Winning isn’t everything.

For The Win is the fourth book in the ‘Wynn Hockey’ series by Kelly Jamieson. It’s a stand-alone, but, if you haven’t read any of the others, then you should. Not just because they are an interconnected series of stand-alones, but they’re all such great stories, too. Plus, there is a story arc throughout them all. It’s not a ‘be all’ but it helps to have read them. You can still read this on its own. Just… why would you want too, lol.
This is Harrison Wynn’s story. He’s been stuck in the AHL for a while, but now he’s been given a chance to shine in the NHL, it’s a dream he’s harbored since a young age but never quite fulfilled.
Both, he and Arya Ross have been in previous books, so it’s nice to see them coming together. Ayra is a yoga teacher and when she first met Harrison she thought he was a bit of a clown. Harrison had a completely different response.
Arya has a past that still haunts her and she finds it difficult to give her trust, never mind open up and share her feelings. Harrison, in his own unique way, shows her just how wrong she is about him.
This one was bursting at the seams with all the feels. From simple friendship, to adoration and unfailing love. It tests limits and tugs at heartstrings. This is a certain One-Clicker for me. Check it out and see for yourself.

Hold onto your heart because Harrison is amazing. He is a flirty, caring, uber sexy gentleman. I loved how he treated and pursued Arya. They were so cute together especially after she started letting her guard down. She is so strong, rebuilding her life after the tragedy. And she had great support to help. She was so adorable with the dogs. Both she and Harrison were extremely likeable characters with a great story of love. I enjoyed the appearances of the other Wynn family members and the glimpses in their current lives.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review from the publisher through Netgalley.

This was a feel-good opposites attract romance with a sexy hockey player and the troubled, broken yoga instructor who wants nothing to do with love. Harrison and Anya have a great connection right from the start. He's not used to being shot down by the ladies, so what starts out as a mission to win her over really turns into something neither one of them was expecting.

I haven't read anything else in this series, and I think I want to! The extended family members are fun, and I'd love to read up on those couples.

I received an advanced copy via the publisher and NetGalley and voluntarily left a review.

We first saw Harrison and Arya meet in "In it to Win it" when Harrison's sister Everly invited him to a yoga class that Arya was teaching. And again in "Win Big" where Harrison takes on the role of class clown.

Now we really get the chance to know Harrison, his hockey career hasn't quite turned out the way that he'd hoped and he's desperate to prove he has what it takes to be in the NHL. He's a big-hearted fun-loving guy and in this book you get to see how he uses his humor and care-free ways to cover up his insecurities about not living up to his family's legacy.

Arya's backstory was unexpected for me. She's a yoga instructor attempting to use her yoga to heal herself after a traumatic event caused her to leave her home and start over in L.A. Now struggling with being able to trust men as well as distrusting her ability to judge them.

Harrison and Arya fit together very well, he drew her out of her comfort zone and she helped to center him and see what's important. Harrison was open with her in a way that was not usual for him so when her inability to do the same caused a rift between them I hurt for him.

I love the Wynn family hard and I was secretly wishing that the book was called For the Wynn 😉 Anyways, For the Win is book 4 in the Wynn Hockey series and next up is Harrison Wynn and Arya Ross.

I’m really loving the the family story arc, as we get through each book, we’re learning a whole lot more about the Wynn family. And I will say, the most recent update on the Wynn family is a little bit heartbreaking, but what I want more than anything is for everyone in the family to finally be a solid unit. There’s still a bit of hostility going around, but I think they made a lot of headway in this book.

Harrison and Arya, they’re definitely adorable together. I love, love, LOVE the yoga aspect to their story and couple’s yoga sounds absolutely amazing! Their yoga moments were definitely a favorite!

I was hoping to connect with Harrison and Arya on a more emotional level, but it wasn’t quite working for me. I really wanted them to dive deeper into their relationship.

This one is definitely a great addition to the series that’ll definitely leave you hungry for more. I can’t wait to see more of Harrison, Arya and the rest of the Wynn family in the next book. Definitely enjoyed this one!

So much emotion! Arya and Harrison had me from that first yoga session, and they didn't let go. Arya's story is heartwrenching, and Harrison is just too lovable for words. This pair is so good together even if the relationship does have some growing pains to get through. I've enjoyed this series from the start, but I think this couple has become my new favorite of the Wynn's. They have terrific chemistry, they're likable, both together and separately, and it's impossible to not root for them. As I've come to expect from Kelly Jamieson, the story is well written, the characters are engaging, and the romance is hot. All in all, another entertaining read in the Wynn Hockey series. Each book in the series focuses on a different couple, but there is a continuing storyline. That said, Jamieson does give enough backstory so that each book can work as a standalone, although I can't imagine not getting to enjoy this whole series from the start.

I really enjoy this series. I love the Wynn family dynamic. I can’t wait to read about the next family member! As a hockey fan, really like this fun series.

Harrison and Arya don't exactly get off on the right foot. In his quest to gain her attention, he gets more than he bargained for. As a professional hockey player, you would think he would have smoother moves, but you would be wrong. Arya herself has some deep baggage and doesn't exactly project a woman who is willing to date. Both of them have issues and each seems to be trying to work on them.
Harrison knows that he is always judged and expected to be just like his father. When his coach basically tells him he hasn't reached his full potential, he takes it to heart. Add in the added stress of his father's current situation, and you kind of feel for Harrison. It seems he really is a good guy who is just trying to find his way in this world.
Arya was a bit more difficult to get a handle on. She has been burned in the past and is justifiable in her reluctance to date. The issue I had with her was that she was painting Harrison to be some monster that he wasn't even close to being. I had a hard time with her now owning up to her past so he could be aware of what she was facing. Instead she just kept stating that she was justified in her feelings and, therefore, it was okay. I felt her friends should have been a bit more reluctant to go along with some of her bad behavior. I felt Harrison did not need to pay for some other person's bad behavior. I felt that Taj was justified when he called her out some of the time and basically stated that he was not going to be her barometer for whether a guy was good or not.
Both of them had issues with communicating their feelings. It also got a bit old the amount of times they each retreated. I did like how each kept pushing to get the other at least talking again.
This book was actually a good read and I felt it was in keeping with the rest of the books in this series. I don't feel you had to read the other books in order to be able to follow this one.
I received an ARC from Net Galley for my honest review.

When kelly introduces Harrison in the last book! I could not wait for his story with the lovely yoga instructor!

Kelly has a way to suck you right into the Winn dynasty! The characters have such a depth and the banter is one that keeps you turning the pages.

Another amazing read by kelly! She is an author that I continually buy her books, they just have a way that draws you in and you feel like these characters could be friends of yours!

Another Wynn bites the dust! No, its not foreshadowing. Harrison, himself, says he's going to marry her. Now he just needs to prove it.

The Wynns are a big complicated hockey family. With a family dynamic that leads to overly dramatic and probably avoidable problems, they aren't devoid of entertainment. You just need to learn to pick and chose your battles in the Wynn household. Perhaps, some people need to grow up too...

Harrison will learn. Arya won't let him get her down. This sexy, sweet story has Wynn lovers ready for Jackson's appearance. Just don't wait too long...

If you've ready any of my previous reviews for this series you probably know what I'm going to say -- I really love this series so much, and For the Win is another winner in this series.

Harrison Wynn is the fun guy, floating between the NHL team and the Condors farm team. Underneath his fun-loving exterior, he wonders if he is good enough for his family's expectations. When he meets Arya Ross, he'd immediately intrigued by her. When she becomes the team yoga instructor, he's in pursuit. He's quite charming as he gets to know her. What he doesn't know is that Arya's past may be the thing that keeps them apart.

I really love adore this series. There's hockey (and quite a bit of it in this book) and family drama which enrichs the story. There's two people who are totally right for each other -- it just takes them a while for both of them to get on the same page. The sex is steamy and just detailed enough for this reader. The focus is on their feelings, and I really like that about the hot scenes in this story.

For the Win works as a standalone, but I would recommend reading every book in this series -- you'll get hooked just like I did!

An ARC was provided by the publisher. This is my honest review.

This is the fourth book in the Wynn hockey series. This story features Harrison Wynn, son of hockey legend Bob Wynn and his second wife. He has a two-way contract so he has been bouncing back and forth between the AHL and NHL and feels pressure to live up to his family name. Arya Ross is a yoga instructor who is wary of dating because of a horrible experience in her past. ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
This was the second book I read by this author and I thoroughly enjoyed it. This story was full of emotion and depth and was extremely well written; there was the romance yes, but so much more about families, relationships, and personal struggles. Written in dual POV, which is definitely a preference of mine, we are better able to understand both characters and their feelings and motivations. ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
I loved Harrison and Arya. Harrison was just so lovable and endearing and, of course, sexy. He was super funny too. Arya was so strong and I enjoyed the way she lived her life and her focus on positive affirmations. ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
I felt like both characters were well developed and experienced personal growth that felt realistic. Their chemistry was evident and the intimate scenes were sexy and enjoyable. I did find it a little frustrating that Arya didn’t just explain to Harrison about her past and why she was cautious when it came to dating, especially when they got more serious. It just seemed to cause unnecessary drama. This was just a small blip and Harrison and Arya in large part communicated really well. ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
A fun side bonus was the interactions between Harrison and his hockey teammates; their banter and antics were hilarious. ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
Overall, this was a sexy and fun hockey romance with emotional depth that I would definitely recommend. ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review. ⁣⁣⁣

3.75 stars--FOR THE WIN is the fourth instalment in Kelly Jamieson’s contemporary, adult WYNN HOCKEY erotic, romance series focusing on the Wynn family. This is twenty-six year olds, NHL hockey player Harrison Wynn, and yoga instructor Arya Ross’ story line. FOR THE WIN can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous instalments is revealed where necessary but I recommend reading the series in order for back story and history.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Harrison and Arya) FOR THE WIN follows two paths including the building romance and relationship between NHL hockey player Harrison Wynn, and yoga instructor Arya Ross, and the illness that is slowly robbing the family patriarch of his mind. Arya Ross moved to California to get away from her past. As a yoga instructor Arya is able to relax and start a new life but meeting hockey player Harrison Wynn forces Arya to look beyond the past, and into a possible future but Harrison is completely unaware of the ghosts that haunt our story line heroine, ghosts about which Arya refuses to talk. As their relationship begins to bloom, Harrison finds himself making one mistake after another, mistakes about which he, once again, is completely unaware. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Arya and Harrison, and the fall out as Arya pushes Harrison out of her life.

Meanwhile, former star hockey player, and team owner Bob Wynn is battling a daily struggle with a debilitating disease. Although his wife Chelsea has kept secret many of the smaller issues, questionable financial transactions and missing money are tearing the family apart. With the truth come questions, questions that no one is able to answer.

The relationship between Arya and Harrison is one of immediate attraction but Harrison and his friends push Arya out of her comfort zone. Arya is hired as the new yoga instructor for the NHL’s California Condors, a position that places Arya in the direct line of fire for Harrison’s advances and growing love but Arya continues to struggle with demons from the past, and in this, their lack of communication set the couple up to fail. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful secondary and supporting characters including the large extended and slightly dysfunctional Wynn family: patriarch Bob Wynn and his wife Chelsea; GM of the Condors Theo Wynn; Theo’s brother and hockey player for the Long Beach Golden Eagles JP Wynn, as well as numerous brothers and nephews including Matthew and Mark Wynn from Bob’s first marriage: Mark’s son Jackson; Harrison’s twin brother Asher, Noah and their sister Everly. We are introduced to Arya’s roommate Taj, and his boyfriend Ziggy, as well as the introduction of several members of the California Condors.

FOR THE WIN is a story of family, friendships, secrets and struggle; of one woman’s battle with the demons from her past, and the lack of communication that threatens the growing love between our leading couple, and in this I struggled with Harrison’s acceptance of blame when, in fact, he had no idea of what happened or why, or how the simplest gestures set off our story line heroine. The premise is engaging and entertaining; the characters are colorful and energetic; the romance struggles in the face of secrets and Arya’s inability to reveal the truth,

Loved this book so much!! Anything Kelly Jamieson writes instantly becomes my favorite. She gives me a "Book Hangover" every time!

Ok....my two favorite things in one book...yoga and hockey...how can you go wrong? Love. Love. Love that cover. Love this series.... big win.

“Unalome. The journey isn’t a straight line. We make mistakes and go sideways and sometimes backward.”....I love this quote.

What did I like? This is just a fun story with a learning. I just devoured it.

I am capable of anything..... yoga instructor Arya has been through a world of hurt. Now she plays life safe but meeting Harrison has her stepping outside her comfort zones. Harrison has been brought up from the minors to play for the Condors NHL team because certain key players have been hurt. He slides in hoping to make his temporary spot more permanent. This was just a fun and cozy read.

Would I recommend or buy? This is a series but it can easily be stand alone....I suggest however the whole series. I love this hockey series. Hearts. Hearts. Hearts. It’s exceptional and the characters in this one were amazing. They have actually been in the other books but as minor characters.

Thoughts for the author? Congratulations on your new release! This was phenomenal! I had a great time reading it. A thank you to the publisher for a copy to read and give my honest opinion. Great book! Five stars.

Kelly Jamieson is an autobuy author for me and this one did not disappoint! I feel like I have been waiting for Harrison and Arya’s story for forever and it was worth the wait for sure. This might be my favorite book in the series!

Harrison can’t help being attracted to Arya. Arya has her guard up though & Harrison has to figure out how to break through. When he finally wears her down & she accepts a date with him, he shows her a side of him that’s the opposite of the jokester & goofball she initially judged him as. Arya has baggage from her past that keeps throwing obstacles in their way, and Harrison has to deal with sudden family issues. Will these two be able to navigate their bumpy road to happiness?

Another great read from the Wynn family. These two characters have a lot going on individually. If Arya would have opened up & been honest with Harrison from the beginning, a lot of mistakes he made could have been prevented. But it’s understandable why she has trust issues. Loved seeing familiar faces from previous books. Looking forward to reading the next book from this author!

This is book #4, in the Wynn Hockey series. This book can be read as a standalone novel. To avoid spoilers, and to fully understand & appreciate the series, I recommend reading these in order.

Harrison AKA "Harry" has found the woman he wants to marry. Too bad she won't give him even the simplest coffee date. He is not sure what he has done to turn her off. Maybe he tried too hard?

Arya has trauma and secrets in her past that she really does not want to share with anyone else. Her best friend knows and that is enough. If only she wasn't really attracted to a certain hockey hottie who makes her temperature rise!

This story is told with kindness and humor. I was impressed as it has some controversial topics that it touches on. Very realistic, yet such a great story. The heat is on! This read was definitely hot, as it should be when we talk about hockey players. I loved the banter, and the characters brought both gentle and sexy out to play. I consider this a great read and an excellent addition to the series.

Harrison's never met someone so disinterested in him before, and it's sorta bugging him. He's got it bad for his gorgeous yoga instructor, but she isn't interested. Or is she?

I have to admit, I wasn't expecting Arya's back story. It's heartbreaking, and Harrison's reaction was disappointing. Still, he's really a sweet guy at heart and I was glad because she deserved someone as great as she.

Kelly Jamieson's hockey romances are some of my favorites, and with this installment, she's just cemented herself even more as one of the queens of sexy, emotional hockey love!
