was going to go out with a bang and boy did she deliver! If you’ve read the other books in the series, you know that Pascal is a villain and I wasn’t certain that she would be able to redeem him. But I SHOULD’VE KNOWN!!! Disavow is a thrilling story that will have you falling head over heels with the bad boy.

There were so many emotions while reading. I wanted to hate the hero but I found myself slowly but surely falling in love. I don’t want to spoil anything but I will say that Pascal’s journey to redemption was believable. Gabrielle was the perfect match for Pascal. She seriously was such an incredible character.

Overall, I really enjoyed reading this story. I am so excited to see what Halle comes out with next!

4.25stars--DISAVOW is the third and final instalment in Karina Halle’s contemporary, adult THE DUMONTS erotic, dark romance series focusing on the Dumont dynasty. This is Dumont fashion heir Pascal Dumont, and PA Gabrielle Caron’s story line. DISAVOW can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty but I recommend reading the series in order for back story and history.
SOME BACKGROUND: Several months earlier Ludovic Dumont, of the Dumont fashion dynasty died under mysterious circumstances, and in the aftermath his brother Gautier has all but removed any trace of Ludovic’s heirs from the family business. But all is not well in the Dumont family, with the return of Gabrielle Caron, the long-time maid’s only daughter.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Pascal and Gabrielle) DISAVOW follows the return of Gabrielle Caron to the house of horrors she experienced in her youth. Eight years earlier Gabrielle’s life was destroyed by Gautier Dumont, and in the ensuring years Gabrielle went to college, and planned for the future. Fast forward to present day wherein Gabrielle’s return forces Pascal to look at the bigger picture, a dysfunctional family whose own members can not be trusted, and have been destroyed by sins of the past. What ensues is the slow building romance between Gabrielle and Pascal, and the potential fall-out as Gautier Dumont is determined to destroy what’s left of our story line heroine.

The Dumont family has been torn apart by secrets and greed. With the mysterious death of Ludovic Dumont his own heirs have been shoved to the side but have managed to succeed on their own. With the return of Gabrielle Caron, Pascal Dumont’s struggles with issues of trust, but none more so when Gabrielle reveals the truth behind her unexpected return.

The relationship between Gabrielle and Pascal begins as a business arrangement when Pascal struggles to keeps a PA and maid. Gabrielle is reluctant to take on the position that places her in the direct line of fire, but a position that can also ensure close contact with her mother who continues to work for the Dumont family. Pascal’s slow seduction of our story line heroine forces Gabrielle to struggle between head and heart knowing that what she is about to do will destroy them all. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

All of the previous story line couples return in cameo roles, as well as the return of Gauthier Dumont, his long suffering wife; and Gabrielle’s mother Jolie Caron.

DISAVOW is a story of extreme family dysfunction; of secrets, lies, power and abuse; of forgiveness, acceptance, murder and love. The premise is entertaining and engaging; the characters are energetic, ruthless and desperate; the romance is seductive and captivating.

Karina Halle has quickly become an autobuy author for me. I loved this installment of her series with the Dumonts.

Thank you to Karina Halle, Netgalley, and the team at Montlake Romance for the advance review copy of Disavow the standalone conclusion to the Dumonts series.

I could not be more excited to bring you another Karina Halle review, love my fellow Canadian so much, she always kills it!

Characters: Pascale and Gabrielle are the main characters of Karina’s latest story. Pascale has been with us from the beginning, mostly in a villainous role. Finally getting into Pascale’s head was so worth it, to see that he is really a boy scared to death of what his father is capable of. And this fear towards his father spurs every action in Pascale’s life. Gabrielle was super interesting, she is someone who has channelled her hardships in life into a hard exterior. Once you get to know her a bit better you see just how multidimensional she is.

Setting: The Dumonts has taken place mostly in Paris and it has been wonderful. Karina does such a phenomenal job of depicting the setting of Paris.

Romance: I had been hoping to read Pascale’s love story for a long time. I was so ready to redeem him. In actuality it was so much better Gabrielle lets Pascale be his true self and what more could you ask for in a relationship.
