4.5 Stars

There are just some moments when you just KNOW you’re going to love a book. You take one look at the cover and you are like, I am going to LOVE this one. This is exactly how I felt when Alys Murray posted a cover reveal earlier this year for her latest, The Magnolia Sisters. I just knew.

This is by no means an exact retelling of P&P, but Alys nails the themes of the original and why we love that story so much. It was like she took the best threads from the original story and wove them into something familiar and lovely and I cannot wait for the next in the series.

Delightful romance story that sets the stage for more to come.

I appreciated how Luke Martin is far from being super smooth. He's got the looks and money, but is quick to put his foot in his mouth.

Harper is a straight shooter who thinks she has him pegged.

But, over time the realize the other is just what they need in their lives.

I will say first off thinking about these fields of beautiful flowers decided in this book made me happy in an uncertain time. I enjoyed this romance story that had its ups and downs as love usually does. I found the beginning a bit slow but the second half was fabulous! Thank

When I started reading this book, I had to keep reminding myself that it was set in the present day. Hillsboro County made me immediately think of the post-war era where things seemed a little less hurried and families had more time for each other.
When Harper and Luke first meet, there are fireworks but, not of the variety that come from attraction, it’s loathing at first sight!
Alys Murray has set the groundwork for her Full Bloom Farm series in magnificent style. Yes, the Amazon blurb makes it easy to guess where the romance is going to come from but, the road to the hopefully happy ending is not without difficulties.
I really enjoyed the way Alys created Harper in a way that made me think of the Land Girls and all of their hard work. As I said, I was reminded of the post war era with women working in the fields was a more common occurrence.
I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did, I can’t wait for book 2!

I really really enjoyed this book. Harper and Luke were both great characters in my opinion. At first they definitely seem like opposites but they come to find that they have more in common than they thought. This story hooked me from the beginning and I definitely recommend it!

This book was a great feel good read. I won’t give any spoilers. But I loved the entire storyline. Great romance with a bit of drama thrown in.

Get your syrup out because this story is super sweet. Harper Anderson and her family own a flower farm. Luke's sister Annie Martin wants to get married on the farm because the flowers are so beautiful. Luke and Harper argue and disagree but are falling in love.
If you are into super romance movies then you love this book. It was good but to predictable for my taste.

Harper works on her family’s flower farm. There’s no doubt that the property is gorgeous. When Annie sees it, she literally throws the brakes on her car and insists that she must have her wedding there. She shows up on site with her brother Lukes and tries talk Harper into letting her use the site as a wedding venue.
Luke is very wealthy and his sister is the most important person in the world to him. He wants her to have whatever she wants for her wedding. Unfortunately he goes about it all wrong, he basically offers Harper a blank check, the check gets crumpled up and thrown in his face after Harper feels he’s insulted her.

For both Harper and Luke, their family is the most important thing.
But Luke practically falls in love at first sight with Harper. And Harper basically falls in disgust at first sight.
She feels like she knows his type. She thinks he’s a heartless rich guy who doesn’t care about her family’s business.

Luke decides to work on Harper’s farm for free. Her dad is quick to accept the free labor. Harper works Luke very hard at first. He tells his sister he’s working there to try to convince Harper to let them use the site for the wedding. But she has a feeling he also wants to be around Harper.

Harper starts to lighten up to him a little bit when she realizes her wild cat actually likes him.

To add another level of complication to the situation, Luke’s sister Annie is engaged to marry the ex boyfriend of Harper’s sister.

Of all the characters, I definitely liked Luke and Annie best. Sometimes Harper was frustrating. She was really hard on Luke.

I got to read an early ebook edition from NetGalley. Thanks!

A charming, uplifting and emotional tale of family drama, the ties that bind and the magic of falling in love, Alys Murray’s The Magnolia Sisters is a feel-good and compelling contemporary romance guaranteed to put a smile on your face.

It had always been Harper Anderson’s ambition to run the family farm in Hillsboro County, California. Harper has always wanted to take over the family business and uphold the traditions that have been passed on from one generation of her family to the next. The hours are long and the work is tough, but Harper is not about to let anybody stand in the way of her ambition – not even LA tech mogul Luke Martin who wants to use the farm for his sister’s wedding. It doesn’t matter how much money Luke offers, Harper is not about to let him set foot on the farm and wreak havoc on their crops and cause untold mayhem. But Harper hadn’t counted on just how tenacious and ambitious a man like Luke Martin can be…

Luke would do absolutely anything for his beloved sister. He has been looking out for her ever since they had been abandoned by their deadbeat parents and he is not about to let anyone or anything stand in the way of his sister’s happiness. Luke will do whatever it takes to ensure that his sister gets the wedding she has always dreamed about, but Harper doesn’t seem to want to budge – until fate intervenes in the most surprising of ways: Harper’s ranch hand lets her down at the eleventh hour and Luke sees his chance to strike a deal with her: he will work for free on her flower farm if she will give him the time to change her mind.

Harper is convinced that Luke wouldn’t last five minutes on the family farm and she is expecting him to crack any second. But the more time the two of them spend in one another’s company, the more sparks begin to fly and the quicker their feelings for one another intensify. For the first time in a very long while, Harper’s guard begins to come down – until Luke stumbles upon a secret that could end up spelling disaster for Harper’s family…

Will Luke be able to prove to Harper that theirs is a love worth fighting for? Or will their fledgling relationship be deadheaded before it’s even got started?

If you love Susan Mallery and Jill Shalvis, then make sure you add Alys Murray to your auto-buy list. Heartwarming, tender, funny, witty and wonderfully romantic, The Magnolia Sisters is an outstanding tale of love, loyalty, trust, secrets and courage that will make you giggle and shed a tear or two. Full of hope and heart, The Magnolia Sisters is a poignant story about two resilient, steadfast, intelligent and relatable characters you just cannot help but fall in love with and cheer for.

A fantastic page-turner fans of small town romances will lap up, Alys Murray’s The Magnolia Sisters is a stellar read you will not be able to resist.

A lovely book! Author writes with a lyricism reminiscent of Sarah Addison Allen. We get such a sweet romance here, with just the perfect pacing and relationship blooming, a cast of characters who provide so much to love about being in their circle, in their wonderful little world. I liked this one very much and will look to read more of Alys Murray's work.

This is the first book I have read by this author and it won’t be the last because I’m struggling to understand why Alys Murray has not crossed my radar before now.
Harper loves working on the family flower farm what she doesn’t love is rich townies trying to buy what the want. Unfortunately she sees Luke as one of those townies and her hatred goes even deeper when after she refuses his blank cheque for his sisters wedding to be held at farm, he goes behind her back and gets her father to employ him to work on the farm......
There is a fine line between love and hate and the love soon shines through once Harper and Luke realise there is more than just an attraction between them.
The Magnolia Sisters is a sweet entertaining read that would be a perfect beach read, I was captivated from the first chapter and I’m looking forward to reading more from this author.

Beautiful story and great romance. A family flower farm is the beautiful setting. The relationships in this book touched my heart. A story of enemies that learn to love. Not usually my favorite theme in a romance, but the author does it well! Thanks to Net Galley and the publisher for the opportunity to read the advance copy in exchange for an honest review.

I must probably be living under a rock or why didn't I hear about this author before? So here I go with nothing but the blurb as my guide and what I find is a modern version of 'Pride and Prejudice'. Did you hear a scream? Yes, that's me jumping up and down in excitement. If you want to know, that happened pretty much throughout the reading process. Had my sister worried.
So what is that glued me to the kindle? Everything -- vibrant and funny characters, the language that flows off the page, a storyline that makes you tingle . . . well, the list goes on. A kickass heroine prejudiced against the city dwellers, a socially awkward billionaire uttering all the wrong words -- that surely is a killer combination proved and tested from the classic times onwards. And it has ticked all the boxes for me: enemies to lovers, siblings love, and to top it all a sassy narrative that engages you throughout.
Anderson family is similar to the Bennetts in most ways including a mother who is socially humiliating (in the perspective of Harper, anyway). The flower farm setting, if you borrow the term from Indian aesthetics, just adds to the rasa. I loved the way the bond between Harper and Luke developed slowly, thanks to some sisterly meddling from both sides. I don't want a single thing to be changed about this book, it's going straight to my favourite shelf.
A sweet romance that will cheer you up and comfort you like a gift of flowers. Highly recommended!!!

This book is perfect for me as I'm a keen gardener and I like Hallmark movies as this story is full of references to flowers and gardening and the general atmosphere reminds me of Hallmark movies.
It's a lovely, well written and entertaining enemy-to-lover story with a well crafted plot and a couple of likeable and fleshed out MC.
It's also a story about family, friendship and all the relationships that are important in our life.
The setting is vivid and well written, the secondary characters are well thought and relatable.
The author is an excellent storyteller and I hope I will read another story featuring one of the other sisters.
An excellent read, highly recommended.
Many thanks to Bookouture and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine.

I have never read any books by this author, but loved the title and cover, so thought I would take a chance. An enemies to lovers small town romance is just up my alley. This is a very clean, sweet story, but one I thoroughly enjoyed. Harper and Luke had great conversations, at the beginning full of snark, but by the end, very sweet. They were both awkward characters, and I enjoy a good flawed romance. Looking forward to reading more stories about The Magnolia Sisters.

Basically, the perfect template for a Hallmark movie, just shockingly not quite as cheesy in book form!

No one is going to read this book and be shocked by a single plot point but sometimes it's the kind of book you need. It was well written and contained a couple of beautiful lines. One being about flowers and the role they've played throughout history!

If anything this book was a bit too innocent for me but that's ok, it was still enjoyable enough!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for sending me this book in exchange for an honest review.

A sweet small town love story. Flowers, family, friendship... This was a fun feel good enemies to lovers romance with a gorgeous flowery setting. Harper enjoys her small-town life working aside her sisters on the family flower farm. When Luke blows into town prepared to do whatever it takes to give his little sister Annie the perfect wedding he and Harper immediately clash. Annie wants to get married on the farm, but Harper immediately gives this idea the kibosh. No amount of money good make up for the disruption to the farm that this would cause. Luke however is not deterred and strikes a deal with Harper‘s father that he will work the farm in order to offset the anticipated disruption. What follows is a sweet story of push and pull, give and take, filled with fun and banter.

This was an easy breezy delightful read. I loved the beautiful setting and the strong family ties. Loved Harper’s bond with her sisters and Luke and his little sister Annie’s bond as well. I also loved the friendship that develop between Harper and Annie. However I have to say Annie seems like a very reasonable person that probably would be OK if big brother Luke told her she could not have her wedding on this farm. I thoroughly enjoyed the time I spent with these characters and I am hoping that there will be more in store for us from them.
