The author's painstaking research and attention to detail is obvious in the writing of this book. The author laid out the information in a manner that allowed the reader to form their own opinion.

I received this ARC back in January but haven't had the chance to read it until today and was afraid that in the wake of these recent events that our nation has been experiencing, this book would be irrelevant and the revolution discussed in the book would be obsolete. But it is not the case. I recommend all Americans to read this book which explains why U.S. citizens have been failing our country so many years and it helps us understand what it is we can do to change things. Very informative! I will make a note to read it again in four years so I can see if anything changed as far as social injustice and equal opportunity are concerned.

This book provides a great starting point for the voter who is seeking to do the right thing in the 2020 election. It focuses on two major pitfalls, voter apathy and the corrupting influence of money. Through several chapters, the book provides questions and ideas voters can use to figure out what candidates think about these issues as well as health care, information privacy, income inequality, etc. The list goes on and is a bit tedious to provide here. It is an easy-to-read, one-source guide for voters who seek one or need something to help them figure out the candidate to choose, so they will not spend time or pin wheels researching information. They can use this book as a starting point to research areas of interest to them. The upcoming election is an important one, because it will decide our future. Knowledgeable voters are a must.

This provides a pretty good overview of what a voter needs to know/be aware of for the next election. As I said, I can provide one source for the voter or can provide areas where the voter wants to do more research. The one big problem I had with it is that, though it reads easily, a lot of the time, it also reads like a textbook (and can put you to sleep as easy as any textbook). There is a wealth of information and ideas in the book, all of which will interest any reader who votes. It has been published early enough to provide assistance to anyone seeking it. I received this from NetGalley to read and review.

The author says this book is non-partisan, and he tries really hard...for a little while...to keep it that way. However, a person can only hide their true face for so long, and the book is decidedly partisan. He posits several fantastic ideas - most of which have been proposed at least once, if not many times, before - but doesn't really give any plans or methods for making those ideas into realities. The questions he proposes we ask politicians running for office are fairly generic, plus you'd be hard-pressed to find one who answers all, or even most, the way that you'd prefer...not if they're being honest. Overall, this book didn't live up to the hype, and I wouldn't give it to a young person (the seeming target audience) who is preparing to vote for the first time.
