The second story in the NOLA Knights series certainly fires the blood and keeps things interesting. For long time fans of Rhenna Morgan, these men have interested us for a while since the burst into the picture in the previous series as side characters and we just had to have their stories. Being a good fan-loving author she gave into our demands (giggle) and born was the NOLA Knights series. The first story revolved around Kir’s boss and his love for a sweet single mother, but Kir falls for a woman with a much more dangerous lifestyle to be sure. Kir’s insight helped break a huge story for Cassie several months ago and they began a relationship, but when she learned more about who he really was she ran from him. Deciding to try again, she finds herself drawn back into his life and soon the heat between them becomes much more integral to her life than any story she could be trying to run. Kir has tried to forget the woman that made him nuts and then ran from him, but when she returns to his life there is no way he will give up on a second chance with her. Soon they are so deep that there is no denying they are meant to be together and that Kir’s enemies will do just about anything to destroy any chance they have at happiness if they don’t fight for it. I loved this story and it was fantastic getting to know these characters more. Kir is the right-hand man to a serious power-house so you can sometimes overlook just how dangerous and powerful he is in his own right. Kir is such a sweet and loving individual when he is with those he considers family, which actual includes a good number of non-blood relations, but if you are threatening that family in any way, LOOK OUT because he becomes a beast. Cassie is a bit annoying to me and selfish in the beginning, but she gradually becomes more likeable as she finds her footing and begins to understand and standup for what she really wants. I liked seeing these two dancing around one another and finding their way to love. Ultimately the important parts of the story revolved around them falling in love and Cassie finding her place in the family that Kir has offered her, not the dangerous life he leads. Passion is of course a given with Rhenna Morgan and is in no way missing from this story, but I will definitely say that this one burns even hotter than some in the past. I am dying for whichever story and man comes next though I have my suspicions. More, more, more!

I did enjoy this one. As far as the romance went, I think it was good. There was definitely chemistry and I was rooting for the MC's HEA.

I might just find myself looking for the author's other works to read.

The second book in this series has Cassie McClintock a reporter for a news station in New Orleans she had reported on the missing Russian mafia boss a year before and one of the persons that gave her some of her information was Kir Vasilek who works for Sergei who was from the first book. The two of them Cassie and Kir had a thing together for a short time but then she stopped returning his calls and answering his texts.
After she moves into a new place Kir looks her up because he needs her help with a family matter into his family and another rival. He also takes his wanting to be with Cassie to a new level and once she realizes is hooked as well there is no denying her love for him and the family especially when you get to the end of the book. This is a very good book and very much worth the read and I liked all of the characters.

This was a pretty decent read. I liked both Kir and Cassy. The plot was pretty basic but flowed well enough. I’ll probably read more from this author. I recommend.

Hers to Tame is the follow up to His to Defend. I have read both and this works fairly well as a stand alone. I believe this is also an off-shoot of another series by this author because several side characters are mentioned in it, but I never felt lost. If you are a fan of mafia romances, then I think you will like this series. They are in the Russian mafia, but more of a "mafia light".

I liked Kir and Cassie together. It's always fun to watch an alpha male fall really hard for a strong female. Cassie was his perfect match. Their chemistry was off the charts. Another favorite thing in romance is when two people who have not grown up with love or family closeness, find it in each other. The mystery in this one was one that kept me reading. I didn't figure it out. I highly recommend this one as well as the first book. I look forward to reading the next book when it comes out.

Rhenna never fails to entertain. I'm not usually a fan of reporter heroines, but Cassie was a solid, relatable heroine that I liked very much. And there is never a doubt about Rhenna's swoon-worthy alpha heroes, Kir being no exception. She also does a fantastic job with the New Orleans backdrop, which I can be picky about after having lived there. I'm a huge fan of this series, and the original Men of Haven series, where this one spun off. I can't wait for the next one!

Ruthie – ☆☆☆☆
4.5 stars of absolute hotness!

This is the second book in the series and I highly recommend that you start with His to Defend, which tells Sergei and Evette's story, and is also absolutely enchanting and they are important in this book too.

Cassie is by choice a photographer, but earns her living as a TV reporter. She needs her next big story to retain her prime TV slot, and thinks that maybe reconnecting with Kir, a source from her past, will help. But chance gives her the opportunity to get close to him again, and all thoughts of a story fall by the wayside as they clearly have unresolved chemistry.

Kir is a very loyal member of Sergei's family here in the USA. He has seen how the love that his hardened boss has found has changed everything but is not expecting to fall... until he decides to make a move on Cassie, who has not left his thoughts. They go fast and he has no doubts that she is the one, even though he has to reconcile himself with his past and how he will be in the future.

I loved catching up with this group of fabulous people and of course, the Haven Team (if you have not read them, then you are in for another treat!!). It is so refreshing to have a story where the man is so certain and consistent and has to be what every woman would wish for – and Cassie does get with the plan quite quickly. As they work together to resolve the mystery of his hacker's murder, we see just what a great fit they really are with each other.

My advice, go and buy a copy, and enjoy a wonderful read.

Avid Reader – ☆☆☆☆
M/F Romance (mafia)

Cassie is good at her job. She knows that she needs another great story, but she’s not sure where she should look to get it. When she decides that she needs to be better at adulting, she moves into a small apartment and leaves the comforts of her aunt’s house.

Kir knows that his family means everything to him. But when it’s hit by outside forces, he’ll have to talk with the only woman who has truly ever gotten under his skin. Kir seeks Cassie out to figure out whether or not she might be able to help him find the people responsible for murdering one of his family.

Cassie and Kir have amazing chemistry, but neither truly knows if they can trust the other. With their back and forth banter, Kir’s protective streak, and Cassie’s ability to tease out a story from nothing, these two will have to wind their way through betrayal, mystery, and their attraction.

Hers to Tame by Rhenna Morgan is a hot, intense, and dangerous read. It involves a Russian mafia family of sorts. They do everything in their power to protect their own. When someone hurts their own, they strike back. Inside, I met Kir. Kir is a Russian mafia man who was betrayed by both his parents. His own mother hurt their family and disowned their names. His father died from her betrayal. Kir vows to not let a woman into his life. Until, a certain blonde beauty enters his life. From there, Kir and Cassie have a hot affair and then try to pursue a business only relationship. Only that doesn't work out for Cassie. Kir never says he didn't want Cassie romantically. His family is funny and charming. I like them all. They are not his blood family but they're good enough to be his family. My heart broke for this mafia gang family and for Cassie. Good characters, tons of danger, and plenty of action. The romance between Cassie and her Russian man heats up the pages. This is one novel readers don't want to miss!

I voluntarily read an advanced review copy of this book

This book and this series is everything! I though that since I related to book 1 so much that I could not love any other book in the series as much as book 1 but when I read book 2 Kir had me at hello. Overall this book was great and I can't wait for the next NOLA Knight to fall in love!

My Review: I’m a huge fan of Rhenna Morgan, however, Hers to Tame was not my favorite book so far. This story was really slow moving for me. Around the 50% mark it picks up a bit, but there isn’t a lot that really kept my interest. Kir is a great character; he’s strong, protective and devoted, but I didn’t connect with Cassie. She seemed a little boring and indecisive. The main conflict of the story was pretty repetitive to previous books in her Haven Brotherhood series. I just didn’t get that excited about this one, it was OK but not great. I will continue to read Ms. Morgan’s books though, they are usually very good.
Disclosures: I received a free copy of this book from NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is the second book in a series that is a spin off of the Men of Haven series. Here we have Kir and the reporter Cassie who we both met in the previous book. Their relationship is fun to see and there is much chemistry between them. The romance takes place while other events are also happening. It’s a fun story with multifaceted characters. Looking forward to the next books in the series.

Cassie McClintock and Kir Vasilek.

Kir is the avtoritet for the Russian Crime Syndicate. Which is basically the right hand man to the big boss (Sergei).

"I'm Russian. Vodka is water. Coffee requires sugar and cream to even it out."

Cassie and Kir have a bit of a past but went their separate ways. That does not mean they didn't think about one another. Cassie is trying to get her break at her job. Being her last break was when Kir helped her. And now Kir needs her again. He also doesn't want to let her go this time around.

I loved Aunt Frieda and how easy she fits in with everyone she meets.

I like the camaraderie with Kir, Roman and Sergei. The suspense story line was well done and got me engaged waiting to see how all the pieces fell together. I also like that we get a bit of a crossover with the haven series. I do like this series and can't wait for Roman's story.

Cassie McClintock is a reporter in New Orleans. When she first met Kir Viselki it's for a brief, but unforgettable time. When she hears rumors about who he is and who he works for, she puts distance between them. But Kir needs her help this time and no other woman has ever made hims feel the way Cassie does. Will they be able to stick to business, or will their story go elsewhere?

Thank you to NetGalley and Carina Press for the opportunity to read and review this book.

When I first started reading this book, I wasn't sure how well I was going to like it. The story started off slowly, but then there was a change in the dynamic of the story that made me sit up and pay more attention to the story.

When Cassie asked for Kir's help, it was for a story she was working on for the news. Their relationship goes from business to personal really fast. When she hears that he may work for the Russian mafia, she is easily turned off from him, but when he needs her help, she finds a different side of him. When Cassie's life is threatened because of her story, it's Kir that bring her into his "family" to keep her protected. Will they be able to maintain a professional relationship, or will romance take over?

Kir has the face of an angel but as the right hand of the Vor, he sometimes has to channel his inner demon. So his every word, every move, every action is deliberate, precise. Nothing he does is without reason or purpose so pursuing Cassie McClintock defies all reason. She may be looking to give her career a much-needed boost. But once he realizes that his heart belongs to her, he begins to do everything within his power to make her path smoother. But once his true identity and her connection to him is leaked to her boss, Cassie finds herself weighing her feelings and her career. to choose one means to lose the other. And she's not convinced that losing Kir is a good bargain.

continuing the very hot russian mobsters in new orleans a.k.a. the nola knights series, hers to tame features avtoritet, kir vasilek, and intrepid reporter, cassie mcclintock and it's another deeply swoony, hot alpha, anti-hero type love story.

this is totally my kind of romance, it's escapist fun, the men are sexy and hot and dominating but also deeply respectful. and i just love it. there's enough mystery and suspense here that i don't want to give away too much of the plot.

but mostly this is about kir claiming cassie as his one true love and i am here for it.

**hers to tame will publish on march 16, 2020. i received an advance reader copy courtesy of netgalley/carina press in exchange for my honest review.

Although I was sad when the Men of Haven series came to an end, it only took reading the first book in Rhenna Morgan’s NOLA Knights series to recover 😉 Yeah, His to Defend had me hooked and Hers to Tame sealed the deal.

Cassie was attracted to Kir, but after she heard disturbing things from her co-workers, she became leery and decided to keep her distance. That worked, until she ran into him again. And then Kir decided he wasn’t going to let her go again.

For me, the romance (almost) plays second to the family aspect between Sergei and those he holds close. Which includes his Haven brothers and their family and especially whoever Kir and Roman bring into the fold.

It took Cassie a while to get used to that kind of love and trust, but once she did, she no longer had any doubts about Kir. It was overwhelming at times, but not in a bad way. Kir helped her find herself along the way.

Mine to Keep is next and there was enough of tease at the end of Hers to Tame to make me wish for the release sooner rather than later. Roman’s next and given who his HEA is destined to be, things are going to get really interesting.

Cassie has an eye for photography and and nose for news stories. One of those just might get her killed.
After reading book one of the NOLA Knights books, I couldn’t wait to dive it to Cassie and Kir’s story. There’s just something about those Bratva brothers but Kir’s backstory is just extra good, in a heart wrenching way. I loved Cassie too and was thankful she had an Aunt Frieda in her corner.

The story flows very well and I thought it was super clever how the author sprinkled in clues that didn’t even appear to be clues until towards the end. It all comes together in a pretty neat package with one or two red herrings to make it extra interesting. I didn’t expect the explanation and that’s a good thing. I like it when the author surprises me as long it makes sense.

Kir is just the right side of protective and it’s was good to see Cassie not immediately run from it. She’s really just a cool character and someone who I was happy to see Kir claim. And claim her he does. As with book one in the series, the bond is almost tangible but not actually paranormal. Two halves of a whole, magnet to steel.
I gave a little squeal when I realized that I got to meet Roman’s intended for book three. That book can’t be released fast enough! He’s one of those ‘still waters run deep’ kind of men and she’s totally going to get him stirred up in all the right ways!

This is a Russian mafia romance that doesn’t stray into the dark too much. It’s touching and hot and well worth the read.

A red-hot sizzler laced with plenty of passion, drama and intrigue, Hers to Tame, Rhenna Morgan’s second instalment of her NOLA Knights series, is a steamy, engrossing and captivating contemporary romance readers will not be able to resist.

Kir Vasilek never loses his cool. A man who can rise to any challenge and handle himself in any situation, Kir is not the kind of man to get flustered easily, but the man who thrived on danger and who never backed down from a fight finds himself acting like a teenager when Cassie McClintock strolls back into his life and the cool, calm and usually collected avtoritet for one of the most powerful crime syndicates in New Orleans finds himself all tongue-tied and nervous. Cassie had been to one who had got away and Kir is damned if he is going to let her slip through his fingers a second time. Kir will use every single weapon in his arsenal to keep Cassie close by his side, but can he manage to convince her that the only way she can be happy is if she becomes his? Or does Cassie know far too much about the dangerous world Kir moves in to want to stick around again?

Cassie has every reason to be grateful to Kir. The information he had provided her once had made her career, however, she soon realized that reporting on the Russian mafia and tangling the sheets with one of the organization’s most dangerous men are two completely different things. Cassie might have sleepless nights thinking about Kir’s sensuous touch, but she is adamant she will never succumb to his seduction ever again…or will she? When fate brings the two of them together again, Cassie finds herself unable and unwilling to resist the only man who had ever managed to get under her skin and when murder forces them both to work together, resistance proves absolutely futile and pretty soon it is not just dangerous criminals that she has to worry about, but the incendiary passion that sizzles between the two of them!

Will Kir and Cassie ever have a future together? Or are their worlds too different and dangerous for the two of them to ever even dare contemplate the thought of spending the rest of their lives together?

A juicy, spicy and nail-biting page-turner written with plenty of style and sass, Hers to Tame is a sizzling romantic read full of danger and desire which is absolutely impossible to put down. Rhenna Morgan can always be relied upon to deliver a captivating page-turner that will hold readers spellbound and Hers to Tame is certainly no different.

A fabulous contemporary romance that brilliantly balances high-stakes passion with nerve-twisting suspense, Hers to Tame is another winner from Rhenna Morgan’s gifted and talented pen.
