The Story of Us is a fast read. I sunk into the story and got caught up in the struggle between Sawyer and Jamie both for her store and romantically. I really liked the characters and the love letters and Valentine cards. This is a great read for the Valentine's season.

A perfect read for Valentine's Day. This story has love, angst, and hope all tied up with a pretty silk ribbon. We all know how Hallmark stories end but you will still find yourself playing the guessing game of will they or won't they end up together. Jamie and Sawyer's love story is classic but still beautiful.

Settle in your favorite chair with a cozy blanket and warm beverage for a night of clean romance. Whether you are happily ensconced in a relationship or happily single you will not want to miss this romance. You will be dreaming of books, roses, and good food as you turn the last page.

I received a complimentary copy from the publisher, Hallmark Publishing, through NetGalley. Any and all opinions expressed in the above review are entirely my own.

I adored The Story of Us by Teri Wilson!

Based on the Hallmark Channel Original Movie with the same name, The Story of Us follows True Love Bookstore owner Jamie as she tries to save her bookstore and the town's charming business district from being taken over by a developer eager to tear everything down and start from scratch. Going after a developer is a tough task for any business owner, but it gets even harder when Jamie discovers the developer's architect is none other than her high school sweetheart Sawyer. Jamie hasn't seen Sawyer since he broke up with her 15 years ago but the more time they spend together, the more Jamie realizes that she never really got over Sawyer. With her beloved bookstore and now her heart on the line, Jamie will have to think outside the box if she's going to save bookstore and get a second chance at love with Sawyer.

Teri Wilson did such an incredible job telling Jamie and Sawyer's story of second chance love. I felt like I was watching the movie unfold before my eyes with each new chapter. I loved getting into both Jamie's and Sawyer's heads to see how they handled facing off against each other and rediscovering their feelings for each other. I also enjoyed the subplot of Lucy and Rick's romance.

I will definitely be purchasing the paperback copy for my home library. I look forward to reading more of Teri Wilson's Hallmark Publishing novels.

Thank you NetGalley, Hallmark Publishing and Teri Wilson for the digital ARC.

You need to discover if there is a "Us"
Teri Wilson is the author of many novels and RITA-award finalist. Some of her books have been turned into Hallmark movies. With "The Story of Us. Based on the Hallmark Channel Original Movie" she is presenting another book published by Hallmark Publishing. Jamie Vaughn, bookstore owner in Waterford, Oregon, does not realize that something was amiss, ignoring the fact that the whole business district was in serious dangers. Stores in her neighborhood had closed but "books were Jamie's thing; her one true love. Other than Eliot {her cat] of course. And her bookshop which was aptly called True Love Books & Café (p. 7)." Things could get worse. The Ridley Property Development had a business district project for Waterford, designed by Sawyer O'Dell. Sawyer was originally from Waterford and had been the former high school sweetheart of Jamie. For Sawyer the question was if there is something more important for him than getting a permanent position at Ridley's. Jamie, on the other hand, was fighting for her shop and the business district when she found out what was going on. But is this the only thing that she can loose? Would the box of old love letters have any influence on what is going to happen?
This was the second book by Teri Wilson which I read. I can highly recommend this clean and wholesome romance which is a great and easy read. The characters are believable and the story contains emotional elements. Additionally Hallmark Publishing has included a recipe for Wild Mushroom and Asparagus Risotto.
The complimentary copy of this book was provided by the publisher through NetGalley free of charge. I was under no obligation to offer a positive review. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Jamie finds herself at odds with her high school sweet heart when he returns after fifteen years. She owns True Love Bookstore and Cafe, a place near and dear to her heart, and his business proposal to the town threatens its very existence.

She should hate him, but the old feelings emerge, and she's torn.. Sawyer's experiencing the same pull, but what can be done, the town needs revitalization to stay competitive. His business finesse is convincing many other shop owners, too.

With a Valentine's Day deadline just around the corner, and the discovery of love letters from the original owners, will the season of love be enough to find a compromise and reunite Jamie and Sawyer? Time is ticking to the heartbeat of a second chance love, and the parallels with Jane Austen's *Persuasion* are not lost on the reader..

A novelization of the Hallmark movie with the same name, this story stays true, but it goes deeper into the characters and plot. The perfect Valentine's romance!

Jamie Vaughn loves her charming little town of Waterford, Oregon and is working hard to make her romance bookstore a success. She knows that businesses are struggling but is hopeful that things will eventually turn around. When her former high school sweetheart, Sawyer, arrives in Waterford, working for a property development company that wants to buy all the small businesses and turn it into a bigger and more modern retail space, Jamie becomes determined to save all the stores, including her beloved bookstore from being torn down. But the more time she spends with Sawyer to remind him of their wonderful hometown and hopefully, convince him to stop the redevelopment project, the more she finds herself falling in love with him all over again.

The Story of Us by Teri Wilson is a sweet and lighthearted Valentine's Day themed love story that Hallmark fans are sure to enjoy. I loved the romance-themed bookstore setting, and the old love letters were a sweet touch and just added to the romantic Valentine's Day atmosphere of the story. Second chance romance is one of my favorite tropes in the romance genre. There's just something special about a couple finding their way back to each other after a long separation and overcoming the past to give their love a second chance. Jamie and Sawyer's romantic history and wonderful chemistry together made it very easy to root for them as a couple. I also enjoyed the romance between Lucy and Rick and found myself laughing out loud during some of their interactions.
I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what would happen to Jamie's bookstore and was very satisfied with the ending. I definitely recommend this book. It's the perfect Valentine's Day read.

"The Story of Us" was a sweet Valentine Romance novel. Makes you want to wrap up in your favorite blanket with coffee! I loved this book! It was a refreshing read!
Jamie Vaughn grew up in Waterfront, Oregon and shopped the Truly Love Books and Cafe that she now owns in the downtown district. All of the shop owners receive a letter of a meeting to discuss a Project by Ridley Development. Sawyer O'Dell, raised in Waterfront as well and Jane's first love, high school sweetheart is in charge of the redesign project for Ridley.
You won't be sorry getting this book!

The Story of Us is a love letter to books, community, and – most importantly – love in all its forms. Teri Wilson manages to deliver a Valentine’s romance that is incredibly sweet without ever edging into saccharine territory.

Jamie may be on a romantic hiatus – the current love of her life is her cat, Eliot – but she believes in true love. More importantly, she believes in True Love Bookstore and Café, the bookstore she owns that has been her lifelong dream. Jamie also loves her picturesque Oregon town, but the business district is suffering and a retail development company is closing in, determined to crush the district and turn it into a generic retail space. Jamie is determined to save her bookstore and the business district, but she doesn’t count on the architect the developers send in: Sawyer, Jamie’s high school sweetheart.

Sawyer and Jamie are at loggerheads for much of The Story of Us. Both of them have opposing goals and have solid reasons for trying to swing the town council vote their way. How this storyline plays out is predictable, but any other outcome would have been unsatisfying given the circumstances. Being on opposing sides is no match for true love, especially when Jamie discovers old valentines and love letters in her bookstore. Both were an incredibly sweet touch; the letters especially as they have an important lesson for Jamie and Sawyer. The push-pull of love that never died versus opposing goals did start to drag a bit, I will admit. Still, I could not help but be charmed by the delicate sweetness of the story overall. The Story of Us is a lovely romance with nods to The Shop Around the Corner/You’ve Got Mail, which makes it a perfect Valentine’s Day read.

Did you know that Hallmark makes books as well as movies? The Story of Us is everything you would expect a Hallmark book to be, a little bit cheesy but sweet at the same time. Teri Wilson is a talented writer and she makes the most of her subject matter, a sweet Valentine's Day story about a bookstore owner and her ex-boyfriend architect who comes to town with the mission of rebuilding the town shopping center, including True Love Books, the main character's store.

Light, feel good love story!
Jamie has been back in her home town for six years, working hard to make her beloved bookstore a success. She loves everything about the historic town and is very happy with how things are going until her exboyfriend, Sawyer, comes to town representing the development company that wants to buy all the small businesses and develop them into a booming business center. Jamie works hard to stop the selling of the store, and to stop herself from falling for Sawyer all over again. Can she find a way to keep her store and Sawyer at the same time?
I really enjoyed the book. The characters were real and wonderfully developed. While the plot was predictable, it was filled with fun, romance, and second chances.

Definitely a Hallmark romance novel, but it was a cute read. The main characters are highschool sweethearts that lost touch for a while before reuniting into a difficult situation of small town business versus big city architect. Jamie and Sawyer are a good couple, but not completely believable. If you do not watch the movie, this will just be an okay contemporary romance.

This book definitely did the show justice and then some. Your heart breaks for the shaky future of the beloved store, and you want to see the heroine have her cake and eat it too. The author wowed me!

The Story Of Us gave me all of the cozy feels! Grab a warm cup of coffee, tea, or cocoa and snuggle up with your favorite blanket for this story.

The Story Of Us takes place in a tiny, cozy little town in Waterford, Oregon. Jamie Vaughn is now the owner of Truly Love Books & Café which is a romance book store that has been in downtown district for years. Jamie herself grew up going to this bookstore. One day Jamie receives a flyer notifying all the shop owners of a council meeting to discuss the new business district project by Ridley Property Development.

In comes Sawyer O’Dell who works at Ridley Property Development as a freelance architect who is in charge of redesigning the Waterford business district in to a mixed use space. Sawyer grew up in Waterford and feels that he knows what would work best for the community. Who better to promote the changes than Sawyer himself?

Rewind 15 years to when Sawyer left Waterford for college and broke up with his high school sweetheart none other than Jamie O’Dell herself. Sawyer’s first day back in town he happens to run in to Jamie which then starts the feud for each party to win the heart of the community in which to gain support for each of their objectives.

I absolutely adored the small town vibe in this novel. I am also a sucker for any novel representing a quaint little bookstore. I enjoyed seeing the relationships develop not only between Jamie and Sawyer but also between Rick and Lucy. I do wish this novel would have gone a little deeper in to Mary and Harrison’s story but maybe there will be a second novel coming out. Hint, hint…. 😊

Thank you to NetGalley and Hallmark books for allowing me to read an early copy of this book.

This adorable, seasonal gem is a happy Valentine for readers who adore clean, fun and witty adventures. Literary followers will appreciate classical references from bookstore owner, Jamie. Whether her ex/first love, Sawyer, is on the nice or naughty list remains to be seen when he returns to the lovely town of Waterford for a rehabilitation project for the heart of the town. That heart is of supreme importance to Jamie, who fights for truth, justice and the way of preservation.

In search of a way to save her True Love Bookstore and its history, Jamie stumbles upon a treasure box of old letters and valentines. In the process, she reminds Sawyer of all he left behind in pursuit of big dreams and journeys elsewhere.

Enjoy this delight from Teri Wilson. I will certainly look for more offerings from this author.

I received a copy of the book without obligation. This review is my opinion.
