Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the chance to read and review this picture book.

This book is very cute! I love the illustrations. The story of a picky flamingo kid is something I think a lot of kids will relate to.

A flamingo who doesn't want to eat shrimp. Her parents are trying all they can. Me and my son really enjoyed this book. Learning about flamingos and how they get their color as well as trying new things can mean learning that you like them.

Super cute story about picky eaters! I like the illustrations for the story. I think it's written great for a parent to read to a kid or for a kid to read on their own. I think the point of the story is very clear but not too pushy!

I received a copy of this arc from NetGalley for an honest review. A great picture book about a fussy flamingo that wants to eat anything but shrimp. Each time her parents look away she tries a new fruit and can't hide it because she turns that color. A funny book that kids will like and they can predict what will happen a great early literacy skill.

In this book we see how a flamingo has to try new things and learn how much trying something can be good not bad despite the anxiety of trying something new with bold vibrant art to illustrate the story it was a read that with teach little ones too.

Many thanks to the publishers for allowing me to review this book for them!

An overall enjoyable book, with delightful illustrations. I just found the text to be a bit choppy and lacking... I’m not sure if a young reader would understand that Lola was being a picky eater, by the way the story was going at the beginning. Having a picky eater myself, I can enjoy the message the book is sending - and can only hope it will aid in helping my own ‘Fussy Flamingo’!

This about Lola, a fussy eater. She does not like the shrimp her parents eat and goes out to try other foods. She then turns different colors. It was odd that this promotes sameness and constantly eating the same thing.

I may be biased because of flamingos, but this one was too darn cute! I loved Lola dilly-ing and dawdle-ing and then sneaking off to eat new and adventurous foods! I think kids will have a ball with this book, and it would make for a super cute storytime with related crafts. The end of the book offers some quick Flamingo Facts with websites for additional info-I liked this.

Thanks netgalley!

A cute read-aloud that incorporates picky eating into a fun and charming story. A strength of this story is that, from a school librarian perspective, the learning and discussion points are pretty versatile, For example, reading this in a lesson, we could talk about trying new things, colors, word repetition, flamingos, etc. I also really love the colors and style of the illustrations which adds to the quirkiness of this cute little picky-eater of a flamingo. I do feel that the ending was a bit abrupt and, realistically, it may take a bit more convincing for a real-life picky eater to accept a new food but overall the story is fun and I look forward to reading it in our school library.

So cute. A perfect read aloud. I love a book in which I can hear the characters’ voices in my head as I read. It would be hard not to hear this flamingo family. My only issue was that I felt the resolution came too quickly. As the father of a daughter who is even pickier than this fussy flamingo, I know it’s not that easy. But this book is cute, and I always love facts at the end so kids can learn a little.
