this was a fun read, the premise was interesting and I enjoyed getting to know Lora in this book. The only problem that I had was that I hadn't read the first book but I still enjoyed reading this.

There was a lot of romantic triangle angst in the first 40%. At times the dad was forgotten and only the twins and Lora were mentioned. It was confusing at times and things seemed confusing. Also statements that sound absolutely resolute, but how would the characters know that not having all the information? Why did people assume they were safe all the time, when through this whole series it has been a fight for survival. Syeth seems to be the only one who looks at the situations objectively and he gets a lot of flack, but he helped them survive. The situation in the gas station, that lady would have searched regardless, and they would have been caught. The fire? Was it a trap? I don't know but if they wanted to take them out they could have done something other than destroy tons of land with an unpredictable fire.

About 60% through it really started to pick up and sped towards the ending. It probably just me but it bothers me how Lora jumps to conclusions and states it like a fact. Other times she acts like she can't remember, or is having trouble doing so. This is weird since she is known for a having a perfect memory.

Overall it was a good book. Would I recommend it? Yes, it was a good read but I would try to get it through the library I don't know if you would read it over and over again.

I received an advance reader copy in exchange for a fair review. These opinions are my own.

I thoroughly enjoyed this sequel. It had plenty of twists and turns to stay interesting and it wasn't too science fiction-y, so I think this series would be able to hold the interest of readers whether they are science fiction fans or not. This is definitely a book you don't want to miss out on.

I really enjoyed this story, it has lots of twists and turns and is full of mystery. It’s well written and has wonderful world building, the characters are well developed and likeable. An intstory with lots of action, not too much confusion science and it’s a great series, I look forward to reading more
