This book has a lot of potential and reading it was very interesting, the author obviously loves travel and loves to share his stories of travel with readers. However, the issues came with the coherence of this book and following it. As a piece of writing it doesn’t fill as cohesive as I expected, there isn’t much connecting each little travel story to the next, and there aren’t real transitions making it difficult to read at times. Sometimes it feels like it’s just jumping around and perhaps it should’ve been organized differently or maybe more transitions written between the pieces to make them cohesive and flow better. Overall I think this author definitely has some good stories to tell from his travels and I’m curious to see if he keeps writing in the future.

Credit to the author for getting his travel tales down on paper, then actually published. A great achievement.

However, they are just not that interesting. A random collection, very incoherent, and nothing to draw the reader in.

I was disappointed.

Wasn't quite the right fit for me. Interesting though. Writing not bad.

Thanks Netgalley for this arc.

This writer will have a lot of travel anecdotes to tell on a party or around a bonfire. And obviously he likes to travel, that becomes clear with this book and I applaud his enthousiasm and willingness to share his experiences with armchair travelers who will not get to go to all the places he has visisited. Unfortunately the anecdote part is what makes this book hard to read for me and I have to admit to skimming certain chapters and reading only those parts that interest me at the moment. There was no good flow and it all felt a bit like stories thrown together in a chapter because it was about the same part of the world. Interesting premise, not so good in execution.

This is quite good. The author has a good sense of humor, and obviously enjoys traveling. He does a good job of keeping things interesting with good descriptions and appropriate details. If you're a travel book fan (or even if you're not) you're likely to enjoy this.

I really appreciate the ARC for review!!

Wow. Couldn't follow this book. Jumped from place to place, seemingly stream of conciousness writing. Not for me. Don't want to punish the author for my lack of interest, so won't be posting a review at any of my usual sites.

I actually had a fairly hard time following along in this book. I found it to be very abstract with the authors thoughts, and many of the sentences to be incomplete or truncated. It just seemed to be a jumble of thoughts written into paragraphs.

I feel a little bad about this review because I truly love stories about travel. However, this one just felt far too informal (like I was sitting on the front porch with an elderly relative regaling his experiences as they pop into his memory). In my opinion, there was a lack of quality of editing.

Could not get into this book at all. Well, written, but boring. Couldn’t get far enough into the book to even figure out what it was about.
