This was a well-written drama that had me intrigued as I too, wanted to know all I can about the deceased and all those who had stronger motives to want him dead. The mystery was nicely executed with scoops of suspects and plenty of clues sprinkled throughout to keep this tale delectably appetizing. What I found most entertaining while reading this was the references to well-known amateur sleuths. Boasting a quirky cast of characters, engaging dialogue, especially the humorous moments, and a small-town atmosphere, this was a fun book to read and I look forward to the next book in this delightfully charming series.

Another cute cozy mystery. This one includes ice cream so it started out as a hit for me early on. This mystery had a touch of humor, a lot of ice cream and a fun start to a new series. I can not wait for the next one.

Fabulous start to a brand new cozy series! Win was a super compelling main character, and I loved the focus on family, intriguing mystery elements, and, of course, ALL the ice cream (seriously the ice cream descriptions were just so good!). Can't wait to read the next one!

This was such a cute mystery set in a cute small town. I used to work in the ice cream business so I felt connected to this story.

Bronwyn “Win” Crewse is a motivated and social media savvy African American former ad executive, who recently inherited her beloved grandparents ice cream parlor Crewse Creamery. Win dreamed of restoring the parlor to its former glory when her grandparents moved to charming Chagrin Fall’s Ohio from the South during the great migration. Once she is finally ready to open the newly remodeled parlor and dish out yummy ice cream, two things get in her way: Chagrin Fall’s first snowfall and a dead body. I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of this book not just the mystery, when I first started reading cozies it was advised that you read books about topics that interest you. As much as I love ice cream I was not sure that a cozy set in an ice cream parlor could keep my attention. I was pleasantly surprised that so much of Win's life at the parlor did, from her problem solving, to her loving familial interactions, to Win and her friends’ camaraderie, her brainstorming for delicious ice cream recipes, and Win’s evolution from reluctant witness to amateur sleuth. Ms. Collette crafted a delightful cozy community that makes the reader want to relocate just to try a scoop of Win’s delicious ice cream. “Fingers and ice cream scoops crossed” that everyone loves this cozy mystery as much as I do.

This first-in-a-series was a nice start to a culinary cozy with all of the ice cream you could want! Interesting characters, a cozy small town and a solid mystery that's hard to puzzle out, I've already recommended this cozy to my sister for her next mystery read. The writing is great, the main character is likable and her family and friends suitably supportive yet wacky. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series!

Win Crewse has just restored her family's ice cream shop in Chagrin Falls, Ohio and is finally ready for it's first day open. Unfortunately, repairs took longer than expected and it is the dead of winter and her first day open comes with a blizzard and no customers, and a body in the snow by the falls behind the shop. That can't be good for business. Especially when her father becomes suspect number one. Yes, this means Win has to dig into family and small town secrets to see who the real killer is, 'cause we all know it's not dear old dad. This is the first in a promising new series. Win is part of a large African-American family in an all-white town, lots of small town character and characters, and the ice-cream shop serves as a nice focal point. Win and her best friend may be using television detectives as guides for their detecting, but the only lesson they seem to have learned is to ask questions. Period. They seem pretty clueless detectives, even by amateur standards. Hopefully they will gather a few skills with subsequent books or someone's going to get shoved over the falls. Engaging characters and setting help make up for it.

Great new series! Interesting backstory of a shop that sells ice cream year-round, even when it’s snowing! Loved the importance of family and friends throughout the book. If you like a good mystery, loyalty to family and ice cream, then this is the new series for you.

In Abby Collete's cozy mystery, Deadly Inside Scoop, the cast of lovable, diverse characters, make solving a murder a delight to follow. Who would have thought to make an ice cream shop in quaint Chagrin falls, Ohio would be the setting for a cozy whodunit?

I was taken by the synopsis and cover of this book, however, that’s about all I enjoyed. The story is silly, and not in a good way. I lost interest about halfway through, in large part due to how irritating the Maisie character was. Rather than pull off quirky, she came across as immature and the fact that anyone followed her assumptions was dumbfounding to me. I’ve read and enjoyed cozy mysteries, but this one was not for me.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is definitely a cozy mystery, very sweet just like ice cream!

I was surprised that although our heroine Win was an MBA college graduate who had held a prestigious job in NYC, she called her mom and dad - Mommy and Daddy, and Dad called her Pumpkin - that really made her seem like she was a high school student not an adult; some names were hard to pronounce and that complexity wasn't necessary.

After Win finds a dead body near her ice cream shop, the twists and turns building her investigate experiences with her friends was much better with her PopPop; his role throughout was very endearing and he guided Win to success in this experience and in overall life advising her to talk to local folks and ask more questions.

Nice tips for making ice cream and recipes are included.

Abby Collette you hit this book out of the park. I loved the quaint village and the characters. I just loved the book and can’t wait until the next one comes out.

If you haven’t read Abby Collette’s books try this series. I think you will love it. It kept me intrigued all the way through.

Once again loved this book and author.

This was a great mystery novel that was light-hearted and fun to read. I loved Win's devotion to her family in both her personal life and the family business. I felt her friends were a great dynamic and worked as a great contrast to her down to earth personality. They all worked fantastically together and helped her solve the mystery.

All in all, this was a great mystery with surprising twists and turns that will keep you guessing until the very end. If you enjoy something light and love great mysteries then this is the book for you. There is even a surprise at the end of the book - ice cream recipes from the ice cream parlor that was the setting of the novel.

I love a good cozy mystery with fun, unique characters and this was not a disappointment. It’s such a fun entertaining read and I adored all the characters. This did a great job introducing the town and characters.

Wyn is a very likeable main character, she’s the perfect lead and believable in how she acts. Her best friend Maisie is so funny and I adored her. The small town feel was charming and interesting and delivered some unique personalities. I really enjoyed the references to well known amateur sleuths.

I had my guesses as to who did it and was surprised in the end which I loved. All the questions brought up and storylines had a good resolution in the end. I highly recommend having ice cream nearby because my goodness it all sounds amazing and I was having serious cravings. I am really looking forward to more in this series.

I was super excited when I heard about this book deal. Culinary cozies are a favorite of mine, and I've never read an ice cream shop cozy - something I didn't know I needed in my life! Abby Collette's A Deadly Inside Scoop does not disappoint.

There was so much I enjoyed about this well-written mystery: the likable, relatable main character, Bronwyn, her big supportive family, the ice cream - did I mention the ice cream? There's a lot of it: people eating it, people making it... I enjoyed all of the ice cream details, and you'll do well to have a big scoop of ice cream in hand as you read. There's the obligatory charming small town full of interesting shops and quirky characters, and the mystery was well plotted and chock full of fun references to television and literary amateur sleuths.

All in all, a solid start to a new series. I'm looking forward to reading book 2 in An Ice Cream Parlour Mystery.

Readers who enjoy cozy mysteries, culinary mysteries, ice cream (!) and culturally-diverse characters will enjoy this first in a series.

Bronyn (Win) Crewse is getting ready for the first day of business for the newly-opened ice cream store her family ran. Her grandfather put her in charge after her aunt quit and move to North Carolina.
When she decides to go down by the falls to collect snow to make ice cream with. She winds up stumbling over a body buried in the snow.
The body belongs to a man who try to sell the business from her grandmother many years ago in the past. The manner in which he was killed, has her surgeon the father as the prime suspect.
Now it's up to Win and her best friend Masie to try to find the real killer and clear Win's father's name.

This was a fun story, it has a developed cast of characters, a bit of humor, and a strong storyline. This was a fun first story any new series, and I'm really looking forward to the next in the series.
I would like to thank author Abby Collette and NetGalley for the chance to read this book.
