Reid and Eve’s story. This is book 3 of 4 brothers, but the first I’ve read. A fun romp, and made me chuckle, although his immaturity made me wonder what she saw in him. Still though, a quick easy read that was enjoyable. Highly recommend this book.

This was my first Meghan Quinn book and now I really want to read more. This is such an enjoyable book. This is the third book in the series but is definitely a stand alone and so I had no problem following the story.

I loved the family and their relationship in this story they were fun to read about but this is the story of Eve and Reid.
Eve has a twin brother Eric who is Reids best friend. Reid and Eric have a falling put because of a failed business adventure and so Reid moves back home where he starts to fall for Eve. Because of the falling out between Reid and Eric they try to keep things secret.

A good book with so much drama and secrets.

This is my favourite book in the series to date! I wasn't sure if I was going to like Reid but from the very beginning of the book, I fell for him big time! Eve is one lucky lady.

Both Reid and Eve grew up in Port Snow, as did her twin brother Eric. Reid and Eric hit it off and became fast best friends and Eve was their shadow. She was there to make sure they didn't do anything silly. Fast forward ten years and things are very different. After a failed attempt at owning and running a business together, Reid and Eric are not as communicative as they once were and Reid is back in Port Snow living his lesser life. Eve is also still in their home town, finishing off a degree in Business and working indirectly with Reid the fisherman. After a snowy night and a few shots, the crush that Reid has had for Eve goes to the next level.

What I loved most about this couple is life wasn't always easy but these two complimented each other perfectly. Reid was adorable with his banter and sexy flirty mouth. He also was the most loyal man that would give up his own dreams to make others happy. I have never believed in needing a man to fulfil my life, I feel we can all cope with living by ourselves, but when you find that person that doesn't just complete you, they bring out the very best in you, you will want to hang on to them with both hands. That's the kind of love Reid and Eve have. Takes them a while to realise it, but it was amazing to read along and watch them discover it. Their story is very authentic and there are definitely some funny moments. I was snorting and giggling just as much as Eve was. I can not wait for the helicoptering dancing queens book which is up next. Brig has some big shoes to fill and I am excited to see this super romantic guy get his HEA.

Moody Reid finally has a purpose. After a failed restaurant with his BF Eric he shut down. Eve, Eric’s twin, has crushed on Reid forever. That dang curse from New Orleans is not going to stop him from finding love, with Eve. Love the sassy email threads with his siblings, the no holds barred conversations and quirky small town antics. Just waiting on Brig to find his love. My copy came through Netgalley, review provided voluntarily.

4 1/2 "Cuddly" Stars...

I think I've said it before....I really want to visit Port Snow and meet these people!! The Knightly family (including their significant others) has stolen my heart and Ms. Quinn has written them in a way that I really feel like I know them all.

That Secret Crush gives Reid his shot at love and he tries really hard to mess it up not just once...but several times. Reid has been battling self esteem issues for years. Basically, ever since he and his best friend, Eric had to close their popular Boston restaurant when their business manager stole ALL of their money and disappeared, leaving their restaurant bankrupt. Reid has simply been living a simple and unfulfilled existence until he decides to give in to his long time crush on Eve. Eve just happens to be Eric's twin sister and she had been off limits for as long as Reid could remember. However, since he and Eric haven't really been in contact much since they closed the restaurant, it seemed like it wouldn't be an issue and it wasn't until Eric moves back to town.

It took Reid a while to grow on me. He is definitely insecure and because of that he tends to make everything in their relationship about sex. Apparently he's quite well-endowed and knows what to do with it so he leans on that to feel like what he and Eve have is good. That works for a while but at some point, Eve really wants him to open up and talk to her. I think that's the whole point of the "curse" the brothers are all supposedly under. Supposedly, they will break it when they become "mature enough"... So, once Reid gets it together and knows how to function in a mature, adult relationship that doesn't just revolve around sex, he'll find his happily-ever-after. He has to hope Eve will still be interested by the time he figures it all out.

I've enjoyed each brother's story. They are all different and unique - just like in any family. I love how Ms. Quinn lets them all have their own personalities and it flows into the storyline so effortlessly. This is a great series. It's fun and I find myself laughing as I read it quite often. I know I've mentioned it in other reviews but I absolutely love the scenes where the brothers and their sister are in a family text message and giving each other trouble. Oh my, it's hilarious!

You can read each one of these books as a standalone but, I definitely do feel like my reading experience is enriched by the fact that I've read them all.

Thank you to NetGalley and Montlake for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

5 - "Big dick and likes to cuddle… Wow." Stars!

That Secret Crush is the third book in the Getting Lucky series, but the first book I have read by Meghan Quinn, and I know it’s only February, but it’s the best book I have read so far this year.

I loved Reid and Eve, they were such a great couple, the sexy times were plentiful and imaginative, and their verbal sparring entertaining, both of their strong characters complimented the other and the story-line worked really well around their relationship developing.

"Hitting on you was the smartest decision I ever made."

I have to say that the group texts between the Knightly siblings were absolutely stellar, so, so funny I was laughing my head off at points, I adored Brig so cannot wait for his book (which is believe is up next <3) and Amazon must have sensed how much I loved this book because the first two are 99p at the time of writing this review, so you can guess what I’ll be doing the next couple of days!

This may have been my first read by Meghan Quinn, but it absolutely won’t be my last, I cannot wait to read more by her (old & new) over the coming months.

My favorite Knightly book yet! Following these brothers and this town has been entertaining to say the least. They've been convinced a curse was placed on them and this time it was Reid's story. You know with a Meghan Quinn book it's typically funny, well written and characters you want to know and fall in love with are everywhere. This was no exception.

Reid and Eve have known each other practically their entire lives as Reid and Eric, her twin, are best friends. Both secretly crushed on each other but the friend code says hands off. I really liked getting in Reid's head and getting to know Eve. She was strong and independent which is what he needed after failing at his dream. I would have liked to see more of his relationship with Eric explored though since it was important to the story. Maybe he'll get a book one day too?

I can't wait for Brig's book next!

Okay, I have a huge confession. I’ve followed Meghan Quinn and her adorable family on Instagram for a couple of years now, but this is the first book I’ve read of hers, and I’m kicking myself because of it! Few books have made me laugh during the entire freaking time, I mean honestly, in doctors offices, in the car while carpooling with my husband, at work during a break, on the couch after work, seriously, every page brought forth some kind of hysterical humor between Reid and Eve, and I freaking loved it. Loved the passion and chemistry between these two, loved the constant banter they had, the compassion they shared, loved the entire Knightly clan, and loved the setting in Port Snow. Long books that keep you entertained throughout are high on my favorite list, and this marks off every single thing on that list. I now need to go back and read the first two books in this series, because I have a feeling I’ve missed out on something pretty special. Very well written, flows easily throughout the entire book, and leaves you with the warm and fuzzies. Can’t ask for much more than that. Read it, you won’t be sorry!

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book.

4.5 star review of That Secret Crush (Getting Lucky #3) by Meghan Quinn

Meghan Quinn had me invested from the first to the last page. I adore stories based in small towns and through the author’s writing I can easily see myself in Port Snow.

This is Reid Knightly and Eve Roberts story and one that I couldn’t put down. Both have always had a crush on one another but circumstances have not given them the opportunity to act.

The camaraderie between Reid and his brothers really adds another layer to the story that Ms. Quinn weaves.
I fell hard and fast for Reid Knightly, although he certainly needed to work on his issues. Reid is a charismatic hero that I couldn't help but like. I loved how independent, feisty and sassy Eve was; she held her own and wasn’t afraid to call Reid out.

The chemistry between Reid and Eve was intense and hot. There was also humour and laughter which was heartwarming although there were also moments that had my heart breaking at times.

What will happen when lines are crossed? Will their friendship be destroyed or could this be the start of something special?
Looking forward to seeing where Ms. Quinn takes us next.

I received a copy from the publisher via Netgalley.

This is fairly steamy book so if that isn't for you think again.

Reid and Eric had a restaurant business together but it was all destroyed when their business manager stole all their money It not only destroyed their business but also the friendship between Eric and Reid. Reid headed back to their hometown to work for his family business and four years later he is still in that rut. Eve is Eric's twin sister and has always had a crush on Reid but never wanted to risk her friendship with him so never acted on it but now Reid has made a move on her Do they have a chance together. All together a great read and my first introduction to this authors work

Meghan has done it again with these Knightly brothers!
Everytime i read their books i declare i have a new favourite brother and then the next one comes and it happens all over again.
Admittedly it took me a while to get into but that was more my fault, i had the attention span of a gnat so i couldn't concentrate on reading but then i turned on airplane mode and just stuck it out and away i went. I couldn't stop!
Reid and Eve have such a beautiful relationship, Reid was hilarious and had my sort of sense of humour, everything becomes sexual with the jokes.
Eve, she was great, very strong and not afraid to say whats on her mind.
I really loved this book and all the others but i can't deny I'm absolutely dying for Brigs' book!

Thank you Netgalley for this book!

I didn’t know what to expect from “The Secret Crush” but overall, it left me less than interested in reading any other book in the series.

I’ve one or two other books from this author and thought this would be novel worth reading but really, it was a bit too smutty and lacked depth. I realize asking for depth from a romance novel may seem odd but I’ve read plenty that offer it!

Overall, I would skip this book unless you simply desire one sex scene after another.

After Reid and his best friend Eric had to close the up and coming restaurant they built due to trusting the wrong person he returned to his hometown and is struggling to find a new purpose in his life. He spends his days catching fish and selling them to the Inn were Eve works and then spends the rest of the day helping out at the family business to make ends meet.

Eve hasn’t had an easy time of it either however she has made the best of a bad situation. She was not only there to assist her parents when they passed away, but she accepted the fact that her share of the inheritance was lost with the restaurant that Reid and Eric closed. Between working and school, she doesn’t have much time for anything else.

One night changes everything and now they are much more than friends but life isn’t always easy so when the past resurfaces and they must decide if what they have is strong enough to withstand the storm. Eve was strong and resilient while Reid was letting his past control his present, but they are exactly what each other needs. It is always fun to visit Port Snow and catch up with the Knightley clan and this book was no exception.

I thoroughly enjoyed this latest book in the Getting Lucky series! This is Reid and Eve's story. They both secretly had crushes on each other since grade school but since Eve is Reid's best friend, Eric's little sister she's been off limits forever. As friend they joke around and flirt a bit but that's all until it turns into more. Since Reid and Eric has a serious falling out three years ago, they rarely see each other and don't talk much so dating Eve doesn't seem so bad until Eric comes back into their lives. Loved the humor between the brothers and the feisty sexy relationship between Eve and Reid. Can't wait for the next book in this series!

That Secret Crush is the third in the series about the four study Knightly brothers who believe that their love lives were cursed by a fortune teller during one drunken night in New Orleans. Brother number three, Reid, has had a secret crush on his best friend’s twin sister since they were teenagers, but he always knew that Eve was forbidden.

Even has given up a lot so that her twin brother Eric could live his dreams. Now that she is close to graduating from college, she feels like it is finally her turn to live the life that she wants. With an luck, that life will also include her secret crush, Reid. When they finally connect as more than friends for the first time, they are both very happy.

Things change when Eric returns home and loses it when he finds out that his sister and best friend are in a relationship. Can Eve and Reid find a way to make things work or will the curse take hold?

That Secret Crush is the third book in Meghan Quinn’s Getting Lucky series and is my second least favourite so far. I liked the overall premise of the story, but I found certain aspects overdone and detrimental to the storyline. Don’t get me wrong, profanity definitely doesn’t bother me (the “F” word is one I use far too regularly. LOL), but it did seem to be the primary dialogue far too often. And I also found Reid’s character lacking. Yes, he had issues to overcome, but it took far too long for his character to develop. This isn’t a bad story, it’s just not what I was hoping for as I was disappointed with book two as well. Let’s hope book four is an improvement.

4.5⭐
That Secret Crush is an extremely delightful small town romance. That was not only utterly readable, but sweet, sexy, and very amusing. And I was easily engaged throughout, as it was full of great characters, particularly the well fleshed out and often hilarious Knightly siblings, Brig, Griffin, Rogan and Jen. Not to mention, main couple Reid and Eve, who were both fantastic characters, and I loved how Reid was the ideal mix of surly, unfiltered, sexy, funny, and sweet, and that Eve was the perfect counter to him. Yet, she was also impressive in her own right, and I enjoyed how their relationship came across, as it was very natural, fun, and fresh.

Furthermore, you could truly tell that Eve and Reid had been good friends for a long time, and for me, that the humour and the epic and unforgettable declaration of love towards the end were what genuinely made That Secret Crush so wonderful to read; and it's why I would happily recommend it to others.

This one is probably my least favorite in the series. It's not that I didn't like it at all, it's just that it's not my cup of tea and Meghan Quinn has definitely written better books than this one.

My biggest issue with this book was Reid. He was too weak, too long for me. I love reading about character growth and watching someone overcome their obstacles, but he didn't really do that until the end and I feel like the first 3/4 of the book was him moping and lashing out. Oh and having sex with Eve because that felt like that's all they did. I wanted so much more from their relationship and from Reid, to be honest. I understand someone going through issues and working things out, but my biggest issue with him came from his lack of desire to WANT to be better. I did like that he was a kind and caring individual though and I loved his relationship with his family, in particular Brig. It was definitely a redeeming quality for him.

I actually really loved Eve. I thought she was a really well rounded person who had her head on her shoulders. I liked that she persevered when it came to struggles and that she didn't just throw the towel in. She cried when she needed to, pulled on her big girl socks, and moved on. I thought it was admirable and very much relatable. She was a well written character.

Overall, this isn't my favorite book in the series. So far, Rogan's has been the best, but I'm REALLY looking forward to being in Brig's head. He reminds me of Racer from Twisted Twosome and he's a hilarious character so I'm sure it'll be a fun book!

Although I have read and enjoyed the other books in this series, I didn't love this one. I found the beginning to be clunky and awkward. The backstory is all tell and no show, and the scene by her parents graves was horribly done. Further, although I liked Ried, I didn't care for Eve at all. She had the emotional maturity of a teenager. Lastly the ending was to abrupt for my liking. All of a sudden a drink and a page later everyone is happy. Just didn't work for me.
