Wyoming Special Delivery by Melissa Senate is the second book in the Dawson Family Ranch series. I have to admit, I have not read the first book in the series, but now that I have read this novel, I have bought the previous novel.

Daisy Dawson has had a busy day and to top it off, she is in labor beside a rural road and does not have a phone to call for help. Luckily a passerby, stops to help her. He calls for help, but ends up delivering her baby. He is Harrison McCord, a man Daisy has yet to meet even though he is staying at her family’s ranch Dawson Family Guest Ranch. Even more upsetting, when Daisy finds out, he believes that he owns her family’s guest ranch.

I enjoyed the story and found myself wanting to know what happens to the rest of the family. Luckily this is a series and I will find out - when the next books - come out. Wyoming Special Delivery by Melissa Senate was a good read.

Melissa Senate is a new author to me and I was gripped by the title of this novel.

I wanted something romantic and heartfelt, and this is just what Wyoming Special Delivery was. Daisy, a pregnant bride jilted at the altar, and Harrison a stranger coming to her rescue.

Harrrison is convinced he’s the real owner of Daisy’s family ranch. So there’s plenty of conflict. But why is he really there in the first place?

The way Daisy is jilted was clever, unexpected and well woven into the plot. There’s some clean romance (no sex) and I loved the similarities that I saw with Billie Letts’ novel Where the Heart Is: rural location, pregnant lady helped out by a handsome stranger and a baby coming quickly.

The writing is engaging and quick. Small details enrich the story at just the right moments to perfectly help the pacing.

I didn’t want this to end!

4 stars.

Thanks to Melissa Senate and Harlequin Special Edition for my ARC in exchange for an honest and voluntary review.

Wyoming Special Delivery by Melissa Senate was a fun contemporary romance read! The Dawson family is a group of characters that kept the entertainment alive and engaging. I enjoyed the craziness that came with this book. Harrison came in just at the right moment for Daisy only to deliver bad news. But Daisy is hopeful for things to work out. It seemed unreal on how easy she went from one moment to the next the way she did. I was hoping for more of a fight on her part. With that said, this story kept me on my toes.

Melissa Senate writes heart-warming small-town contemporary romances that never fail to lift my mood and touch my heart and Wyoming Special Delivery is a poignant, dramatic and engrossing read that I just could not put down.

Daisy Dawson was meant to be marrying the father of her unborn child – the pregnant bride certainly never imagined that she would be jilted at the altar in front of all her family and friends or that she would end up giving birth on the side of the road! While Daisy is glad to get rid of a man so spineless that he didn’t have the guts to tell her to her face that he wanted to break things off, she takes comfort from the fact that at least she got a beautiful baby boy out of this relationship who will be her pride and joy. Daisy had been grateful and relieved that Harrison McCord had happened to be driving by and had stepped into the breach and helped her out in her hour of need. There is something very mysterious about the Dawson Family Ranch’s latest house guest. He had booked a family sized cabin which he is occupying by himself, has never got on a horse despite booking a stay at a ranch and has thus far kept himself to himself. Daisy cannot help but wonder just what he is hiding – however when she discovers the real reason why he is in Wyoming, she realizes that she could stand to lose everything close to her heart because of this man!

Harrison had come to Wyoming and to the Dawson Family Ranch because he believes to be the rightful owner of this homestead and he is not about to back down without a fight. Harrison wants this ranch and he will do whatever it takes to get it. However, he certainly never imagined that he would find himself delivering a baby on the side of the road – or that he would find himself drawn to Daisy Dawson. Harrison couldn’t believe that Daisy had been about to throw her life away by marrying a man who wasn’t right for her. Still, he must not get involved because emotions will only complicate matters and he simply cannot afford any kind of distraction – not when he is this close to get his hands on the ranch. His head might be telling him to keep things strictly business-like with Daisy, but his heart on the other hand refuses to listen to reason as the more time he spends in her company, the more he finds himself falling for her.

Duty to her family is telling Daisy not to trust Harrison, but that hasn’t stopped her from tumbling madly into love with him. With so much to lose and all these obstacles standing in their way, can Daisy and Harrison find a way to be together? Or is there simply too much keeping them apart?

Melissa Senate has done it again and penned an irresistible, tender, emotional and captivating read that I absolutely adored. Daisy is a wonderful heroine you cannot help but admire and root for and Harrison is a strong and brooding hero I just couldn’t resist.

Wyoming Special Delivery is a tale of second chances, unexpected surprises, healing from the past and the magic of love from an exceptionally talented writer: Melissa Senate.

Daisy Dawson who is nine months pregnant, finds herself left at the altar and runs out of the church not knowing which way she should go. She soon is on a backroad with no cell phone and in labour. Could this day get any worse? Her luck is turns around though when a handsome stranger who is a guest at her families ranch stops and helps deliver Daisy’s baby. There is something about him though that has Daisy curious.

Harrison McCord is driving down a back road when he spots a woman in a wedding dress clearly in distress. After he helps her deliver her baby, he can’t help but feel a little guilty for what he is about to tell her and her family.

Harrison is the rightful owner of the Dawson family ranch and he will not be swayed by pretty Daisy Dawson and her adorable little baby boy to let her family keep the ranch. Daisy on the other hand thinks that if Harrison knows how much the ranch means to her and her family, he will change his mind. Daisy is out to protect her family just as Harrison is out to keep a promise to his father. Will Daisy be able to win over Harrison? Will Harrison have the heart to take what is rightfully his?

I loved the banter and the growing friendship between Harrison and Daisy. The author Melissa Senate did a great job of weaving family, forgiveness and love all into the story seamlessly. Even though this is the second book in the “Dawson Family Ranch” series, the author does an awesome job of filling in the previous characters so that it can be read as a stand a lone novel. I enjoyed the story and I look forward to the next book in the series. Thank you to Harlequin, Melissa Senate and NetGalley for an advanced copy of the book to read and review.

Daisy Dawson is angry and perhaps a bit embarrassed. She pregnant and about to walk down the aisle. However, a phone call changes everything. There will be no wedding.

She is driving down the road and in utter frustration over everything, especially after rereading her almost husband's text that she throws her phone out of the window. Daisy was not even sure where she was going, but she had to blow off some steam.

Suddenly her car stalls and there is no one in site. She can't even call for help. Daisy really begins to panic when she begins having labor pains - consistent and painful. Daisy's family owns a ranch and one of their guests sees her on the road. What a blessing! Harrison McCord cannot believe that he was just in time to help Daisy, and that he was able to deliver her son.

Daisy is more than grateful for being able to safely deliver her baby. She feels indebted to Harrison. Harrison knows that her warm feelings will not last for very long, because he is there to tell her and her brothers that is is actually the rightful owner of their family ranch. Harrison hates that he has to deliver this bad news, but he has proof and now the Dawson family will lose their legacy.

Not so fast. Daisy has a plan. Will she be able to convince Harrison to let her family keep the ranch? Also, that feeling she gets when she is around him? What about that? She just had a baby, and is actually kind of relieved that she didn't get married. Having romantic feelings for Harrison makes no sense. Especially with it being right after having her baby, and the fact that he intends on taking away all of their hard work to make their ranch beautiful and profitable.

I love Daisy and her family. They share a very strong bond and reading this book gave me a warm feeling. I also enjoyed Daisy's pleasant personality and her kindness. Harrison had me worried for a minute, but he was also very easy to love in this story. It was wonderful that this was a sweet story. It is really nice to read a book where emotions play high while a romance is being built.

I wasn't aware that this is the second book in the Dawson Family Ranch series, but that did not stop me from truly enjoying this book as it did quite well as a standalone. I do want to read any upcoming books in the series. It will be nice to see Daisy's brothers find love.

Many thanks to Harlequin Special Edition and to NetGalley for this ARC for review. This is my honest opinion.

It’s her wedding day! Nine months and pregnant, Daisy Dawson is getting ready to be married. The only thing missing is the groom. After getting dumped via text, Daisy runs as far away from home as she can get. However, it’s definitely not her day when she goes into labor on the side of the road.

Harrison McCord jumps into action when he sees Daisy in labor. He delivers the baby on the side of the road. The delivery brings Harrison and Daisy close, but when Daisy learns he’s really there to take her family’s ranch from them, she’s not all that enamored. Although, she can’t help but have some feelings for the man who delivered her son.

This is a heartwarming, sweet romance. It’s the second book in the Dawson Family Ranch Series but I absolutely did not have to read the first book in the series to enjoy this one. The author gives quite a bit of information so readers know what happened previously, but I don’t even think that was necessary as this story is contained in this book. (However, I already purchased the first book because I want to read it first hand myself.)

I loved the characters in this book. Our hero and heroine, Harrison and Daisy, have their flaws but they are both genuinely nice people you can root for. I could actually understand both of their point of views.

It’s been a long time since I read a Harlequin Special Edition but I quickly gobbled this one up. It’s a “feel good” type of romance that warms the heart. I’ll definitely be there for the next book in the series. Daisy has quite a few brothers and I just know each of them have their happily-ever-after story.

Wyoming Special Delivery is a fun bit of fluff that's great for a weekend read. From Daisy's almost wedding to her less than desired delivery to the terms surrounding Harrison's presence, not much about this one is realistic, and some parts do stretch the believability scale completely out of shape, but it is entertaining, and Daisy is a hoot, believable or not. Basically, if you're looking for a realistic romance with all the angst that goes along with it, this isn't it. But, if you're in the mood for an entertaining clean romance that's maybe a little over the top but fun nonetheless, this is a good bet.

On the day of what should've been a great one her wedding day, Daisy comes to find shes been left at the alter. Even worse her baby seems to be wanting to sooner then expected while shes on the road. Luckily Harrison finds her and helps deliver her baby but unfortunately theres a reason he's in the area and that's to claim the land that Daisy and her family owns as his own with a questionable but legal note switching ownership. Daisy is now on a mission for him to keep this land.

If you are looking for a cute contemporary romance you'll enjoy this book. Man! Daisy just couldn't catch a break things went from bad to worse and managed to still be upbeat and work on her circumstances. She fought for what she wanted and when Harrison gave her the news she didn't let it keep her down and really fight. She did what she could in trying to convince Harrison that she and her family should keep the baby. I loved watching the sweetness and romance bloom between the two. Clearly this wasn't the intention with the couple but it was sure nice to see how it turned out. Overall nice little contemporary book, I really enjoyed it.

I've read a few of Melissa Senate's books in the past (mainly chick lit titles) and enjoyed them, so to say that I was disappointed with "Wyoming Special Delivery" might be something of an understatement. I apologize in advance if this write-up comes off as more of a rant than a review, but I had a lot of thoughts as I was reading, and not many of them were positive.

The story did not start off well when it became clear that the female lead character, Daisy Dawson, was very impulsive and seemingly not very bright. At almost 9 months pregnant, she throws a tantrum after getting left at the altar (by a man she didn't even love or particularly want to marry!) and decides that her best choice is to run away from her family's ranch in rural Wyoming, driving a crappy old Honda and without her cell phone because she has just thrown it out the window in a fit of temper. This is obviously a recipe for disaster, so predictably, her car not only breaks down, but she goes into labor too. Luckily for Daisy, despite the fact that she's stranded on a rural service road, a handsome stranger just happens to come along almost immediately, and he actually stops to help her. In another near miracle, she delivers the baby on the side of the road after only 5 or so contractions (lucky her!). (Really? The author couldn't even have thrown in one line about how Daisy's back had been killing her all day or something to make this even a little bit more believable?) My favorite part was that Daisy never made even a token protest about a strange man diving under her skirt without asking permission and cutting off her underwear. Nor is she even a little bit embarrassed about him having seen her lady parts when she sees him at the hospital later. Yes, she was giving birth at the time and it was an emergency, but still.

A day or so later, Daisy comes home with her newborn, Tony, and basically proceeds with her pre-baby life exactly as it was before, only with an infant strapped to her chest. Sorry, but life with a newborn is not that easy, especially as a single mother, no matter how much family support you may have. It's exhausting, and she should have been sore from the birth, but yet somehow she manages to take multiple long walks around the ranch AND host dinner parties AND help her BFF with the guests' breakfast service so she can whine about her feelings for the hottie who wants to take the ranch away from her family. WOMAN, WHY ARE YOU NOT AT HOME SITTING ON AN ICE PACK AND NAPPING WHEN THE BABY NAPS?? Oh, and supposedly she's breastfeeding, but she's still able to leave the baby for hours at a time at only 3 or 4 days postpartum. Really? A lot of newborns want to eat almost constantly, both because they're still figuring out how to do it and because they have very small tummies. When exactly did Daisy have the time to pump and freeze a stash of breast milk (though I guess she could be substituting formula) and train the baby to take a bottle?

In addition to being a new mom, Daisy is also dealing with the fact that Harrison McCord wants to take possession of her family's ranch because of a bet her father supposedly lost to his father 10 years ago. Since Harrison is a guest of the ranch for the next 5 days, Daisy decides that she is going to use that time to convince him to like her and her family so that he will decide to let them keep the ranch. Unfortunately for her, this plan ends up backfiring somewhere along the way, and she falls in love with him. Really? Talk about insta-love, and with the man trying to take away your home, no less. Let's not forget that Daisy was just left at the altar a few days ago, too! Oh, and Daisy must have superhuman healing powers, because at 3 days postpartum she's able to straddle Harrison's lap so they can make out. (Meanwhile I'm having sympathy pains just thinking about it.)

As for Harrison and his half-baked scheme to take the ranch from Daisy's family, I have major doubts about whether his claim would hold up in court. Harrison's father saw the ranch 10 years ago and refused to collect on the bet at that time. What makes Harrison think that a signed napkin would constitute a valid agreement now? Harrison's father's previous refusal to collect on the bet could very well make such an agreement null and void. Beyond that, it makes zero sense for Harrison to go down this path. Who is he really punishing? Both his father and Daisy's are gone, and his aunt is on her deathbed. It seems like he should just let bygones be bygones.

Overall, if the main part of this story had taken place even a month or 6 weeks later than it did to give Daisy a chance to recover from Tony's birth, I might have been able to get past some (but not all) of these issues. Unfortunately, it just doesn't seem like a lot of the story's details were very well thought out. As a result, I can't recommend it.

Left at the Altar

Daisy Dawson, nine months pregnant, is set to marry the baby’s father, but as it gets later and later and no groom, she begins to worry. Then comes the phone call. Her prospective groom, doesn’t really love her and can’t face the marriage. Angry and humiliated, Daisy takes off. She’s so angry she throws her cell phone out the car window, rips off her veil, and goes.

Then on a deserted country road, her baby decides to make an appearance. Daisy has no way to get help until Harrison McCord, the handsome stranger staying at the Dawson Ranch in Cabin 1, pulls up and helps deliver the baby. Daisy is incredibly grateful until Harrison gathers the Dawson clan and tells them what he’s there for.

Ten years ago Daisy’s father lost the ranch on a bet. With his father dead, Harrison is now there to claim his inheritance. The Dawson brothers want to take legal action, but Daisy thinks maybe there’s another way if she can make Harrison see how much the ranch means to the family.

This is a gentle love story in which the characters grow and come to accept their need for each other. There are no sex scenes, just a romance that will pull you in and make you root for their happiness. This is the second book in the Dawson Family Ranch Series, but it works as a standalone. The author does a good job of filling in the important details from the previous book.

I received this book from Harlequin for this review.

Well I very much enjoyed this book. It is a good and fun story with a lot of love but no sex scenes so if you enjoy romance books with no sex then I think you will love this one.

I give this 4 out of 5.

Who is Daisy Dawson? Who are Jacob, Zeke, Ford, Axel, Rex, Noah, and Harrison? How does she know each of them? Wow, once I got into this book, my thoughts and emotions ping-ponged all over the place with why Harrison had checked in as a guest. Watching how Daisy was torn apart in multiple ways made my eyes tear up for her. Will things ultimately be made right, or will death-bed requests take precedence? Read and see what happens!

WYOMING SPECIAL DELIVERY (Dawson Family Ranch Book #2) by Melissa Senate is a contemporary romance and the newest addition to the Dawson Family Ranch series. This story can easily be read as a standalone, but it was so engaging that now I want to read about all the Dawson siblings.

Daisy Dawson is abandoned at the alter and decides to leave on her own to her honeymoon hotel, but on the way her car breaks down and her baby decides it is time to be born. Stuck on the side of the road and in labor, the mystery man from Cabin 1 comes along just in time to help deliver Daisy’s baby. She cannot thank him enough, until she returns home and finds out why he is on the ranch.

Harrison McCord has come to settle a ten-year-old score for his deceased father and terminally ill aunt. He is the rightful owner of the Dawson Family Ranch. When Daisy returns, Harrison gets the family together and tells them his reason for being on the ranch. The family is ready and willing to fight him in court, but Daisy has another plan.

Can Daisy show Harrison what the ranch has meant to the Dawson family for generations and help him change his mind about his father’s last request? Will Harrison be able to keep this as strictly business and not let his growing feelings for Daisy and her baby interfere with his decisions?

This is a cozy romance with no sex scenes, but a lot of love. The romance happens quickly with a lot of emotional ups and downs. I enjoy how Ms. Senate gave both Harrison and Daisy valid points of views and sides in the feud that had to be worked out for the HEA. This was an enjoyable read, but for me this plot would have been more realistic over a longer timeline.

I will be anxiously waiting for Daisy’s brothers’ stories and hoping they find all the love that Daisy wishes for them too.

As usual Melissa gives her readers what the ask for. Love the stories with kids in them. Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for allowing such wonderful stories.

Things have gone from bad to worse for Daisy Dawson since we last met her in For The Twins Sake. Melissa Senate isn't making anything easy on her! Ready to marry her almost born baby's daddy, she finds herself missing a groom. Angry, scared and sad, she storms away from the ranch,, only to find herself alone and in labor with no phone or way to get help.

Harrison McCord was at the Dawson Family Ranch on pretenses. He was there to take his inheritance, Daisy's family ranch. What he wasn't planning on was delivering Daisy's baby on the side of the road or falling for the beautifully broken, but incredibly strong, woman.

Harrison is now faced with a dilemma; pull another rug out from under Daisy and her newborn or walk away and leave the Dawson's alone. Driven by his father's last wishes, he comes clean to Daisy and her brother about why he's there.

Daisy doesn't take it well! she's determined to show Harrison that when her father bet the ranch, it wasn't what it is today. Long walks on the ranch, dinner dates, and time spent with Harrison's dying aunt, slowly helps Harrison see the bigger picture.

While Daisy tries to save the ranch, she's also falling for Harrison, even though she wants to hate him. Daisy has a way to sense when someone is hurting and Harrison is hurting. He lost his father recently and when his aunt passes, he will be alone in this world.

Harrison and Daisy's love story is slow, gentle, and fraught with so many issues that you're sure they'll never find their way together. Daisy is a new mom raising another man's baby, and Harrison is adrift from everything he knows. One thing he knows for sure. he loves Baby Tony and he loves Daisy Dawson. He decides if she still has the capacity to love someone that hard after everything she's been through, then he can, too.

Wyoming Special Delivery is a wonderful second chance-ish type story for Daisy and draws you deeper into the lives of all of the Dawson's. I can't wait to read the stories of Daisy's brothers to see if Daisy's dream of having them all on the ranch comes true! I give Wyoming Special Delivery five stars!
